Good afternoon everyone how is we all doin. Today fine dandy well today is one of the greatest days cause it is so nice out side. And not a could in the sky but anywho how is everyone doin. I start my kick ball parctice today at 4:00 and I think it will be a fun time cause this the first time I have never really doin anything with anyone from my work but it should be fun. But anywho. I'll shall be home around 7:00 or so. So CW can u save me something from dinner for later thanxs. OH well I shall be goin now I shall be talkin to you all later.

Good Sunday morning, everyone.  Looks like it might be a semi-cool day today.  We
got more rain sometime this morning (after I went to sleep around 2 a.m.), and aparently,
several  thousand are without electricity this morning. 

Joe, thank you for putting the coffee on, and making the juice and lemonade.  Also,
thank you for the doughnut holes. 

Do I have any requests for today's Sunday Dinner?  If so, let me know by 11 a.m.
EDT, so i can get it going.

Evening folks (yawns), just getting back from a friend's wedding reception in Fond du Lac.  One of the better parts of the ride home was when I got to see some trains when we passed the yards.  A patched SP unit 6226(?), and UP 6202.  I'm gonna snag a water and a cookie and see you all in the morning!

It's kind of a dreay Saturday morning here in Omaha, but the rain is finally over.

That's how the day started here,then it got dark,started lightning & thundering and pouring down
rain about 20 minutes after finishing cutting the grass. Just another one of our usual summertime
t-storms that puts out about 1-1.5" of rain in a short amount of time,and leaves the prerequisite
number of scattered power outages, limbs down,etc.  Hopefully,that will be all we do get today;
as we had planned to do some train watching ourselves!

I was lucky enough to see 8 trains in two hours. 6 BNSF, 1 UP and a very late California Zephyr. It was funny to watch the passengers looking out the windows and get this kind of puzzled expression as they saw me and another railfan standing at this really remote crossing watching the train go by. I got a wave from 7 of 8 engineers - not too bad!

Willy2, we didn't get to go train watching this afternoon, early evening.  After the rain left our
area, it was too hot, muggy and sticky, to walk over to our place.

I'm still stunned by the amazing-looking UP 1996, the last UP Heritage SD70ACe unit. That thing will look great running on expedited intermodal trains on UP's "I-5" route between Portland and Los Angeles.

Okay, everyone.  Here's the lineup for our SATURDAY PIZZA
FEST:

1.  extra cheese
2.  supreme
3.  goetta
4.  sausage/pepperoni
5.  Hawaiian
6.  And apple pizza pie for dessert


As always, I made three extra large of each of the pizzas.

They will be going into the ovens at 6 p.m. EDT, so they
will be ready just before or right at 7 p.m.

And you can either have yours in the diner, or go out on
the patio, and watch the trains rolling by, while eating
your pizza.

.....Oh so you have had a little weather down there Walt....Nothing up here yet all though it is around in some areas of Indiana...Just back and forth clouds and sunshine and  90 degrees here so far today.

Looks like the next 4 or 5 days should be pretty nice too...but we are pretty dry and could use some rain.  Maybe one of the scattereds will visit later this afternoon.

Yeah Quentin we did; this one came in from the north west and tracked on down towards the
south east. Guess this system really did bypass you all this time. Sort of was hoping the temps
would stay down because of the rain,but as usual not to be. Back to the normal high 80s,low 90s;
and of course the himidity to go with.

The new UP "Heritage Unit" looks like a cross between the old "Black Widow" & "Daylight" schemes.
I guess some will like it, and some won't; I'll just reserve my comment for now.

By the way, I was there this morning when UP unveiled UP 1996, the last of the Heritage SD70ACe locomotives. That thing looks STUNNING, to say the least, especially with the right Sun angle.

Evening everyone......

Wow, pretty dead in here for a Friday night, finally wound down enough to slide on in for some late-night food.  Worked untill 8:45 tonight on overtime, then unwound for a bit.

Has rained a little the last two days, but we've only had a dissapointing 17 hundreths total, really could use more, the crops need it.

Joe, congrats on the new little one, have Matt teach him well.

Will be relaxing over in one of the recliners, with some classic rock and blues playing softly on the Jukebox.  Ahhhhh, that's relaxed.........

Nightrain, don't feel like the lone stranger, when it comes to cabbage.  Cole slaw is the only way
