Was out around town last night and was really amazed at the lack of traffic, especially considering that the weather the night before was atrocious. I'm staying home tonight...

Lunch sounds good...

Tom, so very sorry to hear about your grandmother. But I'd say she led a
very fullfilled life in her 98 years! Know you will miss her always. Glad you
all made it back home safe and sound.

Breakfast this morning: turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and
biscuits & gravy and your choice of fried potatoes or hash browns.

Lunch today will be: soup and sandwiches, cause I know there will
be some of you who aren't finished Christmas shopping, and will be out
finishing up.

Merry Christmas to all!!

Sarah, dear heart, you are NOT getting old!! There are times when all
of us have trouble thinking of things to say. How about I put a tape on of
Christmas songs by The Carpenters, and maybe an Oak Ridge Boys tape
of Christmas music.

Hope everyone is enjoying the burgers and fries tonight.

Larry, you are a genius! Burgers, cheeseburgers, and bacon/cheeseburgers
are on the menu for tonight!! Thank you so very much, kind sir!! And yes, there
is some chilli left for chilli burgers. There will be plenty of fries on hand, so
that Matt can have plenty, along with the rest of us. As Larry said, there is
plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, and onion slices to dress them up.

Burgers and fries (here comes Matt!). Plain old hamburgers, cheese burgers, there must be a little of that chili left for chiliburgers. Seems like I saw lettuce, onions, and tomatoes in the cooler for those who like to fancy them up some, and if you want some added taste without all the cholesterol, some of CW's famous turkey bacon.

At least I've got a good knowledge of basic photography after years with a "plain old" Pentax. The fun part is learning all of the 20 or so buttons and dials so I can use the many features without having to get out the book every time.

So far, though, so good. I am absolutely loving this camera.

Never fear, Jay: I have a whole supply of chocolate cakes, baked, iced, and
in the freezer. They're with the white cakes, yellow cakes, German chocolate
cakes, black forrest cakes, etc.

Jay, my favorite classical FM station has a recording of all four verses of the "Boston Charlie" version (from Pogo, your pal), sung by members of the staff.

Don't know if I'll be in for lunch today; family will have me chasing around. We're going to acquire a second car for the holidays (rental). I think I'll be the primary driver on that one, while our regular one goes over the river and through the woods--to Madison today and to Michigan over the weekend.

Went out and bought my Christmas present to myself last night - Digital Rebel XT. Now all I need are some trains to take pictures of...

Might have gotten it sooner, but got royally tangled up in the hammock yesterday. Didn't think I was that restless when I slept - must have been excited about the camera.

Of course, the really lousy roads didn't help any - 20 mph on a normal 55 mph highway. We have a lot of non-snow country folks here and they scare really easy. Got home and marvelled about how little snow was in the driveway. Didn't realize until later that a neighbor had kindly cleared it for me...

Is that another verse from "Deck the Halls with Boston Charlie"?

We are getting some warm air trucked, er, railed in from Denver and Cheyenne. High above freezing today, 40 degrees forcast for tomorrow. WOO HOO!

Jingle Dingle - last day of real work! No diner for a few days. Out looking for a 2nd hammock and asparagus killer. (Asparagus has to be a joke - no one would really, truly grow that evil green item and then (shudder) eat it!) Chocolate wouldn't even help that!

Before I go - want to wish all the forum famlly a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Years Eve and day. Drink milk!

May pop in before 2006, but otherwise see you all next year.

Good Thursday morning, all! Hope everyone has their Christmas shopping
done, by now.

Breakfast this morning: turkey bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, scrambled
eggs, oatmeal, toast. Giving you a nice selection today of a hot breakfast.

Lunch today will be: hot roast beef w/mashed taters & gravy on an open-
faced sandwich, and whatever veggies you want on the side.
