cherokee womanI'm fixing beef stroganoff for supper. We'll also have mixed vegetables (corn, beans, peas, carrots, etc.) along with mashed taters w/brown gravy, and how about some nice dinner rolls or creasant rolls to go with everything.
.
Wow, such fixins. Thanks Paula. Now if we had some lemon pound cake, it would be super.... Thanks

tree68 It's just me and the dogs, so the laundry doesn't get very big since the dogs don't have any at all (a couple of towels and a blanket notwithstanding). Now if I could get them to help with the vacuuming (since they're the primary reason I have to vacuum).

Thnks for supper CW! Mom is suddney much better now! I guess miricals do happen! Thanks for thoughts and prayers. This is a funny story, Mrs. Stuckey ( my science teacher) went on a trip with the 8th grade class to DC. She had to go to the bathroom. When she was finished going to the r.r. she tried to get out. The kids wewe holding the door shut! Then Mr. Rash got on the bus radio and started broacasting what was happening. Then the bus driver started swaying back and fourth so poor Mrs. Stuckey fell down... I felt bad for her for like 2 seconds! The entire bus was busting out laughing!

Our anticipated yard work for today is now accomplished. Nice day to get it taken care of.
Filled the roller with about 500 lbs of water and hooked up the little John Deere to it and started on the lawn rolling chore....Believe it is much nicer now....seems much smoother. Wasn't sure if the ground was too solid to compact, but believe it really did help. While at it, with rolling finished, hunted down the areas some leaves blowed into over the Winter and engaged the mower {mulching type}, and made several passes over where we found some wind blown leaves and mulched them.
Wife Jean cleaned up some Winter sticks, etc.....along the street and actually threw down some grass seed at various spots and now it looks like we're about ready {in about a week}, to commense our mowing.
Sunshine all day....a bit of wind but it wasn't bad running the tractor.
Yard looks a lot better....Been wanting to get that accomplished for several years now, and finally succeeded.
Saw several trains east and west on our Frankfort line {NS}, today....

Must be nice to get out and work on the yard Quentin. Mine is a bit soggy yet. I did fire up the edger, mower, trimmer, and blower on Tuesday to make sure they'd fire when we'll need 'em soon. It's in the mid or low 40s today.

CNW 6000Must be nice to get out and work on the yard Quentin. Mine is a bit soggy yet.
It wasn't bad......Nice sunshine and the temp was low 50's and a little wind, but as you say, good to get out and get the project started and ready {very soon}, when mowing time will be a every few days event. The light rain we had yesterday helped to soften the soil just enough the roller was rather effective.

Um...Mooks....the weather liars just said ma nature might is gonna start playing catch-up in the moisture department. We might want to consider not burying the mucklucks in the closet quite yet and Driver might want to talk nice to the snowblower. (Talking 15-24" here?)
DeggestyIf your dogs are like some I have known, they will not stay around a working vacuum cleaner. The one that was most averse to vacuum cleaners was the worst offender. I am confident that he was part porcupine, because when he wagged his tail, hair shot out of it.
Dalmatians are walking snowstorms, so there's short white (and the occasional black) hairs everywhere - especially at corners and doorways where he might brush against things.
The Sheltie mix has long hair, and she's doing some shedding right now. Mix the two together and you get some interesting dust bunnies.
Since the Dal has been deaf since birth, and the Sheltie has recently gone deaf, neither gives the vacuum as wide a berth as they would if the could hear. I've been known to vacuum right next to the Dal (although he doesn't like the exhaust). The Sheltie remembers when she could hear, and stays away.

Good Friday morning, everyone. Pleasant, with a temp in the mid to upper 30s this morning.
Joe, please wish Stacey a Very Happy Birthday from the Flat Wheel Cafe! I'm sure you and Matt do have several good surprises for her!
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, and hot water for tea are ready. And Mudchicken, if you need/want it, got some hot cider on hand.
To help celebrate Stacey's birthday, there are blueberry muffins and chocolate chip muffins on the warmer bar this morning, along with bagels, bear claws and our regular assortment of doughnuts and danishes this morning.
You all have a very good morning, and see you in a bit.
Spring has sprung,
The grass is riz,
The leaves have come upon the triz.
I wonder where the flowers is?
. . .
And the radar is showing snow off to the southwest....

Such awful weather comments and projections this morning......It's Spring here and looks the part.
Bright sunshine and a cool start for our day but it will be moderate as the day "springs" on.....
Little leaves on bushes now....Lawn greening fast...{mowing will be required next week}, and it looks rather nice and smooth now from my rolling of it yesterday.....birds all over the place....Robins fighting as seems to have become the rule....
Getting ready to head out to a mid morning breakfast....and enjoy the beautiful morning. Even the truck is still clean.
Wonder if I might even see a train or two on the way into town for said breakfast....
Surprised to see all the snow flurries in NYC this morning on the Morning Joe program....None of that foolishness here this morning....{thanks}.

SIDE DISHES: 1. Cole slaw; 2. Corn on the cob; 3. Fries; 4. Onion rings; 5. Hush puppies; 6. Macaroni & cheese; 7. breaded fried mushrooms; 8. And for those who like them, greens (mustard & kale mixed together)

Hope you all enjoy lunch, and your afternoon. Everyone take care, and see you all later on. For now, it's back to laundry.
Lunch looks great, as usual so I will sneak in early before some of the big eaters arrive.
Pardon the smell of smoke - just got back from a large grass fire and I was on the downwind side. Fortunately nothing other than grass burned. One house was potentially threatened, but it never got close, although the fire did burn right up to the edge of the highway in a couple of spots.
One of these days these people will figure out that dry grass burns. This was a repeat "customer."

Larry,
my fater is going through training to become a voulnteer fire figter. We have some "repeat costomers" as well here on the Cloverleaf Division. Anyway, quite atrocious weather for spring... 45* seems cooler with the wind chill. Chuck Loften ( Quintion might know him) however promises us some warmer weather for the weekend. Mom still seems to be doing better, that's good news. We have a neighbor cumming up in a few minuets to finish putting in our new walk-in shower. Finnaly no more "bath tub" showers! I don't know If i told you guys already but my scoutmaster E-mailed me the other day, about the Amtrak trip. It sounds quite promising!!! Yay! The cod was good CW! we had fish "samiches" ( A little Lary the calbel guy there) today for lunch at school. Kind of good, thought it was gonna' crawl off my tray for a minute! CW's cooking is far better though. Today was a half day and now I'm on spring break.
Have a good evening everybody!

Ah, yes, the Labmatian (or is she a Dalbrador?) we sit from time to time leaves her marks on my pants legs and much else. The eighty-five pound yellow Lab +? we had for nine years was not firmly attached to his hair, either. He has been gone for five years now, and I still smell him when I use the vacuum cleaner (I have changed the bags, several times). We also sit a poodle, who does not leave her hair anywhere.
Dachshunds.....Those lovable creatures leave very little behind.....{like hair}....Had 2 {one right after the other}, for 33 years. "Dainty" and "Ditto".

Good Saturday morning, everyone. Nice and cool here this morning, with a temp of 38 degrees; supposed to get up to 62 today, and sunshine. Looks like a very good day in the offing.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready. On the warmer bar this morning: cinnamon rolls, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, tater tots, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, grits & toast.
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, and your day today. I hope to see everyone back in here around 7, 7:30 tonight for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest.
