I have somewhat strange taste in music for someone my age. I listen mostly to records cds and tapes since the quality of music on the radio seems to have gone down hill lately. The types of music I like are old country (not the new stuff that is almost pop music) oldies (beach boys, supremes that kind of stuff) and my favorite is old time fiddle![:)] I also listen to some strange types of folk music and some ethnic music. I really dislike pop music, rap, and rock music. Oh yea and of course I listen to train music, my favorite is Utah Phillips.

Hit 99 here in Aurora today...now it is 95 at 5:49 p.m. and dropping (gee, maybe it will get all the way down to 75 by midnight, hey?).

In the 1950's an d 1960's at least you could understand the words of the songs, well, most of the time anyway!

as well as all the music from the 50s and 60s.

Also made some potato salad to go along with the ham and green beans.

Hmmmm...now I know why I only go home in November and December! I can deal with cold...99? When the temp. gets that high out here, all I have to do is head to the high country and the mercury drops! There's still snow on the mountains (though it is disappearing pretty quickly).

Maybe I should go climb a 14er. Every time I do that, I usually get snowed on, even in July and August!

You've got AC in the car when you're hangin' out at McClure Rd., right Eola?

Hi everbody what's for breakfast? I think that I jinxed the food here by saying it was good, because now it is bad to inedible. Today the options were fake hashbrowns and french toast. Yuck! I decided to go with cold cereal. Hope your breakfast was better.

Yes, Modelcar, Bobby Vinton is another of my favorites. Blue Velvet, Roses are Red,
love any song by him!

Saturday brunch is now being served: turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage,
biscuits & gravy, and cantalope.

Supper: almost weekly Saturday pizza night.

NO! NO! The stuff under the glass cover on the counter is just an example of what we serve here (IIRC, they may well be plastic!!). Your meal will be cooked fresh.

Of course, since we are open 24/7 and the cooks aren't always around, you can always feel free to step up to the grill! Bear in mind that you may have to serve the next customer, too...[:D]

I don't know if the coffee is any good because I don't drink coffee. I will probably find out tonight when my Dad gets here (he drinks a ton of coffee). I was wondering do they have Starbucks coffee in B.C.?

Finished the last leg of our trip to Georgia today and got home late this afternoon. This weather is upside down. We had a week of great weather in North Georgia. Temps in the sixties at night and highs in the low eighties. It was so hot coming through Indiana today, I was afraid I might have to ice down the car. Heavy storms just to the west of us coming our way, but very slowly. Lawn does need some water.

Forecast says more like this for the next week. If this keeps up, I am going back south to find cooler weather.

Got any Gatorade in this place? 55 Gallon IV Drip? Just back from 4 days of working in Western Colorado and the week almost got longer. UP dumped a coal train this afternoon in the east approach to Glenwood Canyon, west of Dotsero (Blair Ranch, aka ALLEN). What a mess, main line and siding blocked, a bridge (347.12) partially destroyed, and coal cars on the ground at every angle. Amtrak at Glenwood Springs (#6, California Zephyr) being turned around. You will see this in Monday's newswire safe to say.[|)][|)][|)][|)]

I think I have the oddest array of music. I have Chris Ledoux, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith and that sort of music, Redneck standup(Larry the Cable guy, Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, and Roy D. Mercer, as well as a robin williams CD) And then Show tunes, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Annie Get Your Gun, Cats, etc.

You know, even at this late hour, a thin strawberry shake sounds good. I've been pretty good about avoiding ice cream this year, but for some reason the water and soft drinks aren't satisfying right now.

It has cooled off outside tonight, but there's not much wind so the house is warm (we've never had a/c). I'm in the basement, which is nice and cool. I'm also late. Had a real problem with being caught on the wrong side of about four different trains on the way out of work. Ask Sarah--she was "with" me, in a sense. She got a chance to hear a pair of good old ex-CNW SD40-2s bringing a stack train back up to speed.

want to spell it. Think the heat is affecting the spelling part of my brain.[:(]

Add a big container of tea, crank up the ice maker and save some lemon wedges for the iced tea.

I am sure that everyone knows that the DD&CS malts and shakes are real and do not come from one of those dumb shake machines. (Darn you heck Ray Kroc!) You may not realize that the ice cream in all the ice cream items is from Graeter's in Cincinnati. Even if ice cream is very bad for your health, one taste of Graeter's and you would decide it's the way to go.

Joe, you are a lifesaver, helping out and making large containers of
lemonade!! In the summer time, nothing quenches the thirst like a
big ole COLD glass of lemonade[:D][^]

Jay, I've got plenty of milk and cream: how about we crank out some
homemade ice cream: we can do vanilla, chocolate, strawberry,
etc.

Supper tonight will be fixed inside the diner, under air conditioning in
the kitchen; but will be served out on the covered patio for brave souls
who like the heat.

Supper will be: fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, green
beans, and corn on the cob.

Oh yes I want to thank Joe for makeing the delicious lemonade. I love it!!!!

I missed breakfast today :( becuase, my mom decided to keep me up until 5:30 this morning, so I was able to hear the birds chirp and I was able to see a bit of a blue sky before I went to bed. Then about four hours later Carl desided to call me and take me railfaning over the phone, we got two SD40-2 ex CNW units on the point of a stack train. (Carl I'm jealous you got to see two trains, one that wasn't on the line up durring church.)I get to look at the father and the building only in my church.) Ok then I got up at 12 pm and then started to work on my paper in which I had a writers block.

Man is it hott out here. I didn't go to my softball game because, of the heat. I'd rather stay in the house or go railfaning. I went yesterday and didn't see a darn thing except for some white tailed deer.

CW I can't wait for din din tonight!!! I'm going to eat it up!!!! I think I might be brave and sit out on the patio, see if I see any trains. hehehehehe.

Ehrler's here in Lou. was about as good as UDF in that neighborhood.
If they were still in business,an "Orange Cow" would go extremely well
