Good Sunday morning, everyone! It's a glorious day: COOL AIR!

Sunday morning brunch: leftover pizza, along with western omelettes, and,
of course, sausage and biscuits & gravy, and fried taters.

CW, we cranked the band up extra loud last night. Didn't realize we blew the cool air all the way to KY! The people on the dance floor must've really taken a beating! [(-D]
Much cooler today, going to work in the yard all day. Will stop in later for supper and a cool drink. Willy

CSXrules: Philly is boring? With all those trains in your area it can't be that boring. You should see it where I live. No class 1's whatsoever. The only crossings up here are moose crossings. Speaking of the weather, our low for friday morning was 37! Cool enough for all of you?

Here's the supper menu for tonight:

roast beef w/potatoes, carrots & onions, green beans, and cole slaw.

Dessert: chocolate cake, and chocolate ice cream; or, you can have
white cake with caramel icing, and neopolitan ice cream, or sherbet.

Pat,
I imagine we'll have a BIG TO DO over the Labor Day
weekend at the very least;and if we have some good days
even after, you'll probably see one of us out grilling.
It' not time to put the grills up just yet.[:D][dinner]

Good morning everyone! Mookie, glad to see you enjoyed the food from
the weekend, that I saved for you! Personally made sure they were
guarded well, so you could have it this morning.

Breakfast this morning: toast, cereal, sausage, biscuits and gravy.

Pat, Labor Day Weekend is just a week and a half away. There will be
grilling all weekend. You asked which grill I prefer: gas or charcoal.
Doesn't really matter to me, but food does seem to taste better when
it's cooked over a charcoal grill.

Two more stars for Hemphill. That makes about 10 total. GO TO THE HEAD OF THE LINE AT THE DFAC.

Yesterday-Amtrak Hiawatha service Milwaukee to Chicago, remarks by Amtrak's midwest management crew and front to back tour of the refurbished equipment for the Empire Builder. Beside new wall finish, carpets and cushions, changes to fixtures in rest rooms make them a bit more spacious and easier to give them a good cleaning. Refurb on the Sightseer lounge added tables for four at one end of the upper level and, more comfortable seating. Nice job. Rode the EB back to Milwaukee and called it a good day.

Cool and sunny here today. Biscuits and gravy sound good. Need the energy carbs as we get back to work on the floor.

.....Official summer runs until around September 21th....and in general, at least here in central Indiana we can have very nice weather even in October....Nice clear days with sunshine, low 70's temps and crisp nights....No humidity problems. So Locomutt can't see why you won't have plenty of nice days to do more ouside grilling in your area....

My Labor Day will probably be just like any other Monday--work! In the event it isn't, the UP's UTU locals are having a picnic at one of the area Forest Preserves. Free food (various grilled things), plenty to drink, especially if you're into beer. I've found that I have to bring my own diet pop, though.

The nicest thing about these picnics is that quite often a lot of the retirees come out of the woodwork--you get to see a lot of your old buddies.

Lunch is now being served: have grilled some burgers, hotdogs, steak, and
pork chops. Also have corn on the cob, and there's plenty of cake, ice cream
and sherbet left for dessert.

Supper tonight: fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas and carrots.
And some of Mark's Clementine oranges for dessert.

Well have I got a story to tell today!!

I got to witness my very first big explosion today! I was going along with one of my co-workers on a road test. We were getting off of the Blue Route aka 276 on out exit Norristown which really brings you to the begining of Conshohocken, PA. Anyway from the ramp I heard and saw a very BIG ENORMOUS BOOM!!!!!! And tons of white hot flames and thick black smoke. I've never ever seen anything like that before. It turns out that some idiot cut a tanker truck off and it had crashed. This happened on the interchanges of Mid County on the PA Turnpike aka 476. Which might I add is a very very conjested interchange. This interchange is only one mile from were I was.

Thank goodness no one was hurt and the driver of the tanker escaped before the tanker blew. Becides this that has got to be the coolest thing I've ever seen, in terms of blowing stuff up. It bets building rocket launchers out of aluminum 6 in diameter exhaust pipes!!!!!!!!!!!

doghouse I hate to let you know this but Philadelphia is very boring in terms of freight traffic ever since the good old railroads like PRR, Reading, Eire, Lackawanna, B&O, C&O, ect......... shut down. Traffic just picked up and moved out west to places like Chicago which has all of the class ones except KCS. Over here we have more than enough abandoned lines and Rights of Way. There are also tons of passenger action over here like Septa, NJT, Amtrak.

Mudchicken, I wasn't talking about you being fried.

Today is Produce Day, so I've got breakfast all ready for you all, and
it's on the breakfast bar staying nice and warm: sausage, biscuits
& gravy, scrambled eggs.

Will be back in after I'm through with the Produce.
