Good Sunday morning, everyone.  Quentin and Brian, it's not often that anyone beats me in here!  But, I had to go out early this morning, so didn't bother booting up the computer.  Sorry about that!

Coffee, hot water for tea, juices, lemonade, iced tea, and Gatorade are all ready for you all.  And on the warmer bar, nice fresh, hot cinnamon rolls.

We have a current temp of 69 degrees, going for a high of 81, possibly 82 today.  Everyone have a great morning, and take care.

Good morning, all, we had a GORGEOUS day here yesterday, and today looks like more of the same- highs in the low 80's, low humidity, and our current temp is 51 degrees.  Perfect for natural air conditioning!  Off to sing in the choir for early service!

Howdy

Cw thanks for the pizza.yes Justin we were in the farthest corner of Nw Ohio. Then we went to archbold and met up with our Nieces and Matts little cousins. They all got to blow the whistle on the "Erie Express".It was just a great day overall. Also in the museum I also found a unique picture of the docks in toledo or sandusky where coal was unloaded.it had an N&W coal hopper so I am guessing sandusky.I will double check on that.

At 6:07 p.m., we have sunny skies, and are under a severe t-storm watch until midnight.  Went to the library this afternoon, and as I entered, they were just finishing up with a Karate demonstration with little kids breaking the boards.  After that, there was a four girl band, and they sang a couple of songs.  It was to kick off the Kids summer reading program.

Mookie, I just gave everyone a choice of what they could have for breakfast.  Even  I could not have eaten one of everything I had on the menu this morning!Wink

Our Saturday Night Pizza Fest is now under way.  You will find all the pizzas that we normally have, plus about a couple dozen Italian Sausage calzones.

Oh....what a beautiful morning and now slightly after lunch....but that, I haven't had yet.   Another mowing has just been completed and we have a classic / old car meet nearby at  a "retro malt / burger" shop made from a 20's era gas station.....Really neat.

So....maybe some good food from there afterwhile and a walk around to see just what might be there this time.

Possibly some rain later but not yet.

Several train horns heard from NS Frankfort line 1 mi. north of us {and close to the car meet location}, heard while mowing so we have actitivity on that line this morning even if it is Saturday....

Good morning, it's Saturday. 69 and sunny in Carolina with NO lightning forecasted, PTL. One of my girls is outside guarding a tree and won't come in. I guess that means tree has a squirrel in it. Sooner or later, she will give it up and want in, but it'll probably be while I'm having a nap. Mooks, take care, I wouldn't want you to sprain anything.

Morning America!

CW, Thanks for breakfast. It was good! Dinner

Joe, hope you see lots of NS trains! I think it would be NS, because Wabash was one of the components of the merger into NS. There is a Chicago Cubs player from Deshler Joe. Did you know that? The announcer's at last nights base ball game didn't know where Deshler was. I knew where it was and the important freight lines through there! Oh yah, the cubs won!!!Big Smile

Well, grandma had to have a stint put in her corroted artery. Almost 100% blockage. Today I am going up there to see her. She came through really good, and the stint seemed to work!

CW, I, like Joe, am looking forward to the pizza fest tonight! Have a good day everyone!Big Smile

CW - you are too generous.  If I even sampled all that food, I wouldn't have enough energy to even get to the hammock, let alone get out of it!  Think I will stick with cereal this morning.

Watching one squirrel lately - all eat on the birdseed (rabbit included) but this one lays flat out on the concrete and dines.  He must be a Roman squirrel - they dined lying down as I remember.

But he is plenty quick when another squirrel jumps at him.

Off to do something.  Will be a big surprise to me when I figure out what!

Good Saturday morning, everyone.  Nice and cool this morning, with a temp of 63, 64 degrees, depending on where you live here.  Supposed to get to 80 today, with a chance of storms coming in, possibly around 5 p.m.  Maybe I'll help Sarah get the rest of the flowers planted today.

Coffee, juices, lemonade, Gatorade and hot water for tea are ready.

On the warmer bar this morning:  bacon, sausage, country fried steak, fried taters, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, fried country ham w/red eye gravy.  Decided I'd fix you all a Saturday morning country breakfast, so you'd have energy for whatever activities you have planned for today!  The warmer bar will be refreshed every hour, up to 1 p.m. EDT

You all enjoy, have a great morning, and take care.

Randy - Seems like I've mapped you there before.  That's wine country, and (was) the home of the Bath and Hammondsport RR.

Yep, when we run to Albany or points north, the company wants us to run the south route (I86 and I88), to reduce the toll money spent on the thruway.  Will probably run the thruway back if given a load out of Baldwinsville, but we shall see.

Afternoon/Evening everyone.....

