Willy, I forgot to put it on today's menu, but yes, I've got plenty of chicken noodle soup
just for you.  Heating you up a bowl of it right this minute for you.

Howdy all.  Thought I'd pop in here today as it'll probably be one of my last posts for a while.  College is starting back up and I have to get back to "work".

So I'll quietly snag a Mt. Dew and a cookie and sneak out the back door for a while...it's been fun!

We had a cat named "Chessie..."  We also had one called "Traina."

Here's the lunch/dinner and dinner/supper menus for today:

1.  big pot of mild chili (box alarm)
2.  big pot of medium chili (extra equipment)
3.  big pot of "hot"  chili (5 alarm)

There is also grilled cheese sandwiches or PB&J sandwiches to go
with the chili.

Morning All,

Had a pretty fascinating weekend. I'll be sure to post some pictures when I get a chance to wade through the roughly 300 shots I took. Look for a "Photo Where Is It" by this evening and a trip report some time this week.

Meanwhile, I had best get to work. Hope you all have a great week!

Good morning, everyone.  Sorry about getting in here so late this morning, but
I've been inundated with people ringing the doorbell, to sign up for the Produce.

LC, we ocassionally have Key Lime Pie, and I'll  be very glad to accept another
recipe for it!

Today's breakfast is on the warmer bar:  bacon, sausage, sausage gravy with
biscuits, scrambled eggs, toast, oatmeal, bagels and English muffins are on
the menu this morning.

Everyone have a great day, and I'll see you all after I get through with Produce Day.

Airport of the day -- Denver.  A "Mexican salad" at the Cantina Grille in the B concourse with the so-called HOT sauce (very mild, really) but washed down with two Fat Tire ales not at all bad for airport chow.

Now if we could just get United (the PRR of airlines) to pad their seat backs.

Steak, medium well (oh, wait, I'm supposed to be at the grill, aren't I?).

Corn, Potato Salad, how about next time around we turn out some salt potatoes?

After finishing up the the RR  yesterday, stopped at a co-worker's VFD for their "Steak Bake."  Must be I didn't win the pickup truck, though.  I can still handle steak two days in a row....

Joe - I suspect some of the parents figure that the kids will be 'interested.'  Some are, many aren't.  Of course, some of the parents take part in the process, pointing things out, etc.  Some just sit there and let the kids run rampant.

The grilling has been under way, and there are some steaks, burgers, bratts,
hot dogs, and corn on the cob available right now, so everyone come on and
fill your plates.

The side dishes are:  potato salad, potato chips, baked beans, cole slaw, and
three kinds of Jell-O salads.  And the prerequisite fries.

Desserts:  chocolate cake, white cake w/white frosting, cherry cheesecake,
chocolate cheesecake, apple pie, and cherry pie.

Everyone enjoy, and Joe, there's about three containers in the fridge with
your name on them, for you to take to work tonight.

Willy, that sounds like a bad cold.  My colds used to start with the sore throat, followed by sneezing--the coughs came later.  Hope you feel better in time for school tomorrow (unless, of course, you want to stay away from it, which I seriously doubt!).

Finally nice today, if cool, now that Ernesto has taken his rain further north.  It wasn't too bad yesterday, fortunately for the trainmen, as they stayed a little drier during their groundwork.

We had a good day yesterday - lots of riders.  We were happy to see them all, but I wish parents with young kids would consider that Junior is going to get bored cooped up on the train for an hour and a half and bring something to amuse them.  Not a few passengers were a tad miffed about the racket!  Made for a lot of cleaning, too.

I believe I'll be back for dinner - have a few errands to run.

Good Morning.

I am really sick this morning. Coughing, wheezing, very sore throat - basically I'm a mess today. I'll be off to the doctor in a little while to see what it is.

CW - Dinner sounds really good, but I probably shouldn't come in to eat this evening because I don't want to spread whatever I've got to anyone else.

Well, that's about the only news from Omaha this morning. I might pop in for a visit tomorrow.

Looks like we'll have to set up the grill in the shelter house and get the big umbrellas up on the patio.

Good Labor Day morning, to everyone!

Enjoyed my day off yesterday.  I want to thank Joe and everyone else who helped
out in here yesterday.   Looks like everyone did a great job keeping everything
cleaned up.  THANK YOU ALL FOR A JOB WELL DONE!!

Joe, cereal sounds pretty good this morning.  Think I'll make my cereal a nice,
hot bowl of maple brown sugar oatmeal w/a couple slices of toast this morning.
It's only 59 here this morning, and something warm sounds really good.  Would
anyone else like some oatmeal this morning?

Think I'll fire up the grill around 3 and put some steaks, burgers, bratts, and
hot dogs on, along with some fresh corn on the cob, and maybe we'll add some
other veggies like red and green peppers, and whatever other veggies you'd
like to have cooked on the grill.

Everyone have a great, and safe holiday today.

Have a great time, and enjoy your get-together!

We're getting the rain here (about 3/4" since last night, so far), so I probably won't be going out before afternoon.
