Even though no one has been in here since Tom this morning, Mutt has the grill going for our Sunday Dinner.  On the grill:  corn on the cob, potatoes, steaks (sirloin, angus, rib eyes), hot dogs, hamburgers and brats.

Other side dishes:  mac & cheese, cole slaw, baked beans, slice tomatoes, sliced onion for your burgers, potato salad and cole slaw, along with cantaloupe, watermelon, and for dessert:  A yellow cake sheetcake, w/red/white/blue icing and plenty of ice cream.

We're fixing enough for today and tomorrow, so we can all relax and participate in any Memorial Day services tomorrow.

Good morning everybody. 68 degrees and overcast, it seems, in Carolina today .Depending on who one listens to, we may have more lightning later today. That will mean disconnecting the wireless and taking to the hills again.....  I talked to a guy in Hong Kong yesterday, and one in Azerbajian too plus a bunch of others. Radio has been fun lately. Everybody take care and stay cool.

Good Sunday morning, everyone!  Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day, although we do have a pretty good chance of thundershowers around for this afternoon.  (And we were planning on grilling out tonight!)  Guess we'll have to wait and see.  Maybe, if it isn't storming too bad, we can still grill out.

Coffee, juices and hot water for tea are ready.  Mudchicken, even have some Gatorade available, if you'd like some!

On the warmer bar this morning:  bacon, sausage, eggs and pancakes.  We have real maple syrup, blueberry syrup, and there's several different fruits (like blueberries, strawberries, etc., that you can put on your pancakes.

Justin, glad you enjoyed the pizzas last night.  Kind of looks like you were the only one in here last night, doesn't it?  Also, Justin, it looks like you've gotten a very good list of things and places to see when you and your parents go to Colorado.  I think you and your parents are going to really enjoy yourselves!

Everyone have a good morning, and take care!

Wow!!  It sure has been slooooooooow in here today.  Maybe this will start bringing people in:  our regularly scheduled Saturday Night Pizza Fest is now on the warmer bar:

1.  Anchovie

2.  Canadian Bacon

3.  Pepperoni/mushroom

4.  Goetta

5.  Hawaiian

6.  Supreme

7.  Italian Sausage Calzones

Desserts tonight:  chocolate cake, apple pie, cherry cobbler and peach cobbler, all with ice cream.  Whatever flavor you like, as there is just about every flavor imaginable in the freezer.  And all of it homemade, too!!

We enjoyed the Flea Market this afternoon.  We saw our friends from High Sierra Barbeque Sauce, and walked and walked and walked.  Sarah did find some begonias there for sale, and bought some.  Guess tomorrow or Monday, she'll be out planting them, probably in the back yard, maybe two or three of them will go in the front yard in the begonia bed.

Everyone have a great evening.  Take care.

Careful, Justin--remember all the warnings we have received recently about overeatingSmile.

Yesterday, we took care of the hardest part to painting the house: Ricki decided on the colors. I went to get the paint this morning--and the store was out of five gallon buckets of the base. So, I will have to find other things to do Monday and Tuesday (more may be in Wednesday). But, we are promised four or five (if it rains today) days of rain showers, and the carport ceiling will take only so long to paint.

It does look as though almost everybody has  extremely importsnt things to do today; I ahve seen hardly any activity on the threads that interest me.

A good weekend to all.

Good Saturday morning, everyone.  Decided to sleep in a little bit this morning, and get through the paper before coming in.  I figured everyone else was doing the same thing this morning.

Coffee is on, there's hot water for tea, and the juices are freshly made.  On the warmer bar this morning:  cinnamon rolls and blueberry muffins and strawberry muffins, fresh out of the oven.

I hope there will be some of you straggling in, and that I haven't made a mistake getting breakfast together for this morning!  I imagine there are quite a few who have other plans for this holiday weekend.  We three here in Louisville, will be going to the big Stewart Flea Market and Antique shindig at the Ky. Esposition Center later on, probably around 1 or 2 this afternoon.  So our Pizza Fest might be a little bit late tonight.

Everyone have a good day, and take care, whatever you'll be doing today.

Larry, those pictures are very good.  I'm not Mookie, but thanks for sharing them with us!!

Joe, we just finished watching the ball game.  That was a real pitcher's battle, wasn't it?  (Cincy won 3 to 1, for those of you who don't follow

the Cincinnati Red baseball team.)

Think I'm gonna get a bowl of cobbler and put some ice cream on top of it.  Maybe it'll help cool me off:  we have a temp of 87 degrees F. at

9:50 p.m.

Tree - your pix are beautiful.  That would be a great place to visit.  Wouldn't want to live there, however, since it would take every day just to keep it clean.  Prefer cozy.  But the location would be great for a hammock and an ice tea....Approve

That's why I live here....

Cleaning would be tough - the place gets a lot of company these days - by the tour boat full...

Okay, guess I do need to go get my eyes examined.  I thought I was on under my screen name, and not Walt's, when I posted the lunch menu/supper menu.  Blush

Anyway, everything's been replenished on the warmer bar for tonight.  The cold dishes are in the fridge (slaw and salads).

Our temp made it up to 87 today, and humidity is back in the weather mix.  You all enjoy supper and desserts, have a good evening, and Joe:  I also hope the Reds do well tonight in the Battle of Ohio.   Looks like it'll  be a warm and muggy night.

