And boy was he freezing, and blowing his nose.
But what to his wondering eyes should appear,
but a Sleight on a flat car and eight reindeer.

I gleefully hoped that it was good Saint Nick,
to help out the Brakeman, and help him out quick.
As he pulled up beside, to fix it with a snap,
the brakeman stood in awe, and took off his cap.

No sooner did he do this, then the cold got his ear,
and he put his cap back on, and stood back in the clear.
