Jeff, You are really busy this weekend. Lots of great human interest shots. Your photo backdrops sure add dimension to the photo.
Bed time. Sue

I haven't stopped in here for a very long time...not since the new forum, actually. I shrugged and opened up to see what had been happening.
It's late so I'll leave comment for just one person. Fergie, your father will be in my thoughts for this evening. Actually, as I typed this, I had to suppress a tear coming on as I thought about my grandparents and the truly little time we have to spend with our loved ones. I'm not sure I can really say that I fully understand the pain that you must be experiencing, as I just have not experienced something like this so close to me. I have learned a lot from you and your MESS, so the least I can do is keep your father in my thoughts tonight and for nights on.
Evenin', Janie - I'll have a hot fudge sundae and a cup of the TH, please, since Jeff's covering the tab. Thanks, Jeff!

Ah, but the real question - can she do scenery well? She does sound pretty promising so far, JP!

Hey JimRCGMO
Where is Cape Girardeau Mo?
I live In Columbia...its kinda cool to meet other Missourians Here!
Nscaler, if you start on the Miss. River side (by St. Louis) and follow it down the eastern edge until you get to the next big 'bump', that's about where Cape G. is. Or just do a search on Google Maps or Mapquest for zip 63701... Actually, I went to Mizzou at Columbia (many, many years ago) after I graduated from high school - for a year and then another semester later. But at that time I wasn't as much into MRR'ing as the ladies.
Rob, that 'unfriendly' neighbor who drained the neighbor's well dry sure has poor manners, all right.
Fergie, sorry to hear about your Dad's health. Will be praying for comfort and peace for him and all the family (and medical staff) concerned.
I got the radio station tower a bit closer to assembled this afternoon. T'wasn't easy, since most braces are for 90 degree joints and not 60 degree ones. It's mostly rust color now, so once I have it all together, I'll just need to use silver on the parts that haven't got rust on 'em... yet! I also worked some on the Grande Valley Depot (Woodland Scenics), which I'll be using for a smaller town (between the town size of my Revell Small Town Station and the WS Flag Stop depot).
On Friday, I ordered some Caboose Industries turnout throws, Frenchman River awnings, and some Preiser figures from our MRR club member/LHS owner, so maybe that will come in by payday (Wed.).
Well, I'd better finish up and get going. See everyone later.
Blessings and prayers for comfort, peace and healing (of body and/or soul),
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Evening Gang:
Fergie I'm thinking about your dad. I'll say one speicial one for him.
Sue: Good to see you back. A 20 car hopper train now. I assume that there are a few Milw RD cars in there.
Mary Ann and I hauled hay today. We got all the first cutting hay in. They didn't bale today still too wet. It did dry out by this afternoon so I hopw that they will bale tomorrow afternoon after the morning dew drys off. Tomorrow morning we are going to take Mary Ann's tractor in for a water pump. Since it will take three days or so I guess I'll have to do the hauling alone.
Well I guess I'll head for bed.
Good Night All
If there is any freshmade, I would like some in a Southern mug please & thank you!
***Fergie, sorry to hear of your Dad's decline. It's never easy to watch. My sympathies to all involved.
***Jeffrey, how long have you been working on that layout? Is there any detail you left out anywhere? Wonderfully rendered scenes, or should I say "Slices of Life" along the rails. Obviously much thought goes into your work. When I think of trying to create a layout from scratch that contains that kind of detail, it seems almost overwhelming a prospect. But anything less than that, just wouldn't seem right either.
Finished laying the livingroom floor. Now just have a little in the entry way which I'll tackle tomorrow and one more project will be completed. Have a nice night everyone!
Rob
Hello everyone.....
Fergie, I'm deeply concerned about your Dad. God bless your Dad, you and your family.
Duke. Thanks for the comment, also. AS for my being the BBQ, chef, I'd be glad to do so, but how about Chef Ryan, too. If he wants to take over, I'd be glad to assist. regards to ray; it was good meeting him, too.
JP...best wishes to you regarding the 32 year old.
Everyone, ....... Tomorrow, Shelley and I are off to Nashville airport to pick up my Mom who will visit a few days. She's 88 and still quite active. Plays piano in church. Travels. ....but still acts like a Mom if you know what I mean.
Happy Model Railroading.
Evening, an Irish coffee please Flo.
Back from Missouri, fishing trip went ok other than hotter than ???? and humid. We did catch a few fish, ate beans, told stories n lies and darn few barley pops, but we drank mostly water. Good to get away from the wives n kids a couple days.
JIM CG it did ran on us, Friday as we setting up the last tent and a gain Saturday evening, but it just made it worse with the humidity.
I got a bunch of pics, some of trains even, to post later in the week after I catch up some here [haven't read a thing yet]

