Randy and Chad, sometimes I like to live by these says "Life is too short" and "Seize the Moment" So I decided that when I get the chance to do something I'm going to go ahead and do it. So this way when times goes on I wont be living in the past saying something like (Oh I should of done this when I had the chance". I also tend to get away with a lot of things, believe it or not. All in all I really didn't have the party......................oh well.

Modelcar, Yes I agree it is a small world and Chestnut Hill is a really nice place to live. It is also pretty darn expesive too. I always kid around with my grandmom and ask here why didn't she buy a house in Chestnut Hill instead of right outside of Chestnut Hill. (She doesn't listen) lol.

I'm having a couple of kegs with genes (spelling) and I'm going to put some wooden kegs of apple citer on the floor too. Oh and I'm going to have a little haunted house thingie out in the back yard. Oh and I'm going to pay off the police too. Just kidding.... I'm not doing anything in the house except what I normally do.....I don't really have anything to do.

That's alright Sarah. I never had the guts to throw a party in my parents house.[;)]

I never had the guts either.......

Well, for the fourth year in a row, the cops in Madison had to use teargas to break up the crowd at the Halloween party on State St. They had about 225 arrests last night. One interesting side note was that the police were trying to break up the crowd before the bars closed, and had to resort to the gas. The mayor made the comment that he will try to cancel the event next year.

I stayed as far away as I could from the place, and played poker online all night.

Think I'll help myself to the brunch bar.

I personally do not feel that I will be taking very many orders for cookies from anyone out there, right now there doesn't seem to be much interest. I am going to try to fill at least one order for a customer out in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and I will let her rave about my cookies, hopefully she will give them a good review.

As for you being diabetic, I can sympathize with you. I'm supposed to be watching my own diet for the very same reason, so welcome to the diabetes club![sigh]

Morning Joe! Glad to see I'm not the only early riser. Unfortunately, the dogs' internal clocks don't reset immediately and when their clocks say "outside", they mean NOW! Then breakfast for them and a few minutes of play time.
Pour me a cup of java, black with sugar, please. Any chocolate frosted doughnuts in that batch?

<sneaking in the door to check things out>

That apple pie in the reach-in sure looks good. I just think I will sample CW's talent with pie making and have a slice. [:p] (One of the perks of being "da boss". [;)] ) The pie and a nice large, chilled glass of milk will make a nice early morning/late night snack.

Everything looks fine here.

Yall take care now, bye bye. [:)]

Really???? Thats awsome!!! Chestnut Hill or the Hill as it's reffered to in Philly is only 5 mins from were I live. Chestnut Hill back in the day (1700s) was a hang out or an area for Philadelphia's elite society. It still is today. There are lots of older colonal homes or manors in Chestnut Hill. I like to call it "Old Money". I on occasions go bike riding through Chestnut Hill, it really is a beautiful town inside Philly.

Latest news from the land of the Madison crazies party--140 arrests on Friday night alone on assorted charges. I stayed as far away as I dared, but had to go downtown on an errand this afternoon. Saw a lot of eye candy (sorry, 25-year-old hormones acting up again!!).

Ray good luck with your future endevors in the cooking industry. I do have a question for you, could you whip up some of those cookies for me now?? Sometimes I get sick of eating Oreo's but, they are still good. My high school home bakes their chocholate chip cookies and man was I addicted to them!! I still am, now when I go back to the building just for a visit or on a bussness matter I'll go to the cafateria and pick up some cookies. They are expensive though.... 35cents each.

Jay and CW I'm ready for those RIBS and fies now..........can I have some please?/ I'm ready!! [dinner][dinner].

Carl you are more that welcome to take me railfaning in the midwest anytime of the day, week, month, year. I could use that right about now because I am bored out of my mind.

I've been looking at some of the pages in Depot & Coffee Shop and it seems like the favorite subject of a lot of you other folks out there is food. I am between jobs right now and I am considering offering my skill as a cookie baker to ANYONE out there who might be interested, as a creative way of earning some income.

For the last 25 years I have been in charge of producing a lot of cookies, chocolate fudge brownies and cinnamon rolls for the rest of our railroad club members to munch on during the course of all our open houses, especially our "Fair Week" open house which is always held in August in conjunction with the Sioux Empire Fair. And our club members would tell you that no one makes a better cookie than I.[C=:-)]

While I have not yet decided what I would charge for a dozen cookies, you would get a minimum of three dozen from a single batch, and you would have a choice among chocolate chip, oatmeal with butterscotch chips & grated coconut, and peanut butter. And I make a pretty good molassis/sugar cookie as well. And I would fill and ship orders on a first-come-first served basis as my time will permit.

And while I doubt that I would ever meet any of you others face-to-face, I think this would be a fun thing to do. May I ask what the rest of you out there think of my idea? Thank you!!

Oh--Jay, can't wait for those ribs to be done!

(maybe I'll share my recipe for ribs--it involves marinating them in diet cherry soda!)

CW, gotta tell you about lemon wedges. When Ellen was a baby we gave her a piece of lemon to suck on, just to watch the faces she pulled. They were pretty comical, but she always would take the lemon anyway.

This summer, we tried it with her daughter (our granddaughter). Got one sour face, but that was it--she was too busy chomping on that lemon, and she was upset with us when we took it away!

Carl, I DO hope that your warmed up some fried fish for yourself. And,
you know you can always have it with lemon juice and tarter sauce.
Always keep things like items like that on hand, and in good supply!!

Breakfast this morning: good ole country breakfast w/ turkey bacon,
sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, grits, cream of wheat, scrambled
eggs, toast, jelly, jam, preserves, fried steak, fried porkchops, even
have some fried chicken for breakfast this morning (and, as usual,
it is NOT mudchicken). So everybody have yourselves a very good
breakfast, and it should last you until tonight for supper. (In other words,
stuff yourselves full on breakfast!!)

(And shrimp sauce to dip the fries in!).

Sarah, I'd love to take you away from that lonely house for some good Midwestern train-watching!
