Mookie, you're right: TL doing track and swimming is definitely not
a purty site to see.

Chilli is ready. As promised, there's a big pot of mild chilli, and one
big pot of firehouse hot chilli. The latter will definitely open up the
ole sinuses!!

Mutt - You know....I don't watch much TV. Hate sitcoms and don't think the comedy is funny at all! But - I was in stitches again! Maybe you have to be from UNL to appreciate the humor. I can't believe TL is that self-effacing or intimidated!

Having said that - did you notice - he tucked his hair up under his band hat and took out all the jewelry! I checked it out! And his track and swimming - well if you didn't see it, trust me - it ain't purty!

Welcome to the Depot Diner and Coffee Shop, greyfox! Always glad to have
new patrons come in to see us.

I am the "very small woman who cooks up a storm": only 4ft. 5 in. in height,
and I do love to cook: mostly the good ole down-home, country cooking.

Breakfast this morning: sausage, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal, toast, turkey
bacon, scrambled eggs and cantalope slices.

Welcome Grayfox. Another animal for the diner! Love your fur coat! (If Jim didn't explain the resident cat, then you will be terribly lost for awhile!) There is a Mutt, a Tree, a Brother, and a very small woman that cooks up a storm!

No news that's worth reporting....got the summer blahs.

Good evening everyone, this is my 1st time in this coffee shop, I was invited by Jim, aka JHHtrainsplanes. He thought you folks might be interested in this article was from MSN.com recenty. You can tell from the prices that they are not up to the latest date, as they appear to be about 2 weeks or so old. Also, Canada was not listed, and our good friend Fergie from Nova Scotia said they were paying over $5.00 a gallon there.
Thanks for the coffee guys, I'll try to stop by again,

Unfortunately, I'm off red meat for the foreseeable future, so the Chili and the corned beef are both taboo.

I should be "back" in about a week--so maybe the chili will have properly aged by then.

Had a nice, albeit brief, visit today with a sharp gal from Kalmbach--Kathi Kube! We had to look for something specific in the way of a photo subject (can't spill it yet), and could only find an approximation despite taking the circle tour of the yard. She has an Amtrak train to catch tonight.

(My wife was along--had a little fun with the "Pat 'n' Kat" thing!)

Mookie, if chili doesn't have enough chile(note spelling) in it, then it is not worth eating. Too much is a bad thing, but chili has to have zing.

Welcome back Larry, now we've got the extra help
for our "grilling" again !![:-,]

Joe,chili doesn't sound too bad,there are several
of us that can eat it on warm days;it just seems like
it tastes better when it's cold outside, and you can get
warm inside; both house and body with a good bowl
of it.[:)]

Mudchicken, I wasn't talking about you being fried.

Today is Produce Day, so I've got breakfast all ready for you all, and
it's on the breakfast bar staying nice and warm: sausage, biscuits
& gravy, scrambled eggs.

Will be back in after I'm through with the Produce.

Well have I got a story to tell today!!

I got to witness my very first big explosion today! I was going along with one of my co-workers on a road test. We were getting off of the Blue Route aka 276 on out exit Norristown which really brings you to the begining of Conshohocken, PA. Anyway from the ramp I heard and saw a very BIG ENORMOUS BOOM!!!!!! And tons of white hot flames and thick black smoke. I've never ever seen anything like that before. It turns out that some idiot cut a tanker truck off and it had crashed. This happened on the interchanges of Mid County on the PA Turnpike aka 476. Which might I add is a very very conjested interchange. This interchange is only one mile from were I was.

Thank goodness no one was hurt and the driver of the tanker escaped before the tanker blew. Becides this that has got to be the coolest thing I've ever seen, in terms of blowing stuff up. It bets building rocket launchers out of aluminum 6 in diameter exhaust pipes!!!!!!!!!!!

CSXrules: Philly is boring? With all those trains in your area it can't be that boring. You should see it where I live. No class 1's whatsoever. The only crossings up here are moose crossings. Speaking of the weather, our low for friday morning was 37! Cool enough for all of you?

doghouse I hate to let you know this but Philadelphia is very boring in terms of freight traffic ever since the good old railroads like PRR, Reading, Eire, Lackawanna, B&O, C&O, ect......... shut down. Traffic just picked up and moved out west to places like Chicago which has all of the class ones except KCS. Over here we have more than enough abandoned lines and Rights of Way. There are also tons of passenger action over here like Septa, NJT, Amtrak.
