yep, have one: http://emd_sd_60.rrpicturearchives.net/locoPicture.aspx?id=1504
I have just read on the WCInfo YahooGroup that all the WC 2000's are headed out to British Columbia. From what I understand, 2001 and 2004 are the only two that remain in Wisconsin. WC 3005 as well has already headed over there along with a few more GP40's to follow. I guess CN wants loco's with Dynamic Brakes due to the last derailment they had! Thats your GP40-2LM's for ya...NO DYNAMIC BRAKES!!!!
Sad to see more WC's disappear from the good ole' WC territory. Now I have to travel to another country to see them!
Current operating Wisconsin Central SD45's:
WC: 6497; 6529; 6605; 7495; 7498; 7501; 7502; 7504; 7506; 7507; 7514; 7515; 7519; 7522; 7524; 7525; 7526; 7527; 7530; 7531; 7532; 7551; 7554; 7637; 7638
All others have been retired and are awaiting SCRAPPING!!!! The WC 7520, one of the older Anniversary units has now been scrapped at CN's Woodcrest Shops. The WC 3018 is currently in for repairs after the grade crossing accident it was involved in. WC 1564 is as well in the shops for mechanical work. Wouldn't suprise me if she isn't getting rebuilt so they can paint her into "CN 1564" That would just add another lost Wisconsin Central locomotive to my list!
one more 66 SD45 left. this is horrible
i like to think of it not as being scrapped and virtually destroyed, but rather reduced to nothing more than number boards. since most of the fleet seems to have had their boards stolen
how many are in homewood awaiting the torch now? sounds like 6620 is gone. may he rest in peace
i've got to go to chippewa falls more often and catch any remaining units if i can. does anyone know when the CN manifests come through usually on that line? i would appreciate the info so i can get some pictures
A lot of times I don't even like the word "scrapping", but I guess thanks to CN everyone now has to deal with it! I would rather put up with the BNSF/CSX/NS/UP version of just patching. CN would rather get the money off of them by scrapping them for the high rate of metal prices right now.
As for the numberboards, I personally have the former WC 4010's and WC 1505's numberboards. Cost a lot but I can live with that cause there were only 4 made!
As for the Chippewa Falls trains, they change all the time. I have noticed that they tend to run in the morning after sunrise but prior to 10am. There usually is at least one WC mixed into the consist!
Three WC SD45's LEFT!!!!!!! WC 7514 is still working in Neenah and jobs around town. The other two from what I have heard are working Neenah and Stevens Point, WI. All other retired including 7525/7551/7638. All stored at Woodcrest, IL in a place unknown due to no photos showing up anywhere.
CATCH THEM WHILE YOU STILL CAN CAUSE THEY WILL BE GONE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!!!!
Don't look forward to CN "Dontating" anything to anyone. The way it looks right now is that they want to sell and scrap all SD45's.
As for the remaining ones that are left, I copied this from the WcInfo YahooGroup and it was posted on 1/21/07:
--WC 007514 NEENAH WI 01 21 0820 U Departure L52481 CN WC 007519 NEENAH WI 01 21 0951 U Departure A41231 CN WC 007531 HUMBOLDT MPLS MN 01 21 0839 U Departure R91681 CN 7502 arrived Markham the 19th and 7532 arrived Memphis, TN the 18th. So this leaves us with 7514, 7519, and 7531. -Matt Lastovich *LONG LIVE THE WISCONSIN CENTRAL*
WC 7514 is now in Green Bay, WI. Good thing its moving further from Woodcrest and Memphis!
WC 3021 and WC 3023 were both spotted in Neenah today as well.
ACCORDING TO A POSTER ON THE WCINFO GROUP, THERE IS ONLY ONE SD45 LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!
HE CLAIMS 7514 IS THE ONLY ACTIVE ONE AS OF TODAY. JUST GIVE IT ONE DAY AND I WILL HAVE AN ANSWER ON THIS ONE.
SD45's No Longer! WC 7514 was headed down to Woodcrest on Q11841-25. This ends the operation of Wisconsin Central SD45's in the state of Wisconsin. In that train there was WC 3006, CN 6925 and CN 57??.
:-(
No more SD 45's
sadest day of my life i loved them even though i only saw 3 of them.

MRL still has a handful, and NREX has some in the 641Xs.

Umm yea besides the WC ones in service virtually everywhere.
Actually Max, the only one on the rails is the 7525. The ones that were going back in service are still sitting around. I believe they torched the idea of re instating them.
Nope, just being moved DIT. The 7525 is on home rails, but for how long? The auction ends May 10th, and if so im guessing it will be retired for scrap soon after.
Dang 7528 is gone! a.k.a 6528. That was my favortite SD-45. Got a lot of stories behind it. The unit came for BN, hit a gravel truck in Chicago, got a UP nose job, got in WC paint, later it got rebuilt, roamed the rails for a while. The CN came and killed her. Here's the link of her in death row. I hate to see her go.

The #7528 is the unit that the WC locomotive simulator we have is patterned after.

i know the feeling, man. i lost 6620 about a year ago. he was the only SD45 i remember ever seeing in my railfan days (as opposed to beforehand when i was just a train-watching person). and the worst of it all is it's damn near impossible to get an HO WC Sd45 since nobody currently makes them. i'd have been able to renumber one to 6620 if one was actually out on the market.
BOOOOHOOOO!!!!!
Its so sad to hear of locomotives being retired and scrapped!
Here's 3003's sister 3002 at Stevens point on Augest. i got two WC GP40s there. 3002, and the retired 3005. Here's 3002
