trains, and being a railfan!!

Got some more fish, hushpuppies and fries on.  Should be ready in about

Nightrain, don't feel like the lone stranger, when it comes to cabbage.  Cole slaw is the only way
I'll eat cabbage, except in homemade vegetable soup.

Hi Nightrain, Yes it is the Olympic engine. I caught it in Oakland in 86'. Here is a bigger version. Zak has a nice looking HO version too.

This weekend will be a BIG one for railfans here in northern California--Union Pacific will unveil its final SD70ACe Heritage locomotive (designated UP 1996), which will sport a livery inspired by the old Southern Pacific liveries. It will be unveiled at Roseville Yard in Roseville, CA--about 20 minute's drive from my house tomorrow (August 19, 2006).

Morning...our high for the day is supposed to be a comfortable 77 with party cloudy skies. Too bad I'll be at work from 9-9 today!  I have the weekend off, though so I'll take it.  I just got back from running 4 more miles so I'll have some fruit and skim milk.  Catch ya later!

Rain forecast all weekend here - could be a good weekend for the railroad, as people look for stuff to do "sort of" outside.

I hope I look as good at 92 as the guy I transferred from one hospital to another last night.  He'd had a heart attack, however, and pretty well figures his time is up.

Looks to be a slow day here at work.  But probably not, now that I've mentioned it....

Back later.

CW - it comes from Ed - hits Mookie - goes up north to Murphy Siding, then swoops down to BC and Joe and then to you.  I think.

Good Friday morning, everybody!

Mookie, we're supposed to be getting rain this afternoon;
but our rain is supposedly coming in from the west-
northwest.  Guess we'll have to wait and see.  Current
temp is in the upper 70s, low 80s and quite muggy.

Coffee is ready, and tea, juice and lemonade are also
available.

Breakfast this morning:  have some doughnuts, and for any-
one who doesn't want doughnuts, I have bacon, sausage and
scrambled eggs, along with bisuits and sausage gravy.

I am in Wisconsin this morning after coming up from Illinois yesterday morning.  It rained on and off sicne about noon yesterday and drizzled most of the night.  Nice and cool but not cold (yet).  I smell waffles being cooked in the hotel lobby (yes, a small AmericInn motel) so I am going to shower and then go and see if there are any left, otherwise it will be Raisin Bran and a bannana for me this morning.  Have a good day, everybody.

Jay, if I have the time-line right, Nora took that shot of your namesake before the word came out.  I'm sure Gabe could use that in her defense.

We haven't really gotten much rain yet, either.  Maybe Brian should bellow again!

I'll have... (darn, got to go back a page), OK, #4 with a slice of onion, tomato and some horse radish.

It has been raining here the last 2-3 hours, if it could be called that.  I could get more water on the grass if I just walked around the yard spitting.  The rain gauge isn't even wet.

I see tha Nora is the first on the forum to demonstrate civil (or is it railroad) disobedience.  See her pic on the "UP bans" thread.  I'll post bond and Gabe will defend pro bono.  Some one needs to look after the kids until we get her out, but they should enjoy the playground behind the Diner.

Lunch is ready:  I've made the following sandwiches, and have chips to go with them:

1.  pb&j
2.  bologna & cheese
3.  ham & cheese
4.  roast beef
5.  lettuce, tomato on whole wheat bread w/your choice of Miracle Whip salad

Going to continue with the list of sandwiches for tonight.
It's just too muggy and sticky around here, to do much else.

I've also go some ice cream for dessert, and I can make some
banana splits, if anyone wants them.

Brian, you can quit blowing now--my bike and I got sprinkled on the way home from work this afternoon.  I expect to be driving tomorrow, based on the forecast.

Good trip home, otherwise--met or was passed by three freights and a scoot in Elmhurst and Lombard.
