Thank you Mookie. I've been trying to do some checking on the internet, but couldn't
come up with anything, as to whether she's still writing. Went to her publisher's web
site.

While I'm here, I'll post the lunch menu for today: Got some chilli left from last night's
supper menu, and will be adding to the lunch menu:

cream of brocolli soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and open face roast beef sand-
wiches w/mashed taters and beef gravy.

Man I was sooo tired last night I kept falling asleep at the computer. [B)] My mind went to bed long before the body did. [:0]

We are somewhere in the upper 30s this morning. Man, Spring turned back into Winter. [B)] But things are on the uphill now. [:)] Y ou have to believe that this was Mother Nature's last Hurray for this winter.

as I was watching the demolition of the depot I was talking to the contractor forman.he said a kid was cut from the debris of the truck.[:(!]thank god it wasnt serious.

Mookie, LJB has one out now. The title is: The Cat Who Dropped a
Bombshell". I am #80 on the request list to read it from the library. Which

Quentin, what little "ice" we had has melted, and our high today was only in the
low 40s.

Had the day off so the cable guy (no, not that one) could put in my cable modem and internet phone. Thus I didn't notice right away that we got just enough snow to say we did. By the time I got out the door for a couple of errands the dusting on the driveway had melted in the sun. Still snow in the forecast, but I think we're past anything major now. However, as I often say - "never say never."

No problem with vampires tonight - had plenty of the garlic bread.

Good morning to one and all! Looks a little quiet in here this morning.
At least I've got the train layouts running, so it's not "deathly" quiet in here now.

Got the coffee on, and the juice made. Breakfast is just about ready. I've got
some oatmeal cooking, fried up some bacon, and putting the sausage on as
I speak. Got some blueberry and apple cinnamon muffins in the oven, along
with some biscuits.

Anyone care to give me some ideas for lunch and supper today?

Yum Joe - I will have to take supper home with me!

Anyone wanting snow, drop me an e-mail. I will package it up for you and send it on the first coal train heading east. (or west if you really want snow!) We have 10-12 foot snowpeople! They are running a contest on the best snowperson in town and I personally have seen some pretty good ones. And snow forts! Lots of snow forts!

But will be back into the 40's and maybe close to 50 this weekend, so will all turn to clumps of rain. It is very pretty in the fields next to where we train watch. Looks like smooth white frosting on a chocolate cake....oh oh.....################### off to check the counters for any cake....#######

....Believe the snow has about had it for this season in our area....And that's a good thing. Our one inch that accumulated Tuesday is long gone. Robins have resumed their hunt for worms on the yards, just as it should be now. Some years ago I did my first yard mowing on Mar. 25th....and it's already been fertilized this spring and growing so within a week it will have to happen. Goodby winter. {Hope that statement doesn't comeback to get me}.....Hmmm.

Joe, thanks for the suggestions: browning the pork chops to go into the Crock
Pot, and peeling potatoes and onions to go in with the chops. As soon as I get
everything in the Crock Pot, I'll be making the subs for lunch.

Mookie, I also have a chocolate cake in the oven, and it will have white frosting
on it. Actually, I've got two cakes in the oven: the other one is a white cake,
which will have white frosting on it, also.

And Mookie, I'll make sure to fix up two to-go boxes for you to take home
tonight.

Carl, we have your 8701 here. I hope it can make it back to you but that might not happen. [:(] There are a lot of CNW fans very unhappy right now. I got a call from Chicago last night asking me to check on it. So, on my off day, I went to work to check it out. It is setting at the Ramp (was last night anyway). A few months ago 8575 was here and left in one piece without any added yellow paint [;)] so cross your fingers and toes. With the current power shortage I am hoping it will not be sent to Jenks. Going to Jenks would pretty much be a death kiss for it in its current paint scheme. [:(]

A nice club sandwich with krinkle cut fries would really be nice for lunch. [:p]

My sister goes to a restuarant where they take a large chocolate chip cookie, and add a bunch of other chocolate stuff to it including chocolate suryup. The cookie is hot when served. She is nuts about it but I tried a bite one time, it is just WAYYYY to much chocolate for me. But some kind of hot desert would be nice today. A fresh baked apple or peach cobler would fit the bill. [:)]

and baking, and haven't seen anyone since Jim was in. For those of you going

WoW There wasn't much action today in the diner. Well.......

Finally.......I have come back to the Diner, thank goodness. I was starting to miss the food. hehehehe

Well as most of you know I am now back in Philadelphia, Pennsylvanina. [:(] I personally am not too happy about that one, I didn't want to come back after the wonderful time I had down in Louisville.

I want to thank everyone who wished me well on my flight back home. Man was it an interesting one. First it was delayed for about four hours, then when we approched Philadelphia we had to circle around the air port for about 1/2 hour, then when we finally landed on the ground we had to wait an additional 20 mins to get an open gate, then I had to wait about 45 mins at the baggage claim. Then after that I got on Septa's R1 regional rail to Center City, then from there I got on the R8, which was delayed about 10 mins. At around 11 something pm I reached home. I should of been home at 6pm. I did get a free ride on the R1 though, because I knew the conductor.

I really do wi***hat I could of taken Amtrak's Kentucky Cardinal but, unfortunitly the train doesn't exist anymore. I think Amtrak should bring it back. That would of been much better than US Air.
