Wow, don't come in for a couple of days and see what I miss!
Quentin - I, too am sorry for your loss. As you say, she's in a better place now. Celebrate her life.
Two days on the railroad down, two to go. Yesterday it was as conductor, so I got to spend part of it in the air conditioned coach. Today, I was engineer. The only air conditioning in that F10A is the open windows...
We got a thunderbumper about 4 AM, but by noon there was nary a cloud in the sky. At least it was breezy, 'cause it was hot.
I'm sitting outside the station, using their wireless Internet. I'm glad I wasn't having dinner in the restaurant across the street, 'cause that crying baby would have driven my nuts (for an hour, no less).
Grandson riding the train tomorrow - should be a hoot, as he hasn't seen Papa in conductor's garb.
Sitting here watching the parade into the mountains. Bumper to bumper since noon, for the most part - and it's 9PM...
Skeeters are starting to make their presence know, so it's about time to head for the chateau (camp car).

Hiiiiiiffft...
Got the session done...and, found that I now weigh 145lbs....eeek!!! Of course it is from not feeling very well a lot of the time and eating very little..which, of course, made it rather interesting vis a vis my diabetes and other ills...
Next appointment is going to be a general check to see if it took..which it [curse mode]beeeep[/curse mode] better have

Good Morning
We are going to be up to 90F today with little humidity...in the evening, however, it will be 85F feeling like 99F...ain't that fun? Yes, it is!! No, it isn't...well who cares anyways....
Why am I up so dang early? One of the wonderful side effects of chemo is its induced insomnia....
Another is my weird sense of humour takes it to a new level...on another forum I am on I bid a crabby poster..one of those who comes on only to attack another member..with a 'fond adieu'......and a cat pic from icanhascheeseburger.com....
Today, I am going to go to Walmart..with the proverbial mask on just to see what the reactions will be...
Quentin: I agree, the version that they did is definitely better...
Good Saturday morning all. Temp is somewhere in the middle to upper 70s this morning, with a nice breeze blowing this morning. Looking for a high of 104 today. Humidity is still down, but the heat index will remain in the 105 to 115 degree range.
Quentin, that is a very good picture on the Somerset Daily American site. You, Erin and rest of family take care today, and we'll be remembering you all today, especially.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Our Saturday Buffet is ready and on the breakfast bar.
Everyone take care, keep as cool as possible, and see you all later this evening for our pizza fest.

Peace be with you.
Quentin, you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.
We set a record high in Columbia yesterday, 108. Here, it was 106 and right now, it already is 95. Back in the late 70s when I worked in textiles, it hit 107 here once.... The boffins guess the next week or so will be like this. Expected high today is 105
The Florence MP company lost 3 in Afghanistan last week. None were actually from here tho. Two funerals are scheduled for today and westboro baptist church has vowed to be there picketing. One can always pray for a stray lightning bolt or two.
Everyone take care and stay cool.

Worked on my VBS pictures this afternoon, and printed some out. Will finish the rest next month, after I get another color cartridge. What I have printed out, I'll take with me in the morning, and give them to Marty. I know I got at least one photo with her in it.
So far, our temp is 104 degrees; but by 6 p.m., supposed to be up to 105. Did not check on the heat index, as I can live without seeing that reading right now.

Anyways, ended up getting some new duds ..to fit my new weight...28 waist now.... I have not been at this weight since, oh, high school.
Hope those who have been caught by the storms in the DC area soon get their power back on....
.....Terrible weather swept across here late yesterday afternoon, and like other places, quite a bit of damage.
We lost power for 6 hours....Thankful to have it restored considering how wide spread it was. And what we were facing today.
Winds in our area reported to be 70 to 91 mph. No damage to us.
And for our graveside Celebration of Life Service for Jean this morning, we were blessed with sunshine....and hot, but not near as hot as previous day.
And the setting was under a big shade producing tree....I asked if we could do it there, {close the grave site}, and it was set as requested. I was concerned of the heat for friends, etc...
Wonderful Celebration of Jean's Life Service, and scriptures concluded our process of saying good by to her. Great job by Pastor.
Joe, very thoughful of you....and other dear friends here.
And now we'll try to understand and continue on...
