.....Wow, you fellows talking about 2" of snow, etc....and in the last hour I just finished mowing the yard...{really looks good too}, wearing shorts and sweat shirt...Really nice, beautiful blue sky with strong sunshine. That only produced 60 degrees but no wind and temp felt just fine.
Congrats to Larry for successful wedding for offspring....
Experienced that some years ago with only daughter. 13 year old granddaughter has been here visiting with us last few days.

Larry, congrats on the new couple! I really like the idea of the sung kiss request as well. I shot a couple weddings with similar ideas. There was one where the bride and groom requested that an amusing story be told involving one or both of them. Some of the results from that were downright funny, and that includes me not knowing much about the parties involved! I'm sure they would have been even better if I had known the bride and groom personally.
Mutt, it's good to see that you're getting something above the usual Kibble. The dishes you listed might be considered crossover by some, but I'll eat them with delight!
Well, as MC said, we've got a bit of the white stuff around. Of course, now the sun seems to be coming out, so I may have to see if I can get some pictures before it all drops off of the trees (it was really photogenic this morning).
Hope you all have a great day! TTFN!

Might want to break out the Cincinnati Chili for lunch ... two inches of fresh snow this morning and we've got flurries now....The dogs are out rolling and revelling in it now.
Back at noon for two cheese coneys and a bowl of 5-way at noon....

Well - happy to report that the hitching went off without any problems. Daughter finally got emotional enough to shed a tear as we walked down the aisle, but up on the altar she was all smiles.
The newlyweds had decided that they didn't want the constant clinking of glasses, so they decreed that they would only kiss 'on demand' if an entire table got up and sang a song that included the word "love." I think my sister was the only one who really took the idea to heart - much to the chagrin of most of the rest of us at the table. Cute idea, though, and much less irritating than the clinking....
Time for bed for this tired father.

Mookie - I still didn't get them. I don't why they won't show up in the inbox, but try one more time.
Feeling a bit better today, but still not fantastic. This weekend isn't going to be very restful, either.
A little bit of snow is possible tonight/early Saturday morning, but like Mook said, nothing too much.
Anyway, I will be back in sometime this weekend, probably Sunday. TGIF!
Willy
been busy day here too.will take some fish dinners to go.got the ns hat from fostoria.thought they said hats but anyways matt will have a surprise when he gets home from school.

Tree - best wishes to the new couple. And good luck with your four-footed visitors. Mom will do just fine, I am sure.
Brian - Tell Joanie we will be thinking of her. Let us know how it goes!
Texas vs NE tomorrow - and game will be perfect weather. Wet and cold! We will have to have a lot of things going for us - so weather and home advantage should help, I hope!
Maybe a trickle of snow - nothing to write home or forum about!
CW - How's the house guest doing? Have her check in from time to time.
BNSF ran wall to wall trains this morning between 4 and 5:45! It was great. Had some in the bathroom, the living room, the car. And they all whistled at me - a lot!
Larry,
Remember, Mom gets the people food, the dogs get the Kibble and Bits..
Made that mistake once, put a scoop of dog food in a cereal bowl, splashed it with milk and handed it to my then 5 year old…went out back and dumped Cheerios in the dog bowls, and got all the way to work before I realized what I did…The kid still checks out her breakfast pretty carefully when I fix it for them!
blhanel wrote:Good morning, all! TGIF! Should be a nice day here today, then tomorrow it goes to **** in a handbasket.
Gonna be that here today. Just got a call from this evening's bride - the outdoor picture session before the ceremony has been moved inside at the church. Central New York has flood warnings....
But, everybody from our side of the family that had to travel is here, I'm pretty sure (a couple of them were flying standby and got bumped to later flights - arriving after I went to bed). Mom is staying here for a week after the wedding, to visit friends an relatives, etc. I get to chauffeur.
Son and DIL spent the night here, so I had my bed to myself (while I'm running the kennel here the three mini-dachsunds are burrowing into my bed). The daughter's Dalmatian is camped out in my recliner - more to avoid the little dogs than anything else. He is a tad confused - daughter moving out of her apartment, he comes up here (at least he knows this house), and when he goes back, it'll be into new digs at the newlyweds house. In case you're counting, that's five dogs in the house this week... Son & DIL just bought a new house in MD (she was transferred east), but they aren't ready to move in yet.
So, the ceremony is all rehearsed, the players are in place, and with any luck, chaos will be kept to a minimum, tonight, and all next week (5 dogs plus Mom..)
See ya on the flip side...
Jay: Great Pictures! Thanks for sharing. I really need to get out NE one of these autumns...
Ed: Congrats on having such a talented daughter. Kind of makes me wish that I hadn't been one of those mediocre or perhaps even apathetic teens you spoke of when I was in school. Sigh...hindsight is 20/20 I suppose, and this just means that I can only get better, right?
Brian: Hope Joanie does well with everything. I'll keep her in my prayers.
Well, the Colorado weather folks are saying that today should be nice, but tomorrow and Sunday could be a little nasty. That's a bit of a shame, too. Not only was I planning to get out and do a bit of railfanning, we've also got our company picnic on Sunday up at one of the Corn Mazes up north a bit. Not necessarily my thing, but I was hoping to get some good shots of the kids playing in the maze, and with the animals, etc. for the company newsletter that I write. Oh well...if it's just overcast, that's better for portraits anyways. I guess time will tell all...
Anyways, I must be about my tasks. Hope you all have a great day, and a great weekend!
TTFN!
jay nice pictures thanks for sharing.yep its finally friday.whoo hoooo.matt likes school and wants more always asking why and how(like auntie mookie) will take some breakfast to go. need to get errands done..
brian hope joanie gets better soon too.

This is almost better than breakfast - but not coffee - one big one please - black with one cream to cut the evil spirits in it.
Why not?
Kids tend to follow your lead, even if they pretent not to.
Expect a lot from them, and if they are eager to please, and you encourage them, you get good results.
Set the bar low, and all you get is mediocrity, or worse, apathy.
Even if they dont achieve all their goals, imagine the skills and self assurance they will and already possess...and trust me, all of them were raised with the idea that just because they are "girls" dosen't mean they are any less qualified that a man to do or be just about anything they want.
They are not perfect kids by any means…being a honor rolls student is not a pre requisite to being on the team, but as the coach said, if you are already an honor roll student, then keeping that up is a requirement to play on her team…excellent incentive if you think about it.
All four girls come from working class families…a concrete contractor, a railroader, a Sheriffs Deputy and a Data and Communications technician, otherwise known as a cable guy!
Elizabeth was picked as a Student Ambassador for the People to People program last year; her group went to the United Kingdom as representatives of the Houston Independent School District.
One of the requirements was they had to earn at least ½ of the total cost of the trip…you aint seen such well cared for lawns and so many washed and waxed cars in one subdivision in your life!
Laura got her “big break” when her mom sent in a tape for an audition for a local supermarket chains advertisement program, they wanted a few kids for background work on a TV add, but ended up shooting the commercial around her instead.
The producer liked her enough to hire her for other local TV work, introduced her to a group of “artsy” folks at Rice University, and the rest she did on her own, a very head strong young lady.
Seriously, high schools are recruiting these girls; we get a letter every week from several schools wanting Beth to attend their school next year, as do the other three.
Point is, if you trust your kids, and then give them the tools to accomplish their goals, encourage them and provide supervision from the sidelines a little, well, who says she can’t live on Mars?