Well, truck has been in the shop twice since last time I was here, and it's still not working correctly, I've got it figured to be either a bad wire somewhere ($$) or the engine computer has something wrong with it ($$$$).  A change of speedo sensors did not fix the problem.

Justin: have you heard the five famous words yet? "got a project for ya".

Heard some unconfirmed reports lately of our company getting more business.  Apparently, we now have 70% of the hauling contracts for MillerCoors plants we currently service, and we got our John Deere contract back.  All this means I will be very busy this summer hauling many things (which is the way I like it).

Ah, good old Friday fish fry.  Will sit down and have some....

Mookie, it was great out in the garden this morning, wasn't it?  Still on the cool side here, temp is in the upper 60s to 70.  I sure don't remember it ever being this cool, the end of May before!  But, I will gladly take it.  The really hot, muggy days of summer will be here before we're actually ready for it, so I'm not going to complain about it being cool here.

Our Friday Fish Fry is now under way.  On the warmer bar this afternoon:

FISH:  Catfish, cod, halibut, haddock, flounder, jumbo butterfly shrimp, scallops, rolled oysters.

SIDE DISHES:  cole slaw, corn on the cob, fries, hush puppies, breaded fried mushrooms, mac & cheese, baked beans, fresh greens, green beans w/ham seasoning

DESSERTS:  Apple, cherry and peach cobblers, yellow cake w/caramel icing, white cake w/chocolate icing, and pecan pie.

Hope you all enjoy your lunch, and have a great afternoon.

Nice sunny morning here in Indiana land....Should be that way all day.  Dry.

Have 2 tomato plants in buckets on back patio and they are growing several inches each day.  Small tomatoes will be produced and our neighbor has a big plant {in bucket too}, growing across the street and we'll share and have them as needed when they are ready.  His plant will produce regular size tomatoes.  These 3 plants will produce many, many dozens of tomatoes.  Know that from previous years.

RJ - we got our green but looks like we will join you in the shades of brown very soon.

CW - garden?  Coffee?  (be there right after I find Brian....)

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Looks like a good day shaping up:  rain is gone, veggies are planted in the garden, and humidity is out of here for a few days.

Coffee, juices, lemonade, Gatorade and hot water for tea are ready.  Regular Friday morning doughnuts, danish, and bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy are on the warmer bar.

RJ, hope you get the position you want most!  Good luck to you.

Justin, hope you Mom and Grandma are doing all right this morning.  Will continue to pray for them both.

Everyone enjoy breakfast, and have a good day, and take care.

 Evening all!

Just popping in to say hello. I do have some photos from a few weeks ago of the 844 that I need to post still. If you can't wait, Check out the link or wait for the post, your choice.  Maybe I will post this weekend....

Been so busy lately, got a job working testing concrete and compaction on construction sites. Hopefully won't be there long though. They pay a bit less than I would like, and its not what I want to do. I did take the Written and Physical tests for the Rock Springs Fire Department. 70 people applied, 40 passed the tests, only about half are expected to pass background checks. Sadly they aren't hiring until the end of the year when some of the seasoned guys retire. But I have other prospects, I have an interview to be an operator at the Gas processing plant that I was part of the expansion project on last summer. So hopefully my experience there, and knowledge of the plant as well as comfort about being there will help a lot.

Wyoming is just coming out of the "Green" time, it makes me sad when it happens. I was enjoying it being a bit greener around. And actually, it doesn't get green at all. It just gets less brown......

Well that's all from me for the night! Have a good night! Happy Birthday Brian!

A belated Happy Birthday to you Brian. Barbara & I went to the Cities and had banana splits in your honor. Wish you coulda been there.

Is that the Quad Cities?  Joanie and I spent the holiday weekend (up through Tuesday) in the Twin Cities area at my folks' place in Prior Lake.  I helped my Dad clean out his garage- filled a 20-foot dumpster.

Good evening, everyone!  Brian, yes, I still have your recipe for your pork chops, and that is what I fixed for your birthday dinner!

On the warmer bar:  grilled pork chops, w/baked potatoes, baked beans, garden salad, fresh sliced tomatoes, and for dessert, the chocolate sheet cake and ice cream, and there's some regular pound cake, some orange pound cake, and ice cream.  All flavors available on the ice cream.

While I was out today, going to get my ankle/arch support adjusted, it looked like rain most of the time.  Only once, on the way to the appointment, did I encounter any moisture, and that was only sprinkles.  Will start back tomorrow, wearing the ankle/arch support.  Back to the beginning, of wearing it no more than an hour or two a day, to see how it will work out.

Brian, enjoy your birthday dinner, and I hope you've had a very good and Happy Birthday today!!  Everyone take care, and see you all later.
