My absolute favorite is my IORE, a swedish iron ore train from Rocco. It's brutal and I have never seen a grade it can't take and a load to heavy.

Unless otherwise mentioned it's HO and about the 50's. Magnus

I think after I boil everything down and make some painful choices, that my two favorite locomotives are--after everything is considered--two big, brutish, beautiful steamers.

1: DM&IRR M-3/4 2-8-8-4

2: Southern Pacific class AC-6 4-8-8-2

They did exactly what they were supposed to do, no more, no less, and they did it spectacularly.

EMD E's and F's, but spec. the E8--Frisco road of which I rode(well the passenger train pulled by it, anyway) in the 1960's.

My favorite (s) are: Great Northern R-2 2-8-8-2, M-2 2-6-8-0, N-3 2-8-8-0 and the O-8-the largest, most powerful Mikado ever built.

As for diesels, the SD45, and GN's various passenger equipped Fs--F3s and F7s.

My favorite steam loco is the NKP 2-8-4 Berkshire.

My favorite prototype early diesel loco would be the ALCO RS-3.

My favorite model loco that I own is the NS #9823 GE D9-40CW (see image below)

For diesels, mine is the Baldwin RF-16, one of the Sharknose profile locos. I have several models of this one, the old Mantua die cast metal body, and 3 of them have Hobbytown of Boston drive units under them.

For steam, the Pacific 4-6-2. I've been involved with two of them in the prototype world. Back in the late 60's I worked on the GM&N #425, which ran for two years on the Valley Forge Scenic Railroad (which went nowhere near Valley Forge). It's currently owned by the Blue Mountain and Northern. Currently, I'm working with the crew rebuilding Pennsy K4s #1361 (hold the time jokes, we've heard them all), plus I have the Bowser HO model of it.

The GG-1 I just love it's body style, its sleek, fast and modern look with its elegant curves, as you probley found out by my sig. I am a huge pennsy fan. And the H16-44 there is just something about it, I think because I love high hoods and because they reak of early diesel, even if they didnt become as wide known as the F's and E's.

I'm a big EMD fan, so my favorite EMD units are GP30, SD40-2, GP60, SD60M. I guess my favorite prototype is the Canadian National version of the GP40-2 and SD40-2, love the Canadian cab.

My favorite locomotive, hands down, would have to be the SD70ACe. It's big, powerful, and best of all, they make a great sound!

I hope to get a DCC decoder with sound soon and start running it on the DCC tracks. It has a DCC ready plug for easy conversion and installation.

The SP SD45X which was an experimental loco that EMD built for the SP for trial operations in the mid 60's. The SD-45T-2 and the SD-40T-2 were both equally important for mountain/tunnel railroading. The GP-60 which replaced many older EMD and GE six axle units of lesser or equal horsepower

I like EMD's, GP-35, 38's, and 40's, but thats all I have currently and am getting burnt out on them. I want a CSX Dash 8 that will be DCC equipped once I get and install DCC (which might never happen...)

Well excluding the PA's, my list is the same. These would be in B&O and Chessie.
