Somebody figure out where the snooze alarm is on that darn cat!

My sister has a cat that would, after it was let out in the morning, go and lay on my sister's feet until she got up and fed the cats.

We also had a cat that would cozy up to your head if you were sleeping. There isn't too much else that will wake you up as fast as opening your eyes and seeing him.......

Then both of you jump, and nearly have a heart attack.

Mudchicken, I know of a snooze button on a cat, but it involves flying kitty, and the rest isn't printable. Have done it by accident once or twice, usually when cat spooks me.

Hello all......

Was wondering what that loud noise was at 7 in the morning, passed it off on the neighbors car. Went back to sleep too for a few hours.

Still picking out metal and undercoat from various places on my head and arms from work. Apparently, we finished an order of trailers when we found out we had to change out the landing gear on all of them, of course they all had fresh undercoat on them. Also found out how many people it takes to hang ceiling scuff panels (six. one to drill and tack it to the roof, and five to bench press the chunk of steel to the ceiling!!).

Beautiful weather here near Madison, after kind of a dreary week. My dad finished combining corn this week, the yield was a little better than expected, he managed to fill his Harvestore about half full. I guess other farmers in the area are running out of space, owing to yield and the hurricane afteraffects.

Happy belated birthday, Chris![bday] Hope it was a good one.

CW, I will take the obligatory Friday fish fry, with fries and tartar sauce. (It's Friday, it's Wisconsin, it's a tradition!!)

OK - for Chad I will make an exception. How about a cold nose in your ear? Look up your nose? A paw very gently on the eyelid to see if it will open? Your choice!

Going home - everyone have a nice weekend and be nice to each other whilst I am gonneth.

While not exactly a pan, my dad used to pound on my door every morning when he got up reguardless of weather I had to get up early. That made for some VERY Hard feelings between us and had a lot to do with my leaving home at 15. No one should have to deal with that kind of abuse.[:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!] There are few things that upset me to the point of anger, but being wakened that way for no reason is one of them.

Used to do that at frequent slumber parties when daughter was young. They kept me up all night giggling and fussing, so being an early riser, I was on the "pan & spoon" usually by 6 am. Glad they all had strong hearts!

Wow...Mook...can't do that to a guy on his vacation a day after his birthday. Oh well...now that I'm up, think I'm headed trackside. Managed to forget the scanner in Denver, but hopefully I should be able to find something. Kind of a foggy morning, too. Should be pretty dramatic railfanning. Might even grab the 4x5 while I'm out and about.

TTFN...enjoy the hammock Mookie!

CW I think I'll have some pizza. Chesse please. I think I'll have some gatorade (spelling) to go with it if you have any, if not then I'll take some Sprite or something.

Well since, I am down here in Louisville, KY I do wonder how the weather is up in my home state. I heard that the Philly area was seeing some heavy rain. One thing I do miss is being able to see the rivers overflow, however, I'm glad the weather is good over here in Louisville. I heard that tree got some heavy rain also, so I'm guessing it must be pretty bad. Oh man look what I have to look forward to when I drive back to PA (I'm kind of not looking forward to going back, but Oh Well.

Larry, did you get any of your vichyssoise?!?!?! Sure hope so. If not, check
the fridge: I happened to make extra for you this time.

And everyone else: the pizzas are ready, waiting on the warmer bar. So help
yourself whenever you're ready for your pizza.

I always advise friends who are interested in using Amtrak that they should reconsider if they are traveling to an "very important" and cannot leave a day early. Given that Chris's CZ was rerouted via the UP and Sheridan, WY, that kind of delay isn't too bad. Of course if the train did leave Denver on time and then lost the 4.5 hours, I would call that a different story.

Not likely a record, though. My mother went west on the Empire Builder around the time of the big Red River flood. The train left Minneapolis on time but was on the order of 8 hours late at Portland. I guess the Superliners don't float. Mom doesn't care. She says that is just more time to spend on a train.

...Bingo...! Just lost a note here as power went off for about 2 sec., long enough to put the computer down. I simply was noting of Chris' comment of Amtrak being 4.5 hr. late on his trip....If being late so much on Amtrak's routes is in part the fault of host railroad's congestion and of course putting Amtrak in {the hole}....wonder what is the answer to improve that performance...Of course the host railroad wants to accommodate it's traffic. Amtrak would like to keep it's schedule...How does one overcome the problem at least in part.....It's easy to see how this gains Amtrak no customers and loses many would be repeat ones...
WC....and Locomutt....Those fried potatoes sound good but guess we shouldn't eat fried foods too often....I'd like them more often here than the wife prepares them but I don't say anything as I understand why...But they sure are good when fried up just right.

Wind? I'll take wind. Somebody else can take this danged rain! Haven't seen that foreign object called the sun in two weeks, and if it's not raining, it's misting, so everything is usually wet. Farmers can't get into their fields to finish cutting corn. I'm hoping it will back off at least tomorrow morning so we can do the fire prevention stuff at the school - part of it is usually outside anyhow, and we're planning some "value added" with the fire drill that starts the whole thing that will involve the kids staying outside a little longer. One of my co-workers is part native American and does ceremonial dances - I'll have to see if he's got an "anti-rain" dance in his repetoire...

I'll have some vichyssoise on the porch - it'll be a never ending meal...

All are scattered to the four winds!

Fortunately, the resident nuisance won't leave the hammock, so someone can watch over the comings and goings in here.

Welcome back Willie; now we wait for Chris to return. And Joe to come in and put out something for breakfast....let's see - I could do something, but I don't want to be mistaken for a domestic goddess, so.........

Well now...I made it one piece. Only 4.5 hours late, too! That has to be some kind of record for Amtrak.

Seriously, I think this is half of Amtrak's probs. Most of the people on the CZ missed their connections, assuming they had some. I think everything up to an hour is forgivable. 4 and a half? That really starts trying the patience of most people on the train.

So, I'll try to check in a bit while I'm back here. Hope you all have a great week while I'm on holiday! [8D] MC...be careful not to freeze (or sunburn) the feathers now that you're back in the land of unpredictable weather. [(-D]

Evenin all!!!! I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!
Been a wierd month. Went to nieces wedding in Portland. Everything went well, beautiful weather, but not much railfanning, much to my displeasure. Did hit the LHS's in the area and picked up some cool stuff for the ROCK layout. Bumpy flight coming home. (should've taken the train). Got home and "apparently" someone had been on computer for 5 days with the firewall down. The 20 year old and the 14 year that stayed at home both blamed it on the "NOT ME" guy that lives in the basement. He gets blamed for everything around here. Anyway, the computer picked up every virus in the free world and a few from the Soviet Republic. Worked on it for 2 days before it just crashed completely. Had to take it in to get completely wiped clean. Seems to be running great, and am glad to be back online. I missed all my friends and the food in the Diner. I think I've lost at least 8 lbs in two weeks.
Well, I've got to go back about 10 pages and get caught up on what's been going on.
Better bring out a whole pot of coffee, CW , cause I've got a LOT of catching up to do.
Willy, back and faster than ever!