Good afternoon, everyone!  Beautiful day out, tough a bit on the very warm, almost hot side outside.  Not much of a breeze blowing, either.  Going to make it a hot time in the ole town for local volunteer fire departments doing roadblocks collecting for the Crusade for Children, which is coming up in a couple of weeks!

On our menu for the rest of the day:  our Friday Fish Fry:  fish choices range from catfish to whitefish, shrimp, scallops, baked clams, and rolled oysters.

^~^ - been busy doing not much this morning.

Looks like most of us are staycationing this weekend.  Driver going to fish at local dam.  Beat the crowd, hopefully.  No camping there.

It is so doggy-quiet this morning.  I woke up 2 neighborhoods at 5 am just lowing the venetian blinds.  Every dog in area went off. (it hit the wooden sill) I think I am on to something.  If they like to hear their dogs bark I will do blinds, garbage and newspaper at 5 every morning.  Repeat as needed.  Right now I can't get a woof out of anyone, so will enjoy the quiet for awhile.

Mutt/Joe - prefer cake on plate, not in cage.  And make it a platter......

.....We too will be among the travelers.  Tomorrow morning, headed to the home land of Pennsylvania.  Always head there over Memorial Day time period as our little home town has one of the largest celebrations for the special day.  Memorial services for those who served, etc....

We're a vet too and of course fit right in.  One gets to see so many folks from the home town setting and with all the visitors and so on.

One of largest parades in our Somerset County happens in our little town.  A town that dates to 1778.

Years ago I had the honor of leading said parade with the mayor riding with us in our Corvette....Many years ago.  In my mind, that was serious stuff and think the parade {theamed for the Memorial Day}, occasion was / is very appropriate.  Parade has a long history of decades upon decades....More than 70 years in my memory.

We do wish all who will be traveling...to be careful and to have an enjoying visit, etc....And of course to remember the significance of this  weekend.

Congrats on catching the cat. That's sort of how our Cat Trapper came to us;

or should we have changed it to "Trapped"? Seems he knew about humans

probably better than we did, and decided that a warm place and steady food

was better than life on the street.

Might want to be Extra Careful about putting a piece of chocolate cake out,

you might get a stray from Nebraska! Smile,Wink, & Grin

(speaking of Straying, anybody seen her today and tell her the coffee

has been ready for quite awhile; along with a Blueberry Muffin?)

It's a beautiful day outside, and promises to remain so all weekend!  Of course, the parking lot at work is about empty this morning as many are getting an early start to the weekend.  I heard last night that the camping areas at nearby state parks are already filled to capacity.

Got some stuff to get done this morning, but I'll kick back with tea and a bearclaw for a bit beforehand.

The weekend holds some train trips - it's opening weekend!

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Hope everyone had a very good night.  I don't recall waking up at all during the night, so guess I had a good sleep.

We've got a temp of 61 degrees now at 6:01 a.m. EDT.  Humidity is supposed to be creeping up today, and we have a slight chance of some pop-up storms this afternoon.  Going for a high in the mid 80s this afternoon.

Randy, sounds like you'll be spending this Memorial Day weekend on the road.  Be very watchful of all the people who will be out on the highways this weekend.

Coffee, juices and hot water for tea are ready.  On the warmer bar this morning:

Bagels, bear claws and our regular assortment of doughnuts, danish and muffins.

Everyone who may be traveling this weekend, to visit relatives, going to cemetaries to pay respect to the veterans and family members, please be careful, and come back next week to us safe and sound.  Just remember the reason we have this long weekend, and the sacrifices our military men and women have made for us to have the freedoms we have.

Evening all....

85 degrees out right now in Waco, TX, just winding down after a warm day, got in the 90s in Fort Worth.  Have to go a couple more miles to drop off a Miller load, then back to Fort Worth for another load to Waco, then run over to grab a glass load for Milwaukee for Monday (I think).

Got to run the Oklahoma Turnpike system the last two days, while the road itself is pretty good, the service plazas leave a lot to be desired.  Just not much there compared to the eastern toll roads.

Word has it that the bill ending the 55mph limit for trucks in Illinois is now on the govenor's desk, if he signs it, we can do 65 in the state beginning the first of the year.  Here's hoping it passes....

Good luck in the sandbox, Adrian, just watch who you give the lead poisioning to.....

Night, all....

Well folks, it' s just after 9:30 EDT, and I'm just getting back in here.  Hope you all managed to find something for your supper, as it's too late now to be cooking.  (Sarah and I have been out in the yard most of the afternoon and evening, and I'm about ready to go night-night!)  I've definitely had plenty of fresh air today!!

You all have a good evening, what's left of it, and I'll see you all in the morning.  And Adrian, take care of yourself over there in the sandbox, please!!!!!!

Well, don't swim.  Afraid of water, so won't boat.  Don't bowl (do play a mean gutter ball game!)  But do like the looks of water, so a small "villa" close to the boat entrance would do nicely.  Not as big as the playhouse - and all on one level, please!

So if I make the homemade kind - maybe I can get the gate house?

Well, here's the boat entry, where the Boldts met their formal guests:

Or maybe you'd prefer the "playhouse" - also known as Alster Tower.  There was a bowling alley inside...
