Good morning all!  I'll get the early bird chores done!  Coffee's going, juice made fresh this morning, donuts made fresh this morning, and I've got a couple of choices for you for food.  Scrambled eggs, omlette's (name your filling!) French Toast, pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, ham steak, and  hash browns!  I hope you're hungry!  Everything's ready to eat so I'll put in on the warmer bar for your enjoyment!  Got an extra large coffee cup or two here filled and ready to go!

Good Friday morning, everyone!  Yes, I'm back today, and feeling better.  Headache's
just about all gone.

Joe, and Chris, thank you two so very much for taking the cooking duties yesterday.
I really appreciate it.  That was very nice of you two!  Also, thanks to Mutt for doing
breakfast yesterday morning!!

And Dan, thank you for doing breakfast this morning, and making the coffee and juice.
Think I'd like a couple of waffles w/maple syrup, scrambled eggs, and a couple of
sausage patties, please.  And I  think I'll take a glass of oj, and one of those extra
large cups of coffee.

EXTRA SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL:
For those of you who may only work half a day, and start your long weekend, I hope
you have a very good and safe holiday.  Want to be sure everyone returns on
Tuesday safe and well!!

^~^ -  special thanx to all who look out for caffeine starved, milk-hungry, chocolate cake lovin', messy 4 footed, fur-coated set of sharp teef.....

I chewed off a boquet of flowers from CW's garden to put on the table.  (ate the ants!)  (taste like chicken!)

Speaking of - heard they had alligator on a stick at our state fair - and about the taste - well you can fill in the blanks!  Personally, I would have chewed on the stick - tossed the alligator.

CW - thanx for well-wishes - I will take off around noon to 2pm and be back on Tuesday.  Got an apron ready for driver - it is fall cleaning time.  I will direct!  Cool [8D]

Sarah, Tree - anyone east of me - stay out of the bad weather, but enjoy the rain.

Morning All,

CW, good to see you back! I didn't know if you were feeling 100% this morning, so I brought in a couple fish to help with the Friday Fish Fry. I've got some Trout, fresh from CO, and (as a special request) I bought some Mahi Mahi (sp?) at the grocery store. Would you mind cooking that up for me? I've never had much luck cooking Mahi Mahi. Let me know if you need any help in the kitchen.

Well, I'll be headed out for the weekend as of tomorrow. I have a cousin from IL that'll be in town. We're planning on hitting the Georgetown Loop, the Cumbres and Toltec and the San Luis Express. I'll be sure to grab some shots and post them here.

Well, catch you all later. Hope you have a great day, and if you're leaving today, have good safe trips everybody, and catch you here on Tues!

TTFN!

I've also got some fish for the fry tonight.  I was out this morning after work and snagged some fresh Lake Perch, Crappies, and Bluegills.  I'm also going to make a big container of Creek-bank Potatoes.  Probably be warm ~ 4 or so.

It's 70 degrees out at Noon, nary a cloud in the sky, and just a hint of a breeze!  WHAT A GORGEOUS DAY!  My turn for the hammock...for a while anyway!

*For the kittie:  milk, coffee, and chocolate plates are on the counter.  Enjoy!

Chris and Dan, appreciate your help with today's Fish Fry.  Chris, not exactly sure
what Mahi Mahi is, but I'll try a piece of it, along with lake perch, fries, and a
slice of chocolate cake.

And I'll supply the fresh corn on the cob, and slaw.

Dan, our current temp is about 71, and very, very cloudy.  Looks like it could
start raining anytime!!Dead [xx(]

Well, everyone, I've got the deep fryer going with lake perch, Chris' Mahi Mahi,
and trout (thank goodness for very large deep fryers), and a couple of other
kinds of fish.  Got another deep fryer going with fries, and the first batches of
each are just about ready to take out, and eat.  Corn on the cob is boiling on
the range/stove, and fresh slaw is in the cooler.

In the pie/cake cooler, there is chocolate cake, white cake w/white icing, pecan
pie, apple pie, and peach pie.  And there's plenty of ice cream in the freezer, if
anyone wants ice cream with/or without the pie/cake.

Everyone have a great evening, and try to stay as dry as possible while outdoors.

Mmmmmmm...CW...the  Mahi Mahi was great! (BTW, it's a delicate Hawaiian fish...very tender and very un-fishy tasting).

Well, I've got a Fantast Football draft tonight, so wish me luck. Hope you all have a great evening, and a great weekend!

Greetings from the Tri-Cities Division (nearest we've been to civilization for a while!).  Pleasant weather so far in the northern reaches--we've had to use a blanket at night!  Late-season flies have disrupted the evening beach walks, but I haven't seen skies so clear since...well, since the last time we were up here!

I'll be back home before my sister gets back from her weekend.

I'll have some perch and fries.  We're going out tonight!  My girlfriend and I have the same weekend off for the first time in 6 months!  Going to see a comedian at the Skyline Comedy Cafe, so I'll pop in later.  Have a great weekend all!

Hope you enjoyed the fish!  CW I'll help out anytime!

Good Saturday morning, everyone!  Joe, are you and Matt still around?  Maybe Matt
would like to help me get breakfast going here this moning.  He could help me make
the biscuits for this morning, and I'm sure he could take a fork and scramble the eggs
in the bowl, before they go into the skillet.

Saturday brunch will be:  bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, hash
browns, pancakes, syrup, grits, oatmeal, and toast will be on the warmer bar in
about 45 minutes.  Will keep everything on the breakfast warmer bar until 2 p.m.,
EDT.

