Good afternoon, everybody, and welcome back to Dan! Glad to hear everyone is doing o.k.
Well, as Joe would say, I've been spending the day paying Bill(s), and going to the grocery store. I was so tired when I got home, I had to take a nap. The crowd in the store gave me a whopper of a headache. Much better now, after my nap.
It keeps looking like we'll get some rain, but it's going to the northwest of us. Although, when Walt went to the library, he kept hearing thunder, and thought he'd get caught in a downpour (he didn't though).
In honor of Dan being back in, I've fired up the grill, and here's our menu for tonight: burgers, hot dogs, brats, corn on the cob, baked beans, green beans, potato salad (German and American), cole slaw, garden salad.
Everyone enjoy your meal, your evening, and take care.

Thank you very kindly, Mookie, but somehow it don't seem the same. I think I shall pass on your generous offer. Now, kindly shove off, with my compliments...

grampaw pettibone A NS train hit a car in Charlotte, with no injuries. The driver somehow got caught between the gates and they all bailed out. Comments from the usual idiots blame NS and claim a coverup.

"Caught between the gates" always tickles me. It's like they're afraid to scratch the paint by pushing through the gates (which are generally built to give anyhow), but it's OK to have their car hit by a train.
A little lapse of logic there...

Oh woe, woe, disaster, oy vey, ach du lieber. I just read about the loss of the watermelon crop in the Louisville/southern Indiana area. What's we southrons gonna do if there is a shortage of watermelons? Boy, times are tough!
I got home from the grocery store without a problem. It is one of the few things I can do easily. In fact, If I didn't dood it, it wouldn't get dood, dude....

A chilly start today. I thought I'd have to scrape my truck windows this morning...but we're supposed to hit almost 75 today for highs...welcome to WI! Aedan and Misty are well. He's learning to sleep through the night...sometimes. Misty is trying to get a new FT job. The place she worked at was bought by some folks from India. They gave her a 'promotion' consisting of double the hours and workload for less pay. That didn't sit well, especially with an infant at home. She had an interview at a different hotel and was 'almost' promised the job, so she left the old one. A week later...she found out that she didn't get the one 'almost' promised to her. I guess the plus side is we're saving on babysitting costs, but missing the income she brought in. Life in this economy, eh? She has a couple interviews today so hopefully one will be fruitful for her. Back to your regularily scheduled Diner...
Mornin'. 63 degrees and clear in Carolina at sunrise. Supposedly, it will be a nice day with tolerable temps and partly clear skies. Adrian, those are some awesome pix, but what pray tell does RACM stand for? I was navy, and I know rear admiral chair mount it ain't.... Now that the sun is coming up, the wife has the plan of the day showing grocery shopping at 0700, so I am off. Take care

Hey Adrian, cool pics and video! Any idea if those cockpit displays in the C-17 are Rockwell Collins' displays?

Good Thursday morning everyone, and good afternoon(?) Adrian! Very glad to see you in here! I hope all is going as well as can be expected to you and everyone else over there.
Coffee, juices, lemonade, iced teas, hot chocolate, hot water for tea, and other morning beverages are freshly made and ready.
On the warmer bar this morning: turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, homemade biscuits & sausage gravy, oatmeal, toast, along with the prerequisite bagels and bear claws.
Here is Louisville, KY this morning, we have a current temp of 69 degrees, with temps a couple of degrees cooler in the outlying areas.
Everyone have a great morning, take care, and if anyone has any meal requests for today, please let me know.

Adrian, Very Good to see you visiting, hope all is going as well as can be expected. Uh, just make sure that weapon is pointed down range!
Bit on the tired side tonight, Sarah got back from an all day standby at the firehouse, and wanted to start refinishing a bed that she got several weeks ago; managed to get the rails (wooden) stripped and prepped for stain; still have the headboard and footboard to go. (got the easy parts done first!)
Started out in the supervisiory capacity, but wound up doing some of the work; don't really mind it, but it has been a few years since I've done any projects like that-even after doing a bunch of them over the years.

Hi Adrian
Thanks for the pix. Is that an M16A2 or an M4? When I was in, a green color tip meant a duplex round (two bullets designed to hit a few inches apart) but now it is the current version that succeeded the M193. May G-d bless and keep you in your duties for our country. From a Navy vet, Nam era
Enjoyed your nice pic's Brian.
Hi Adrain........Best wishes to you on your mission.
Howdy ya'll, havin fun here still in the land of sand.
Came back from an outside the wire fix downrange...