Ahh that's better she left. Thanks for sharing the photo's guys as thet always get the inspirational juices flowing.
As for Dad's health, well he's very ill at present and still going down hill. Had one nurse in tears this evening as she hadn't seen him since the last visit and she couldn't believe his present state. So as stated before I thank all for the prayers.
Fergie
Good evening....a fine Sunday here, spent the day reading several RR books and generally taking it easy...a day of rest.
ROB: It certainly looks like you have a good handle on things for the new train room, I am no longer concerned.
JEFF: You are having a ball with your new camera, and I like the realism of your layout, nice job Jeff!!!
DUKE: Thank you for the compliment, and it goes right back to you my friend. And that Garden layout is something else isn't it !!!!
TIFN
As for things that make a statement.
A house with reflective windows?
Some taggers had a little fun with one of my boxcars.
And they had a LOT of fun with my new covered hopper!
Rob Mirrors have been used by many for the purpose you are looking at.
Sue No.it isn't my layout but I have a pic of the owner on page 288. He is a friend of Ray's who is a riding friend of mine and I have a pic of him the day we were there.
Garry Are you going to be the Master BBQ'er when the pigs get here. Had a great time with JR,Chuck, and the car drivers of the cars JR takes care of for them.
Jeff $10 camera huh?? Not bad at all and it really brings out the details.
Talk to you later

Hello everybody...
I posted this photo on week end photo fun. The caboose (way car in Burlington terms) is a Walthers is one that I just installed the grab irons in the last couple of dys. The 2-6-2 is a brass loco. The reefer has a load of pork headed for a BBQ at the diner, and Jeff needs to bring the Trappy's Bull Hot Sauce.
I've enjoyed the KCS pix from Jeff and the garden railroad pix from Duke. It's good to read that JR and Duke met in G. R. area.
Happy model railroading.

Hoople: Sorry, no, it's not. It's a Bachmann 0-6-0 Santa Fe tender that's been repainted gray and had the trucks changed out.
Mornin'!
Just got back from altar serving at mass... So here I am.
Well... On the home stretch... Three to go...

Good morning, Coffee please. And maybe one of those twisty glazed donuts.
Dick, No. I didn't get lost in the tunnel. I have just had lots of family stuff. I have not had time to even think much about trains. Larry and I did manage to splurge and pick up 6 more athearn coal cars, and some RH passenger cars. We now can make a 20 car coal train.
Rob, Goats in the trunk?
Jim, Happy grandpa.
Jeff, You sure have been busy as a photog.
Duke, Is that your garden layout? Such detail. Thanks for sharing.
Sue
in a ATSF mug, please & thank you.
***JP, if the new woman likes going to the LHS with you, that's a mighty good sign.
***Duke, enjoyed the photos.
For whatever reason, while looking at Duke's photos, an idea popped into my head about using a mirror behind a small town scene to add an impression of depth. Then bring painted sky & clouds into the top of the mirror from the backdrop so there wouldn't be any obvious edges. Tricky part I imagine would be making the transition from glass mirror to backdrop flawless. Might work in a small valley where the town is surrounded by mountains. Any thoughts on this?
***Scott, this time be sure to use your own hair samples instead of trying to slip your neighbors dog's hair past the Lab.
Looks like the local Tractor Supply is all out of those huge water tanks. I have a feeling we're going to be needing a tank truck load delivered before this summer is over. Our neighbors across the road were been gone for a week and didn't know their creek had dried up until we called them. Good thing their horses let me know. Another neighbor dug up an old well line and not only emptied a friend of ours well, but used her power/well pump to do it. Once he was caught, he apologized and offered to pay her for it. Sounds like a Shooting Offense to me. Unbelievable lack of respect for someone elses property!
Back to work here. Have a great day, All! Rob
Morning all
Raining here today so that means no riding.
JimCG Those little ones can be fun and funny to watch at times.
Met JR yesterday at the Grattan Raceway which is just outside of Grand Rapids. Had a GREAT time and those cars are really something to watch as they go around the track. We did get a pic and I will get it posted as soon as I get all of the pics loaded into the puter. Thank You JR and for those of you wondering,he is one of the most laid back people I have met and it was a pleasure. Talked with Chuck (his truck driver) as well as the car drivers and they all treated me Great.
Ok,here are some more of the garden RR.
That's about it
Best to all on sick call and those recovering
P.S. I was just thinking. I have met 5 of our Diners and there is not one of them that I wouldn't hesitate to meet again,so that says a lot for those that come into this place. Thank You All.

As for her stats - she's 32, single, no kids, never married, and works 2 p/t jobs - 1 as the morning traffic reporter for one of the local radio stations, the other as a CSR for DHL.
Well, about time I go and change laundry loads while I wait for her to come back over in about 90 minutes.
Take care!

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
