First of all, a big congratulations from Kozzie downunder to Walt and Paula!

I have grabbed an opportunity to visit an internet cafe and let my Forum Friends know how I'm going. Moved interstate three weeks ago - went pretty well, considering it was a 1,600km drive (1,000 miles). I'm starting to feel more settled. It all takes time.
Debbie and I have established our wedding date: April 21, so it's only about 10 weeks away! Plenty to do and we're working our way through the "To Do" list.

Hope to touch base again soon, I just wanted to let Ed, drephpe, Mudchicken, Walt, Paula, Quentin and all the Forum crew know that things went ok with my big move.

Cheers

^ ? Cat on drugs? So that is how a cat and a chicken can live in harmony?

Kozzie - was wondering about you the other day! Good to hear from you.

And CopCar - where has he been lately? Need some new pictures for the diner walls.

Have a question, I think. Saw BNSF GP60 # 105 yesterday. Most of the GP60's we have are in the GN colors (green, black, white) Am I right so far? This one was in the orange and dark green colors. I tried to google it, but got nowhere. Anyone know anything or refer me to a website for information. I have on my list several in that number range, but don't remember any of them being anything but the green ones.

Or am I the cat on drugs?

Good morning, everyone! Want to again thank everyone, including Kozzie for your
best wishes yesterday. Sure was good to see kozzie in here.

Mookie, I've been wondering about copcar, also. Hope he's doing all right.

Breakfast this morning: bacon, eggs, and toast.

I am reminded of a "Mother Goose and Grimm" comic strip from some time ago. Grimm (the dog) was wondering why cats found catnip so attractive, so he tried some. I love his line in the last panel: "Ooh, the colors!"[:)]

Larry;is that comic strip still out there ? I do remember that one, checked
comics.com,and didn't see it still listed.

Mookie;stick to the "catnip",it's less habit forming. (supposedly)

Joe;I certainly hope that was the truck that got "loaded",Not The Driver !!

Precisely why the cat "was on drugs" and she still yowled all th way east! Was fun to watch the back end of the cat trying to follow the front end going down the hall, or go down the stairs.

Hi All,

Sorry for the long absence. It's been a bit of a trying month. Have had a lot of bids going out, so I've been pretty busy at work. It's also High School Basketball season so I've been shooting a lot in the evenings. I also managed to catch a cold that tried its best to turn into pneumonia. And to top it all off I had to have the transmission rebuilt in the cruiser. Sigh...Can somebody stop the world for a sec? I think I'm getting dizzy!

Hope you have all been well. I am starting to feel better, but still busy at work and with the basketball stuff, so I may still be a little sparse around here. Will try to drop in and say howdy when I get a chance.

Take Care and TTFN!

Chris, that is a fantastic pic!!

Supper tonight: cleaning out the freezer, so we're having beef stew, meat
loaf, baked chicken, shrimp, baked fish, and plenty of veggies to go with
above mentioned veggies.

Getting freezer ready for a good/fresh grocery run.

Hey All

According to the noon weather we, here in Arkansas, are going to drop
down in temperature some more. The next week or so we will be having below freezing temps during the nigh time hours. [:(!]

Yesterday they said that the Dakotas were having single digit weather. [:(] You guys make sure and keep them up there. [;)] I don't want any part of any weather below 15. I actually don't want 15 either but may not have a choice. [V]

Now for my good news of the day. [:)] I had ordered a hat from the Olympic Commitee and it came today. [^] It is s w e e t [:p]. It is black with a small area of royal blue on the left and right side of the bill. Then about a 1/4 inch strip of white between the blue and black. Centered in the front is this year's Olympic seal (I guess that is what it is) under that the letters USA and under that the Olympic rings. As I said, the hat is pretty SWEET. [:D] And to top it all off, the bill already came rounded, I didn't have to do that. [^]

Chris, (CopCarSS)

Man,welcome back and hope you are feeling better !!!!!!!
Please try to not stay away so long. (I know, things DO happen.)

That is a fantastic picture;would figure it's entitled: "Get Outta My Way !!"

Jim;we've been in the "deep freeze" here for several days and can expect it
for several more. "Winter" has returned,no more 60 degree days for awhile !!

The hat sounds "cool";seems that is something that I always have to do to
a new cap. Kind of nice to see that some one else has done it for you.
(probably not the same way you would do it,but......)

Got the freezer restocked with all kinds of goodies. Left out some roast. I have
fixed it, and have broken it into pieces for some beef vegetable soup. Seems I
have contracted a sore & itchy throat, so thought I'd make a big ole pot of soup.
And with the weather turning even colder, looks like that might be a good idea.

Also have some navy beans soaking to fix a big pot of bean soup tomorrow.

Switch8frg, be careful on those roads.

Jim, glad you got an Olympics baseball cap. Know that is now going to be
your pride and joy for awhile.[;)]

Switch8frg,
Thanks for the kind words, they are greatly appreciated !!
Hope the "bad weather" doesn't cause you too many problems while you're
out doing your thing;we just saw a big rig on it's side today seemly for no apparent reason;don't know the whole story though,at least there were no
injuries.

Was looking around for degrees this morning, but could only find one. At least the sun is out and the lake effect machine isn't running.

Hooker, NY (more a point on the map), located on Tug Hill, was reported by the Weather Channel last night as having gotten 33" of snow in the recent lake effect event that precipitated that picture I posted a few days ago.

Well, I finally woke up this morning! Been up about 25 minutes. Can't talk
at all this morning. Going to do a lot of pointing today. Guess I shouldn't
have cleaned out the freezer yesterday, then restocked it.

Breakfast specials this morning will be: oatmeal w/toast, pancakes and
syrup, turkey bacon and sausage.

Pretty much depend where the game was played. Remember most refs are from close to the arena where the game will be played. Their calls most generally go for the home team. We always called them "homers", because their calls were for the home team. A charge (offensive foul) at one end became a defensive foul at the other. One of my buddies' dad was in charge of the ATF in this area. (If you remember Waco, he was one of the ones on the roof who was shot and carried off in a sleeping bag upon the hood of a jeep or truck on the evening news.) Anyway he got so upset at one game(because the reffing was so one sided) because the game was becoming increasing violent and flagrant elbows were being throw with no calls again the offending team. Then my buddie received a flagrant elbow to the jaw, with no foul called, and it was all we could do to keep his dad off the floor. This is one reason wins are hard to come by on the road, because the refs are usually homers.

Now back to the weather. [;)] They are having a very hard time predicting the weather here lately. We were below freezing last night and today it is only about 38 degrees with almost a 10 mph wind. So it is a cold day and a coat is required. They are saying that some parts of Arkansas cold get snow or freezing rain tomorrow but are not sure which or when. If we get snow it won't be that much or stay very long.

Now for the bad news, today is Monday. [B)] So it is time to walk the dog, fix lunch, and start getting ready for work. [:0]

Take Care All [:)]
