 Very cool.  WEST SIDE!

Last hood I was in got shot up.  Actually, the only way I survived that hood was by wearing a hood.   Tis why I am in Iowa now, but not on the West Side.

You know, last Thursday I went to work early to get a jump on the day and two things happened that I felt were sad commentaries on the human condition.

Thingy #1:

I walked up to the job trailer to unlock all of the padlocks (it's Milwaukee - you can't keep them out just slow them down until they figure it is too much work to rob you and give up) and I looked over to the east side of the alley and discovered that in addition to the used baby diapers that have been sailling down from the apartment building next door they decided to just throw out the whole crib.  So now I get enjoy baby poo and baby cribs.  Ever needed a snow shovel in July?  I've got a reason, if you can't think of one......

Thingy #2:

My day was almost over, and I was helping our guys take out the garbage (except we actually put it dumpsters, unlike the local folk).  While outside next to a row of 4 outhouses that were set for the construction workers, I noticed some movement in between 2 of them as I walked by.  I asked the guy what he was doing, and he told me that he was taking a ****.  I told him he was trespassing, and that if he really had to go he should at least GO INTO ONE OF THE OUTHOUSES AND PEE and not lay down a big puddle that we all got to walk in at the end of the day on the way out to our trucks.  He looked at me like I was retarded and finished up, and the left the site.  After my incident in the morning (see #1), I wasn't surprised at all.

Why the stories?  Well, I thought I would swing by the good ole' train forum for a laugh or two and after reading this thread I feel that I am still in the hood of Milwaukee.  Glad to see that we've accomplished so little in so much time.

I'm waving with one finger.

You think this is bad? Just wait until inflation kicks in.....

And I didn't wave.

I waved at the neighbor gal today as I drove by her house.  I saw no one trackside today, the police seem to be doing their usual fine job.
