Good morrow everyone. 73 degrees and heavy fog in Carolina, with an expected high in the mid 90s. Joe, thanks for breakfast. Mookie's mug is down.... Everyone take care

Evening.
Well, Grandpa and me got the shed finished today. In case you didn't know we tore off the old wooden boards and put on the new T-111 board. Now we must paint it. The cornfeild outside my house has tassels on it. I can't belive it. Also something I can't belive is that I only have 35 days untill school starts again. Ughhh. Well, something more that I can't belive is that we have 4 days till vacation! Again, i can't wait!
CW, thanks for supper. Will eat a burger, and split.

Joe, after our day today, supper is definitely on the light side:
Hamburgers or cheeseburgers w/lettuce, tomato, and whatever else you want on your sandwiches, and your choice of fries or potato chips, and a nice garden salad.
We had about 80 people show up for Produce this morning. They brought us: iceburg lettuce, little bitty packs of assorted fruit combinations, potatoes, little bitty watermelons.
Just an FYI for everyone: I won't be in first thing in the morning: have an early trip to the hospital for a regular checkup. Nothing serious (hopefully), so should be back in tomorrow afternoon sometime.
Everyone enjoy your burgers, and have a good evening.
larry got your email.look forward to that weekend.
Well, there. Just spent a whole bunch of money. Buying a new truck (although I have to drive to Niagara Falls Monday to pick it up), and just in time for the trip to Owosso.
Also made my hotel reservations (in Howell, about an hour and change from Owosso) for Friday and Saturday nights. After I leave Owosso on Sunday, I'm motoring straight to Deshler for a couple nights of camping, then home again.
I might have gone to Deshler first, but I've got stuff going on at work I need to be there for...

I read somewhere a few years back, that the Air Force didn't have a B-24 in it's museum at Wright-Pat. and finally had to get one from Pakistan, of all places. Somebody mentioned a B24A. Man alive, that is an early job. The D-version was already in use by 1942. Occasionally, we have a visit at the old AAF field here by a B17 and a B24. AT-6s and SNJs seem to be everywhere around here.
Mookie B-24 nothing! I didn't even know he had an office!

Lurch exceeded 60,000 miles over the last weekend. 20,000 more and we can consider the glue factory for him/it, if he doesn't die first or wind up in Adrian Speeder's zoo. (doesn't move very well, would make an excellent target).....Mothership leased a herd of slanty-eyed pickemups lately (and discovered they are not 3/4 ton rated for a reason, still working on the learning curve)....
Lurch sits on top of the garage because he can't fit in the garage (by 3 inches, unless we start talking convertible p/u)
B-24 appears to be Collin's bird per their website . (no airshow, but they are doing some kind of fundraising with it at JefCo Airport and an AT-6 Texan)
Another beautiful day under way here.....but it is so dry. Rain needed, but not today, my little barn is being painted.
I just finished up another mowing. Had to try out how my blade sharpening skills performed, having done it yesterday....greased it too, and polished that nice John Deere paint.

Per Wikipedia:
There are only three flying B-24s in the world, a B-24J named Joe of Fantasy of Flight in Polk City, Florida; a B-24A named Ole 927 of Commemorative Air Force in Addison, Texas; and a B-24J named Witchcraft of the Collings Foundation in Stowe, Maine. There are five complete airframes on static display in the U.S., five complete airframes on static display outside of the U.S. and nine partial airframes/wrecks in the world.
Commemorative Air Force was formerly known as the Confederate Air Force.
Got an air show in your area this week, MC?
Good Tuesday morning, everyone. I hope you all had a very good night, and are ready for a brand new day. Even if it is beginning to warm up again.
Coffee, juices, lemonade, Gatorade, iced teas (sweet and unsweet), and hot water for hot tea are ready.
On the warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, and the fixings for BLTs, including toasted bread.
Everyone have a very good morning, and I'll see you all after I get through with Tuesday Produce.
mudchickenhmmmm....very large B-24 just wen by my office window...didn't know there was even one left that flew...can they go drop a ton or so of El Toro Caca on RTD while they're here?
We had one still flying around up in the Hamilton-London ON region for a few years---I think it was recently(ca?) restored in the Hamilton area---not too sure if it had not been sold?

Good afternoon, everyone. Well, I went back to bed this morning, and woke up sometime after 12:30, when Walt came up and woke me up, asking me if I was going to sleep all day. I guess I really needed the sleep (although I feel like I could go back to sleep right now).
I've stocked the warmer bar for the rest of the afternoon and early evening: leftover beef tips and noodles w/the broccoli/peas & carrots medly, along with several other side dishes.
Quentin and Willy, we're supposed to back in the low 90s by Friday and Saturday. So guess our cool down is over. Looks like summer heat an humidity will be back with us.
Hope everyone is having a good day, enjoy the rest of it, and you all take care.

