Good Friday morning, everyone.  We're kind of hovering around the 20 degree mark this morning, supposed to be down to 18 or 19 degrees F by 8 a.m., going for a high of 40 this afternoon.

Larry, you're always excused from whatever we're serving in the Cafe, whenever you have a fire department dinner meeting, as I know you always have something really, really good to eat!

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea are ready.

On the counter this morning, are the doughnuts:  cake, glaze:  plain doughnuts, chocolate covered, chocolate covered doughnuts w/vanilla filling, chocolate covered w/cream filling, doughnuts w/raspberry filling, chocolate covered long johns w/cream filling, danish w/apple, peach and cherry filling, along with bagels and bear claws.

Everyone enjoy your treats this morning, have a great morning, keep safe and take care!

Thanks CW.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.   The lake effect machine is cranked up right now, so the folks to the south of me are getting hit.  We're getting some fringe flurries, but nothing significant.  Supposed to be around most of the weekend, though.

It's my day off, so I'll take my bearclaw and tea in the recliner.

Dinner I have my fork poised waiting for the GC cake for Joe.  Oh yum!

Weather chilly, but sunny.  Weekend will be chilly, but if it is not snowing, not blowing, and not below zero - it will be a nice weekend.  Next week - temps in 40's - and I will definitely shove all that east.  Sir Chix and people west and north of us will have to figure out how to get in on any of that.

Driver and I have been sending the stock prices on tissues up this week.  So far - all allergies.  Have to pry eyes open in the morning and little cough syrup at bed.  And like the wind that brought this, we blow, blow, blow....

Good morning all....vacation day today and last night Mrs. Eolafan and I went downtown Chicago to see "JERSEY BOYS", the musical stage play about the history of Frankie Vali and The Four Seasons.  Being a big fan of theirs, I highly recommend this play for anybody who grew up in the 1950's or 1960's and especially if you are from the Northeast part of the country originally (I grew up in Yonkers, N.Y.)...it is a blast of a show!

Mooks: Set off to SLC tommorrow and come back late Sunday night. (wanna watch a pair of mudchickens scare a bunch of county surveyors and GIS people to death? Mischief) If Ma Nature leaves me alone for the next three weekends, I'll be extremely happy.

Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west

Sir C - Ma always liked you best, so I am sure she will give you only the best weather she can find for the Colo Rockies this time of year!  Pack lots of warm gear and hip waders....

We're supposed to get 1 to 2 inches of snow tomorrow.  Will see how much, if any, we actually wind up with.  Been on the phone all morning, calling for estimates to get rid of the pine branches that fell during and after the ice storm.  Still waiting for about ten or twelve tree services to call back.  There have been two that have come out and given us estimates.  Want several more, before we decide who to go with.

Now, time for our Friday Fish Fry.  On today's menu:

1.  Catfish; 2.  Flounder; 3.  Halibut; 4.  Haddock; 5.  Perch; 6.  Jumbo butterfly shrimp; 7.  Breaded oysters;

Side dishes:  baked beans, cole slaw, fries, hush puppies; breaded fried mushrooms, macaroni and cheese, turnip greens mixed with mustard greens

Desserts:  German chocolate cake, apple cobbler, cherry cobbler, peach pie and pecan pie

MC, as Mookie said, be sure and dress warmly.  We don't want you and Boss Hen getting too cold and getting sick on us, now do we?

Just had another phone call from another tree service; said they'd be out as soon as they could.  (Wonder exactly when that will be!)

Everyone enjoy your meal, have a very good afternoon, and take care.

 Hello,

Time for a new edition of the cafe. I'm going to lock this now... can someone please start a new edition?

Thanks,
Bergie
