Good Monday morning everyone! For supper last night, Walt had spicey chicken keel
from Kings, and I had the regular keel. We both had potato wedges.

For breakfast this morning, let's have some turkey bacon and eggs.

Haven't decided dinner and supper menus yet. Any ideas anyone? [angel]

Ruby Tuesday's has the most fabulous salad selections. One of my favorite places to eat - besides of course, the Depot Diner. But there I don't have to cook or do dishes!

Well, school starts here today - and we will get back to more normal hours. No more Friday afternoons off. Will have to actually work a full 40 hours a week.

We are having hot and humid weather this whole week, so the rest of the nation east of us will be having a heat wave later this week. Seems like we start the weather pattern here and shoo it on to the rest of you.

Ed - how far are you from those refinery fires. I know you were on your days off during one of them, but wondered how close you were when at work? So after the hurricane in Florida and the refinery fires in Houston (2) where were we on the subject of terrorists? Hmm?

Had a Smokehouse Burger for dinner this past noon. Bacon, cheddar, and barbecue sauce. And a salad instead of fries. We have to thank Mookie and Driver for introducing us to this particular restaurant chain--it's become a favorite place for us to take our daughter and her fiance.

Since this post is about the Depot Diner, I won't mention that the name of the restaurant was Ruby Tuesday's.

Ed,congrats on the "new" computer,I don't know how long it will last, but from what little that I understand about them, they are obsolete the day you get it.

And Carl, wasn't that the name of a song? "Goodbye Ruby Tuesdays"[:D]

We sell out of our FD chicken barbeque in about 90 minutes. It would be faster, but we just can't hand it out fast enough! Thats usually between 700 and 900 halves! It takes it longer to cook it that to sell out.

...Hi Ed....We're very close on computers...this one is a HP pavilion mx703. Put it to work. in January of this year. XP op. system. Like the "restore" feature so when one gets in trouble you can simply take it back to another date in time {electronically}, and restore it to that date and get rid of present problem...Have fun.
....Need to add this: Above model I listed is just the monitor, my computer is HP pavilion a307x....Now, we have it correct.

We've got a Dell Dimenison 4550,and the "restore"feature on ours has come in very handy at times![:)](with Windows XP2000)

...Yes, by my experience it sure does help. Get a bug or worm or virus just put the "restore" to work and seems to do the job....Sometimes too good. I just downloaded software a few days ago for our new digital camera and I put the computer through a "restore" run and bingo.....off went the software to the camera, but that is no problem, I'll just stick the CD back in and re run it.

....Jen, your forecast seems to be correct....We're into a very nice morning now and this week the temp is to climb and bring back the humidity....With a chance of showers each day this week...not storms but chance of rain. It has been cooler than normal for these past 2 weeks overall....And our granddaughter has been back in school since Aug. 6...! A charter school and they seem to have longer hours each day and longer school year.

The refinery fires haven't made the news up here (at least nothing I've been able to see). Those things are never fun. The nearest refineries to us are 15-20 miles away, and they had a couple of fires in the past 25 years that was visible (smoke cloud, reflected flames after dark) at that distance and beyond.

Daughter #2 has school auditions later this week; classes begin next week. My last year of dealing with this--she graduates in May (with a Bachelor of Music degree), gets married in July, then grad school will not be my responsibility!

Ruby Tuesday('s?) was probably named after the song, Mutt, but I'm not familiar with it.

I have writers block. Trying to finnish of a piece for orchestra and I am not satisfied with the results so far. I will be on and off the forum today likely until at least WWE comes on tonight. Anything interesting in the world of trains?

Big orchestra; it is a very disturbing piece based on Dante's Inferno and Collin De Plancy's Dictionaire Infernale.

Joe, I'll take some mac and cheese. Locomutt had a supper of sauteed mushrooms
and onions. I could handle the onions, but mushrooms tend to cause a problem
at times, so don't eat them very often. Only when Walt makes his spaghetti
casserole. (Which he hasn't done in AGES!!

And Joe, did you and Matt watch Trains and Locomotives today? We did. Also watched
the last half of Tracks Ahead: got home from the store in time to see the last part of
it. [angel]

...Tree...."In vinyl".....That sounds nostalgic. I haven't played a "record" in some years now....Guess it's kind of a shame....Back then I disconnected my Lab Turntable and put it away....so now don't even have a way to play vinyl. Several CD players in house and both vehicles but for some reason the records are packed in a box....Have a box of 45's too. Guess I assumed they were on the way out.

...I have a CD player..[single play], packed away in a box I purchased when the technology was just 2 years old on the consumer market...The price had just started to drop from the extreme high when I purchased it in 1985....and it still works like a jewel.

Hmmm - I was reading through the records list and wondering in the back of my mind if anyone remembered the old Victrola! What a beautiful machine! A true work of art!