50 degrees at 6;00 AM at 5600 feet in AZ mountains. In Phoenix June was the coolest since 1913.
AZ monsoon season began about ten days ago and more than three inches of rain at my home so far.
Willy2 We have a 9:00 AM temperature of 74 degrees today. 90s will be back by Wednesday, so the chilly weather has ended here.

.......Yes, and we're to be back up to the 90's bracket towards the end of this week.
Modelcar Update: Willy...Regarding our comments of whether the 4th of July has a history of being too cool, etc....To my surprise, as I watched the late news last night from a major Indianapolis station...They reported that our 4th of July {warmest}, temp {this year}, was actually a record breaker....The coolest..ever..! 70 degrees, and normal would be about 85.

70 degrees, and normal would be about 85.
Record cold 4th of July weather in both Indiana and Nebraska, and 50s in New York State. It seems that as a general rule, the weather this year has been rather strange in many parts of the country. At least there haven't been any hurricanes yet!
.....And our new work week starts with a beautiful morning....Sunshine and mod. temps gets us started. 63 degrees a bit after 7 this morning and it's warming up now.
Seems we're to have a fairly dry and sunny week, with a small chance of rain later in the week. We are still needing more rain here. That 1/4" we received on the 4th certainly helped, but that was very little of what might be needed.
Actually, that small bit of rain did green up several things that were getting pretty dry. Corn crops in our area sure look good now, but much longer without more rain can't really be helping.
If nothing else, this was a l--o--n--g weekend...
Willy - cold have used that "low" 70 in Old Forge this weekend. Sunday morning we started out with something resembling 56 degrees...
Rained off and on Saturday, but we managed to stay relatively dry on the railroad. Sunday dawned clear and warmed up nicely.
Saw the fireworks in downtown Old Forge on Saturday night, and managed to get back north in time to join several fellow firefighters on their fireboat to observe the fireworks at Boldt Castle from the waters of the St Lawrence River. Very nice. Made for a very long day, though.
Woke this morning to a nice percussion symphony and a third of an inch of rain, both courtesy of Mother Nature.
Joe - what day(s) do you plan on being at Owosso?
just got home from camping out at deshler.while we were there someone brought a book about C&O engines. It was done by uncle Carl and friends.Carl also sent us a produce train.time to get things unpacked,do chores around here and then get things for work tonight.Tom computers are nice but you can get tired butt if you sit in front of them for too long.18 days to michigan.
Mornin. I hope everyone is bright tailed and bushy eyed this morning. 72 degrees and cloudy, with a guess of 87 and lightning all day and part of tonight. I have been setting up a Facebook page and looking up old friends. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Keeps me off the street, anyway.Everybody take care
Good Monday morning, everyone. We're starting out with a temp of about 63 with a little bit of fog. Going to be a day of sunshine, and a high of about 84 degrees.
Coffee, juices, lemonade, Gatorade and hot water for tea are ready. There's also milk and chocolate milk.
On the warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage and homemade buttermilk biscuits and scrambled eggs. There are also some boxes of cereal on the counter.
Mookie, here's your coffee mug, and when I see you coming in the door, I'll fill it up for you and bring it to you.
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, have a great morning, and take care.
Hello
Got a t'underin' boomer show up about 5-10 minutes our fireworks finished last night----talk about close. The funny thing was there were no mentions of t'underboomers or showers until AFTER the dang things showed up and monsooned on us!! Then it said----there was a 20% chance of A shower.
The last fireworks show had approx. 140 people show up----even more money for our neighbourhood youth group---
So, I'm off to work this am so have a good one----
Willy2 haven't read or heard anything that states factually that July 4th is often below normal for temperatures. A lot of people in Omaha actually seem to associate July 4th with the hottest weather of the year. Our National Weather Service office posted some July 4th climate facts for the last 12 years. The 150 year average high for the first week of July is 86.9 degrees in Omaha. An average of all the highs for the last 12 Fourth of Julys comes out to be 86.5 degrees, which is pretty close to normal. Our hottest was 110 degrees in 1936, so it can certainly be much above average too.

Willy....Our highest avg. temp is reached about the 3rd week in July for this area of central Indiana...Believe that figure tops out at: 86 degrees. Believe we're at about 85 degrees now for our daily avg. high temp.
1936 seems to have been a year of weather extremes....Believe some excessive heat numbers were reached in this area then, and back in our home area of Pennsylvania, we had a very distructive flood in the nearby City of Johnstown. Many fatilities and the flood was of course weather caused.....{and again in 1977}....Worst one was 1889. Over 2000 folks killed in that one...{The original "Johnstown Flood"}. Specs. can be seen on the internet.
I remember onece seeing a sign of high water on the Ohio river down near Louisville that occured about 1936. We were arriving into Louisville via boat having made the trip from Madison. Stayed overnight and went back to Madison the following day.
