I sure could use another N&W 2-8-8-2 or two. I give my daughters copies of ads from MR with my wish list items circled.

I usually buy the items I want, give them to my wife and let her surprise me with which ones I get for my birthday (also in December) and which show up as Christmas gifts. What I really want for Christmas is a room in which to build a layout, but that will have to wait till I can build it. Oh well!! Slow but sure just like the LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD.

I printed a page from the internet showing her Santa what I wanted. A couple days later Santa gave me back the page and said "you'd better go pick it out to be sure you get what you want." Soooo... I'm sure that Santa will bring me a shinny new cordless 10.8 volt Lithium-ion Dremel set. [:D]

Like I would want anything else? My problem is a lack of engines that I don't already have in my roads. No cabooses. My solution in one word: Shinohara

Outside of books on railroading, there aren't any RR items on my list. I usually ask for "train money" so that I can buy exactly what I need - there aren't any RR shops that are near to me and, with few exceptions, I usually buy exactly what I need on eBay or an online hobby shop. It's hard for someone else to buy me N scale items - also, with the money, I can buy used freight cars when I visit the faraway shop. My closest hobby train shop is about 170 miles from here, so I don't run there every time I need some small item!

Of course I do! A WM H-9 consolidation in brass would be sweet, with a sound decoder to install even sweeter! [:D]
I am also a self proclaimed tool-whore, so just about anything from the micro-scale catalog would be cool ( I X-ed out the stuff I already have!).
Sweetie knows what I want, and is really good at telling what family members can get what and where, so in any case, it oughta be a good one!

MY BIRTHDAY is on the 18th of December.
If I do not get for birthday, hope for Christmas.
I have MANY things on my list this year and all
have a hefty pricetag. That MRC sound & country
soundstation WAS at the top of it. I just ordered it.
It will be here soon. IT WOULD BE COOL IF I GET
TWO !!!!!

There are always items on my list. But, during the past year, I've spent more than enough buying up all the CN and CP related N-Scale items I could find. I have my presents for the next couple of years or so.

This pole is funny - like others above; EVERYTHING on my list is MR related.

I don't ask for locomotives for Christmas, as they can be a little pricey and I don't want to make that big a request. I just look for rolling stock, buildings and scenery. Of course, when a locomotive occasionally does slide in under the tree, I'm more than a little grateful.
As luck would have it, my annual profit sharing check is due this Friday, and there is a Greenberg show on Saturday. HoHoHo! Sounds like Ol' Santa is gonna have an uncanny resemblence to me this year!

I keep buying stuff but never actually build anything to run on. Must build that layout before I die.

My wife is buying me the MRC sound Station 312. However, being in England, our house voltage is 240 volts, therefore, if we plug American equipment into it we get an exciting Flash and Bang (just the once !). So, I have found a shop which sells an adaptor which drops 240v to 110v. Excellent ! but it is interesting to note that one shop I phoned will sell nothing with a 110v input due to the possibility of a customer suing them in the event of ...yes... an exciting flash and bang ! So, maybe MRC, and other manufacturers might like to consider 240 volt working versions of things.

I ask for "Art of Model Railroading" & "Howard Fogg" calendars for my birthday, which is within 5 days of Christmas, every year. And I usually get a gift certificate to a hobby shop from someone for christmas.

Yup, railways and Christmas are always related. The biggest thing I need is more time to build. Right now, I'm building a 1/87 scale model of my own house. I always need lights and wires. Books are great too.

Everybody have a great season, and carry the feeling all year.

same here and i'm only 17. my grandma will i gurantee buy me a shirt 2 sizes to big that i will not wear if my life depended on it. and my aunt and uncle will get me some preppy sweater like always that i won't wear. my other aunt and uncle will get me something useless as well i'm guessing. i gave my mom a list when my parents when down to see them. it was for her so she could get stuff at a hobby shop down there. ends up they couldn't go so she just gave the list to my grandma. my guess is i'll be getting the cheapest stuff available. i'll probably ask for a desk (place to put together stuff and storage for magazines and books), some tools, books, calenders, then look at ebay for stuff i like and see if they'll buy it.

my list consists of benchwork and start of a layout, the above mentioned, a BN locomotive, some Burlington Route stuff as thats what i'll probably be modeling, a CNW locomotive, and maybe some Rock Island stuff. also a subscription to Model Railroader magazine.

Um, yeah, there was a lot of railroad stuff on my Christmas list this year.... of course, I bought all the track! Some of the stuff I've requested I probably won't be able to use for years... but it's being retired by Walthers.

I model railroad all year long. Ibuild things and rebuild. My wife and I spend the winter in Florida where I visit model railroad friends and clubs on the East coast. We srend the winter in a motorhome, so I don't have a layout. All year I collect Small kits, like Jordan auto and truck kits. This year I found som kits that I haven't seen for a while. My wife wraps all these in a package and gives them to me for Christmas. She buys her own present and I give it to her, MERRY CHRISTMAS

I just got a new basement (with a house over it) and I haven't decided what to do, layout-wise. But I know I need some new tools to fix up the place, so it's probably a Home Depot gift certificate for me!

My wife, who otherwise supports my hobby, prefers to let me select and buy my own model railroad items. At my age and considering how long I've been in the hobby, this decision makes the most sense for us.
