Soup sounds good--I'll take the veggie, with a PB&NoJ, please. Just got in from a walk to the store--it's brisk out there.

Starting tomorrow, I may not make it in as often. Things to do with relatives. Chris, as far as I know we're still on for the 28th. I'll try and keep people updated as things progress. Stay warm, everyone!

Unfortunately, I remember when they tried to squeeze two trains on a gauntlet track on the South Shore. Tragic results--and the bridge is now double-tracked.

Good morning, all!! Still a bit sleepy this morning, but will try to get things
going in here. Have holiday music playing, and will be getting busy in
here, working on the pizzas for tonight. Joe, thank you for the bear claws.
They really hit the spot this morning.

Randy, thank you for doing dishes. Know the dishwasher is empty, so
someone must have sneaked in, ate a bunch, and decided to just leave
the dirty dishes in the sink, instead of putting them in the dishwasher.
Guess I'd better call Jim, and have him bring Duchess in for "overnight
guard duty"!!

Lunch today: nice hot beef vegetable soup, or cream of brocolli soup,
with grilled cheese sandwiches or PB&J sandwiches to go with
the soup.

Everyone have a great day, whatever you will be doing/ or wherever
you go today. But be sure you're back here at 7 p.m. EST for the
Saturday Pizza Fest.

....Wow, I'm sort of a clock nut and that binary tops the list of what's out there and being different. It would go right along with my variety of time pieces in this home office....which date from early 20th cent. {regulator}, to latest radio controlled piece....I'm no binary expert but it doesn't look very difficult to me to tell time with it.....

good morning
juice coffee and cocoa are ready to go.we also have some bear claw doughnuts too.
randy bio-diesel and ethanol are a win win situation.we wouldnt have to remain dependant to the gas guaugers.it cuts down on the emissions for the eviroment. and a bonus it supports the american farmer.

Evening/morning everyone, would have been in earlier, but got involved with an ethanol-gas-diesel debate on a forum in Madison, of which I had to give my nickel's worth (too much to charge just two cents!!).

Thanks for the fish, CW, as always, I appreciate it. Noticed the sink was getting a touch full, so rolled up the sleeves and did dishes again.

See everyone later.

Well, it's now 10:10, and I'm just getting back into the Diner. Hope everyone
enjoyed supper tonight. Also hope everyone has a good weekend, and I'll
see whomever is in here tomorrow. Going to watch "Numb3rs" now. Seems
like I've gotten hooked on watching that every Friday night.

Was it this one?
http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/lights/59e0/[;)]

Maybe some day I'll request one, as it would make a great conversation piece in my office, but in some respects I'm kinda lazy- when I want to know the time, I don't want to have to translate it in my head. And the better half wouldn't appreciate it, either. It would be an excellent choice for my son to give me, as thinkgeek is his favorite shopping site![^]

My favorite clock is one of those digital Atomic wall clocks- they run on batteries, get synched via a radio signal every night, never need adjusting for Standard/Daylight, and have a remote sensor for outdoor temperature!

Funny you should mention that, Larry, my parents farm has a curve like that, about once a year we get someone who misses the curve and flies (literally) into the pasture. The last one I guess required the services of the local police, fire, and EMT people, guess the landing was a bit hard. Usually they come up to the barn or house and sheepishly request a tow out of the pasture because they got stuck in the mud. I don't remember if we charge for fixing the fence, though.

Tree - our party is tonite - so they are letting us off at noon to go home and rest up.

We are all bringing "White Elephant" gifts. Don't tell anyone but ours will be a small bottle of something with alcohol in it and a CD named "Safe Sax". Maybe can dig up a candle to put in with it, too.

So far the weather is cold, but not wet.

Stopping in on the way to the office Christmas party. Crazy morning.

Last night we started with freezing rain, which changed to snow. Made enough of a mess that a lot of schools closed and work delayed two hours, too. OK, I can sit around the house. Wrong. Guy in a pickup truck went straight when the road turned (he turned his wheels, to no avail). Took out a pole with guy wires on it. Had to wait for utility to show up, then went home and started to gather up stuff for work.

Pager goes off again, residential fire alarm, right down the road from the earlier accident. We get on scene - no fire, but definitely something wrong. Lights flickering, smell of hot wiring. Still couldn't find anything, so went to talk to utility guys still working on replacing the pole. One of them checked the service drop and saw the problem right away - the poles whipping after the guys broke also separated the neutral wire at the house. Told the homeowner to contact a contractor to check the wiring. Power guys were working on fixing the service drop when we left.

As we were arriving at the accident scene the first time, several fire departments on the other side of county were being banged out for a possible structure fire. It was fully involved when they got there - nothing to save. Mother and three kids got out OK, father is military and in the desert. Lousy way to start your holidays... Please be fire safe this holiday season. I can live without the business!

Almost time to head up to the "party area." I'm famished!

Know it's a tad bit early, but here's the lunch and supper menu for today:

Fish, Fish, and more fish.

We have fishf fillets that you can eat without bread, with mac & cheese,
fish fillet sandwiches, and baked fish. Also have the requisite fries,
hushpuppies, and cole slaw.

Dessert today: apples, oranges, pears and bananas. Mookie's right:
we need to lay off the sweets for today. The only reason I had the
doughnuts for breakfast this morning: that's what I usually bring in
on Fridays.

........Muncie: 30 degrees at 9:45 am....It's been snow flurrying all morning but now just about stopped and sky is brighter. Did get about 2" of the stuff through here yesterday...about a half inch of it last evening when that secondary front passed through in a hurry.....When will this crap stop. 11.5" here so far this season and our annual norm is 27" and we've not even started winter yet.....sigh........

Hmmm - I heard Carly was singing about George Hamilton III. Anyway, he would have made better arm candy than poor Mick!

I am going to make me some good old toast with butter (margarine) only. My sweet tooth is going to get a cavity if I don't stop eating all the sweets in here and at work.

Good Friday morning everyone! Well, our temp this morning is about 34, 35 degrees
F.; in some places in the county here, the news this morning says there are
reports of black ice on the pavement. Looked outside for our paper, and our street
out front is dry. Maybe we bit the bullet again.

Breakfast this morning: doughnuts: chocolate covered, regular yeast doughnuts,
cake doughnuts, chocolate covered with cream/custard filling; raspberry danish,
apple danish, cheese danish, and about two dozen doughnut holes.

I'm pretty sure that with a welder, some steel stock, and patience and ingeneuity, we could work something out (not to mention some REALLY stiff front springs!!).

Sarah, c'mon over to where I live, the yard at Stoughton Trailer just froze into one BIG ice rink, a few co-workers *** near killed themselves on the ice today!