Evening all.
School went well. My careers teacher had me say some things about the profession I wish to be in when I grow up. He said that his seniors aren’t as mature, and grown up as I am. That made me feel good. Not much to talk about. Currently enjoying this issue of TRAINS.
Local news is carrying a story about a 33 YO local woman who got some scratch off lottery tickets in a birthday card - one of them was a winner, to the tune of $1 Million. She gets $50K a year for 20 years.
Not that I begrudge old folks winning the Lottery (I fit that description, and I'd still like to win), but it is nice to see someone win who will live long enough to get the last check.
She said she's going to use some of it to help pay off her student loans.
It looks like it's been a very slow morning in here. Guess everybody is busy, busy, busy.
The lasagna is ready, along with the Italian bread, and the salads are in the fridge and cooler.
Desserts today: Carrot cake w/cream cheese icing, chocolate cake w/white icing, and yellow cake w/chocolate icing.
It's warming up nicely around here. Had to go to the grocery this morning, and definitely needed the lightweight sweat jacket. We still had a cool breeze, and the lighweight jacket did not seem too bad. We're supposed to reach a high of 80 this afternoon.
Saw on the internet this morning, where Erich Kunzel, the conductor for the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra passed away the other day. The Capitol Fourth concerts on PBS just won't seem the same without him, leading the orchestra. He will be missed, not only by his family, but a lot of us who always watched him, whether in person, or on the TV. May he rest in peace.
sometimes I give matt cash which is as good as money to buy stuff.Cw thanks for breakfast.another wonderful day here in nw ohio.will finish off the back deck project after my nap.
Good Morning. 61 and cloudy (I think) in Carolina. Looks to be a good day.
Just remember, if your parents didn't have any children, chances are you won't either....
Good Wednesday morning, everyone. Nice, cool, pleasant 61 degrees here in Louisville, KY this morning. A little breezy outside, too. Going for a high of about 80 degrees.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, water for hot tea, iced teas are freshly made this morning, and there's also plenty of Gatorade.
Along with the bagels and bear claws this morning, there's also: turkey bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, hash browns, homemade buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy, and oatmeal & toast.
Mookie, Walt is very correct about Sarah! She wears me out, just to watch her. Once she starts on something, she will not stop, even for a short break, until she has whatever DONE. Oh, to be 23 again, and have that much energy.
Everyone have a great morning, and if any of you have any requests for lunch and or supper, let me know. (I'm thinking lasagna, with garlic bread and salad, but if you all want something different, just let me know, and I'll fix whatever you all want. Take care, and be safe.
Brian, Excellent Pictures! Those will look Really good on our new Wide Screen TVs here in the Cafe, changing pictures about every 30 seconds!
Some of us were talking about barn fires just recently; well, overnight early morning, city F.D. had a barn(s) fire; 4 barns at the Ky. State Fair and Exposition Center burned. The State Fair was over Sun. night, along with the World Championship Horse Show, luckily there were no injuries or fatalities; all that was in the barns was bedding and hay. No sprinklers, as they had been around long enough to be "grandfathered in"; bet when they get rebuilt, they will have sprinklers. Also, very luckily, they contained it to only 4 barns; due to age, a very good breeze blowing, and proximity to next barn(s) they were, they were able to contain it to just the 4 barns.
Mook, if you still need some speed, I'll volunteer Sarah while CW & I watch. She's always going to Ju-Jitsu, Fire Training, the "Y" for workouts, outside in the yard and garden, geezes, I need to catch my breath just typing that. For some reason, we throttled back our speed several years ago.
My pleasure, CW- that was one unforgettable vacation. Nearly perfect weather for the whole trip, and we put 4,888 miles on our minivan without a single problem. The only issue I had was making a mistake while transferring pictures from the camera to our laptop, and losing an entire day's worth of shots from Essex and Glacier National Park.
Evening.
Well, just got back from a Boy Scout meeting. It was our open house. Went well.
Brian, Excellent photo’s! Glad you had fun! School is going well(Especially because I was moved behind this girl I like!!!) Other than that, not much to talk about.
Well, I have to finish getting BNSF’s Q-CHCLAC9-22 over the Cajon Pass. I didn’t get it done last night. Will be putting those DNBK’s to the test on the 3%!
