Well, I'm back from Produce. Had a nice, peaceful crowd today of 65. Our delivery today: apples, butternut squash, celery, and potatoes.
For lunch, I have warmed up the leftovers from last night: Italitan spaghetti, lasagna and ravioli, along with garlic toast, and garden salad.
Let me know what you all would like on tonight's supper menu! I'm going to take your requests today. Thought you all might like a change of pace, so let me know what you want to eat tonight!!
You all enjoy lunch, your afternoon, and take care. I'm going to go take a nap!!
.....A most beautiful morning here....66.4 degrees right now. Continuing our "dry" week here. Much appreciated. Can bearly keep up with yard mowing. Every 3 days.
Wonder what it will look like after our return after Memorial Day visit out east. I'll mow it again on Friday before we leave and hope for the best.
Hopefully, that white car {in our Avatar}, can be parked at that same location over our period in that area as it is our favorite spaghetti place....{Lamonica's}. Location is near Jennerstown, Pa. Years ago, famous for a half mile race track and it's operation. Track is still there but believe {due to economy}, races will not be in operation this season....That's a first for a long, long time.
Quentin
and next to that we have the custom wood shop....ba dum bump!!!!

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. It's a cool morning here, temps are about 52, 53 currently, supposed to be down to 47, 48 by 8 a.m., then climb up to mid 70s for a high today.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready.
On the warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, BLTs on toast, oatmeal & toast, and there's some fresh fruit: oranges, blueberries & bananas.
Mookie, I have your coffee mug on the counter, ready to pour coffee into, when you get in here. (Someone else will have to pour, as I'll be busy with Tuesday Produce.)
You all enjoy your breakfast, have a very good morning, and take care.

Deggestylocomutt Esshesssss, Just barely got in here; the dog at the door wouldn't let me in until I bribed her with a "doggy treat" (Loco Mutt!) Johnny, that section of I-64 is a Royal Pain even when it's dry. I've driven through there going from Louisville to Ft. Eustis several times. (and back) [Although there is a nice cheap motel at White Sulpher Springs that's worth checking in to----not the Greenbrier either.] Walt, you had better inform that dog about who has authority in the café. The last time we went through White Sulphur (last month), we crossed the state line in a tunnel–much better than on a highway. In 1954, I went to the Greenbrier–but to see a movie and not to spend the night. I always had much less expensive accommodations in the area; a sister-in-law (Betsy) grew up less than fifteen miles from there (just over the Greenbrier-Monroe county line, on US 219); she lives in Lewisburg now. A sister-in-law of hers lives at the home place now. I have always enjoyed visiting in the area. Back in the summer of '74, just before we moved out here, we visited Betsy, and she took us up to Cass to ride the Cass Scenic Railroad. This was my second ride; the first was in the fall of '70 (it was really chilly). Are (were) you in the Reserve, which induced you to drive to Ft. Eustis? Johnny

Well, as far authority goes, I keep trying to move the cat out of the way,
but he just won't go away....So we have to try to be "Buddy, Buddy"
in these circumstances.
Funny you should mention that; we have here at the house both a dog and a cat.
Lets just say that they get along real well when we are around; not real sure what
happens when we aren't around to see things.
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
Adrian, in my last post, I neglected to wish you the best. I think I know where you are headed, so take care, Buddy, and bring that smile home quick and well. G-d bless you in your endeavours and keep you safe. From a navy vet, Nam era

Believe me, I used to only sneeze once or twice while I was typing(?)

Adrain, Vacation my foot; you got the 20, or 30 round magazines for that

Adrian!! It's very good to hear from you! I've been wondering about you. Which desert are you heading to?
Tom, sounds like you're now getting what we had last week, weather wise. Haven't checked the actual amount in our rain guage, from the storms Friday and Saturday, but it definitely isn't much! Guess the winds we've had took it elsewhere.
On today's menu:
Italian spaghetti w/garlic Texas toast, and salad, along with all the leftovers from our cookout yesterday.
Everyone enjoy your meal, have a great afternoon, and take care. See you all later on. Think it's time for a nap. Don't worry Mookie, I'll curl up in the recliner.
Adrianspeeder! Long time no see, Where'd you get the .22?

We have clear skies, with temps ranging from 40 to about 46 degrees this morning, and supposed to make it up to 70, 71 today. Quentin, did you all get any of that frost up your way this morning?
The coffee, juices, cider, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready.
On the warmer bar this morning: bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, grapefruit, oatmeal, toast, etc.
Everyone have a good morning, Mookie, your coffee mug is ready for you, and everyone take care.
I have been caught in heavy rain on I-64 between Covington, Va., and White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. We were thankful that there was very little other traffic to endanger us when I slowed down. Also, I have been in heavy rain when going through Gordo, Ala., at night, on US 82. Again, there was not much other traffic.
Aside from ice and snow on the highways around here, the worst thing is patches of fog that collect in low spots, particularly on the Interstates. There have been some nasty pile-ups because the drivers in front could not see where they were going, and were rear-ended when they slowed down (65 mph speed limit).
The closest I came to extreme difficulty was on my way to work one morning (I am thankful that I did not have to travel in the same direction as most working people), with slush on the divided six lane highway (not Interstate), and more snow falling. I was in the leftmost lane (I turned left when I left the highway), and, as I came over a hill on a right-hand curve, I noticed the front end of the car in front of me slowly moving to the right--and an eighteen-wheeler was in the center lane. I thought, "It's too soon for that car to be moving to the center lane,"--and I was right: one of the rear wheels clipped the front end of the car, which ws spun 180 degrees. I managed to get into the center lane and then back into the left lane. I did not see if the rig stopped or not; the driver may not have seen the collision. It may be that the driver of the car that was hit touched the brake after topping the hill. A co-worker who came in a little after I did told me that the driver of the car was just sitting there, with a horrified look on her face.
As I would tell the OTR men when they were leaving the plant, "Watch out for the idiots on the road."
mudchicken Trying to stay home this week...too much running around for the past three weeks. (Iowa is a big rice paddy wedged in between Illinois and Nebrasky. Waterloo is waterlogged. Does tin-shoes keep a pair of water wings handy? Lurch had to be fitted with a lightening rod, a rudder and a propeller to get home.)...Hope Cedar Rapids gets left alone this year.

No kidding- if we get another year like last year, I'm going to ask my Dad for permanent custody of the family canoe.

Rained on and off all day, then on my way home I encountered a "white out" - rain so hard I could barely see the road.
It would be called that here, too, but a white out was more descriptive.
I've been in worse, though. I was driving around St Louis on the north side beltway one night (enroute to OKC) when I got caught in a squall so bad that I could only tell I was still in my lane by spotting the Jersey barriers out the driver's side window. Didn't dare slow down too much for fear that someone else would run into me, or change lanes because I couldn't see the other lanes. Nasty.