Tonight's SATURDAY PIZZA FEST won't be ready until about 7:30 tonight, since
I'll probably be "working" at the Health-Fun Fair two doors up from our house, at
the community center.  It is to end at 4, but I'll have to start making up the pizzas
when I get back.

Everyone have a great day, stay as dry as possible, with all this rain around the
eastern and east central states.

Here is the list of pizzas for our SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST:

1.  supreme
2.  Hawaiian
3.  pepperoni/sausage
4.  goetta
5.  extra cheese

We had a great turnout for the Health-Fun Fair.  Even though it was very breezy,
and overcast.  Seemed like everyone had a very good time.  Looking forward
to next year.

NOTE TO EVERYONE:

I'm going to take tomorrow off (something I don't do, unless I'm sick),
so you all will have to divy up kitchen duties for Sunday breakfast
and Sunday Dinner/Supper.

Oooh!  Oooh!  Hawaiian for me!

I'd offer to cook tomorrow morning, but it's one more day on the railroad.  We had a pretty good day today despite (or perhaps because of) the arrival of Ernesto in the area.

Interesting day, too.  The RS3 wouldn't start, so we ended up running with the SW1.  Between the wet rail and the usual 3 cars, the poor old (1939) girl had her work cut out for her.  The customers get a little longer ride.  I'm not sure what the grades are, but they are significant, and having 600 HP instead of 1600 HP is an issue...  The RS3 will probably be in the shop for the rest of the season.

Then, on the way home, I drove up on a one car accident.  It appeared the young lady lost control on wet roads.  She hit a power pole, shearing it off at the base and cracking it further up, but looks to have only minor injuries, making her especially lucky, since she didn't have her seat belt on, although the air bag deployed.  The power pole was still standing, fortunately.

Time to clean things up for tomorrow.

I'm in here a bit late. I think I will take a large extra chesse pizza, please?? I know it's late but, I'd figure better late than never... I think I'll have a Sprite to go with that too.

Well rain, rain, rain, all the way here in the great city and state of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The waters have risen, and the rivers are flowing, pretty hard too. I call some of the rivers the Chocolate Rivers, due to all the run off.  HAY since I want to go surfing so much, I should think about doing some river surfing,...huh?? Na..the current isn't up eough. I'll just have to wait until the Alantic Ocean, in AC New Jersey, gets up to 10ft waves.

Just in for a late night something or other.  Been busy doing "stuff"-chores and errands,  in part to get ready for an extended road trip starting in a week or so.

Sarah-From the rainfall reports, it sounds like Ernesto picked up all the water off the south of Florida to dump everywhere up the east side.  Keep the powder dry.

Issued an alert to Bergie on the troll in our midst who is doing an especially good job of being a creep and has other characteristics that shouldn't be mentioned on a family forum.  Hope Bergie checks in before the weekend is over.

Hope those who can enjoy the holiday weekend.

Greetings from Chocolate city USA..........

Well, I see everyone is doing alright, save for the one or two trolls out there, I'd offer to help remove them, but my version of removal is rated R. (Remember the movie Fargo?)  We'll leave it at that.

Anyhoo, it's a cool, foggy morning here in Burlington, WI, temp is about 50, forecast to get to about 70-75.  Cut my parent's lawn yesterday, determined that my parents need a new lawnmower.  The current one is older than my parents' marriage, we figure it's 30-35 years old, still runs great, but is starting to nickel and dime them.  Also went to see some old friends yesterday, as well as a cousin of mine who has a bigger truck than I have.  (Which isn't saying too much, his is two wheel drive, but it's a one-ton crew cab doolie.)

One butchered steer coming up for the grill, all USDA inspected, and ready to cook.  Will also call up a former co-worker, and get some of his mothers' potato salad (we had him leave an adress and phone number with our supervisor so we could get potato salad when we cook out.)

Seconding Randy's motion for a great day.

It looks like our trolls might have finally over indulged in their favorite substance and taken an involuntary break.  Recall that one them posted about sampling some fluid used to clear water and ice from train lines, but suffered no ill effects.  That would be true for someone with no brain cells.

After the rains of last week and with the cooler nightime temps, the lawn has recovered rather nicely.  I think I will trim it up and do the early fall fertilizing today.  If you don't get paid is it still labor?

Enjoy!

Just got back from the Labor Day picnic and Congressional candidate rally.  I'm stuffed--they did a much better job of serving a meal this time, instead of merely grilled sandwiches and beer (or root beer).  Also got to see some current fellow-employees, and a couple of my retired co-conspirators, and their spice and girlfriends (what?  "spice" isn't the plural of spouse?).

Normally, this UTU picnic is held on Labor Day, but somebody fouled up and didn't reserve the site in time, so we settled for the day before.  It may not have been so bad an idea after all--there's rain in our forecast for tomorrow, and today was absolutely perfect!

Had a Congressional candidate come by and make her pitch for election this fall.  She had a video crew with her, so I might be in the background on some of her ads (unlike my previous TV appearance, this time I don't know what I'm saying or doing, or even if I was caught in passing).  She's got a tough battle, being a Democrat running for Henry Hyde's old seat (without saying anything about my own political affiliation, I'll just say that I'm glad that old coot's retiring!).  She says, "What are they going to do--shoot me?" (she has a physical disability from having been shot down in a helicopter over Iraq).

Hey Carl, 'tis very wet and rainy over here in Iowa today, so it won't take long to get there.  I finally have some time to vegitate in front of the computer- the party yesterday was wonderful, couldn't ask for better weather; beautiful blue sky, no wind, around 80 degrees- perfect!  We ended up having around 88 guests, surprisingly less than we figured would show, so lots of leftovers.

I'll check back in later- TTFN!
