The work on the E7 is almost complete. Here are some pics.
First, with the basic flat white paint from yesterday.
Second, with the flat black trim added and the decals applied.
Third, this decal was the hardist one to apply.
I still have to apply the finishing touches such as grime and rust.

Lunchtime, I'll have the cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and mayo, an order of fries and a Mt. Dew, Chloe. Thanks.
I'm still trying to get Netscape to work at home and have a question. After the crash last week I downloaded their latest browser version 8.1.2. In "about Netscape" it says it is based on Firefox. Are there any adjustments that have to be made in Firefox for this forum that might help me get Netscape running?
A friendly note for Der, you have remember, down here in the states we speak "American" English, not the Queen's English. P-L-O-W is the accepted way to spell snow plow.

Well In Maine Model Railroading news
Feb. 10th Augasta, Maine Model train show. I'll be going with a new model railroader who is a budding railfan and model railroad, and my friend. I'll be going to find some more rolling stock, couplers, and to help my friend find an engine so I can get the one I let him barrow back.
also my friend has been looking in Uncle Henery's and has found a 4x8 table that has House Oriented track on it. 5 switches, and 2 loops, and the the track is old enough that just the track is worth $100. he is getting the whole thing for $20.
I have lended him so of my Model Railroader mags that have tips on making scenery at home. I talked with him last night and he has made "starter" hills for the track to go between and Mountains made of Styreen Foam. I might go to his house to see how his layout is comming.
wow!! This is a lot... lol

Good late evening gents...the wife and I fell asleep watching the 11pm news, just woke up.......so this will be a quick note....I just received this email from a friend in NY who had relatives in Florida where the Tornado struck. Here is the link to the local paper and some pictures of the severe damage:

Jim: I was doing pretty good until I got two fire calls, back to back, and 24 miles apart. That kept me busy for a couple of hours.
Good evening, DerJohn, Jeff, and Trent! Chloe, I'll have a cup of hot cocoa, since John's buying.
Trent, good to hear you've been helping get some young'uns started right on MRR'ing! I was meaning to ask you about taking out that big trash bag - Chloe said she can't lift it enough to get it out the back door to the dumpster!...
Jeff, if I hadn't already had dinner before coming in here, I'd be tempted to have that pineapple chicken. Sounds like you've been even busier than last time I checked in here.
Tomorrow's payday (Yip-yippee-yahoo!!) - will need to figure out how much I'll have available after the necessaries for MRR'ing stuff. I'm also on-call tomorrow night, so hopefully it'll be too cold for anyone to go out...
Oh, today our local library passed a bond issue election (to expand and update their building). Luckily it passed, 'cause I didn't realize there was an election!
Well, time to head out for now and get on home and get ready for bedtime. Prayers for those who are ailing (how's your Dad coming along, Fergie?).
Blessings,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Evening Gang: This being retired is all right. After eating breakfast with my best girl I went out and got the tractor and cleaned up some more brush, cleaned up some hay in one of the fields, and went down to the well sight and scrapped up some gravel. Mary Ann had another appointment with her doctor so we headed to Ft. Worth. After we got done thee we just headed off on a little trip down to Granbury and hit the antique shops. We really had a great time.
Guys we've got three dogs. Daisy is a wiener dog and she is sleeping now in her bed by my side of our bed. Krausmeyer is a big klutz that I found wondering around Six Flags. and Ellie May is old but a good girl. Kraus and Ellie live out side in the back yard. So we have enough dogs around. Whenever we loose one God sends us one that needs a home so we have at least 3 all the time.
Tomorrow we'll go to town in the morning for a little breakfast and the feed store for feed. After that it's back to work on the brush, which I willl finish, and then I may get to do some on the 7 1/2 inch gauge.
Well I'm going to check out the rest of the forums and hit the sack.
Good Night All
If Der's buying, I'm eating!
I'll have the pineapple barbeque chicken.
I got the E7 all wired, the decoder works great and the mars light is dazzling. The shell has been repainted a flat white in prepareration for the units makeover into KCS 20.
Good evening one and all: Kris pointed out to me today that tomorrow is 07/02/2007, or 02/07/2007 if you prefer! Just one of those curios, but I thought that I would pass it along.
Ah! I see I'm hosting the page, so Chloe, I'll have a green tea, please, and a sourdough rye crispbread with butter and Marmite. Sprinkle on some sage too, if you don't mind, and we'll see what everybody else is going to have.
I’m painting the walls of the office / lab building prior to assembly. I need some brick paper in N scale, and as we are going to town, and the city, tomorrow, I get to go to both the LHSs.
Just for fun I’ve built the interior of the building out of card stock. It’s actually helped to place the windows, as I’ve had to work out where the blank walls would be for the staircase, and stuff like that. Now I’ve done it, I think I’ll try to light the rooms. Should be possible to do each one with a separate bulb.
Jeff: That paint job on the E Unit is going to look just great. Plain and simple. The light grey is probably going to look almost better than the white in the long (and dusty) run….2 old style Beetles!
Don't feel bad. I missed the whole thing, commercials and all.
Dick:
Then Cloe discovered that the entire box of Rum Balls was gone.........now we all know how Der John likes those Rum Balls....
CAPE JIM: Are you trying to get me in trouble with Mary Ann????? You trickster!! Wait until Der John hears of this!!!!!!!!!!!
Now Dick! How come I get dragged into this? BTW, I’ve discovered who took the rum balls…
Attaboy: Thanks for that “Heads Up” on the MS vs Symantec thing. I’ll avoid installing those update thingies until I hear the case is settled.
Trent: Great to see you in here again! You sound like things are smokin’ in the LHS business.
Paul: Take your pick…
Well, time to try and get some warmth back in my feet. They’ve been cold since I went out earlier this evening, despite the wood stove.
all, and God bless. Prayers continuing for all in need of healing, comfort and peace.
"There are always alternatives, Captain" - Spock.
Howdy all,
Got'er fixed and I'm happy!
Y'all sound soo busy and its great to hear the news, see the progress on the layouts, & I pray for y'all.
I recieve a lot of encouragement & get a real kick out of all the banter. Its just like a real family w/o having to pick up the laundry or taking out the trash.
Train biz is going great and selling lots of all scales and gauges.
Oh, there have been LOTS of little ones gettin their 1st train and I don't mean wooden! I'm so encouraged!
Gotta go!
Trent
Dick,
I liked that snickers com with the two guy's working on that car. Worst one thats a hard one this year, I thought there where alot of bad ones this year.
Paul, you really should have a dog. I love having my bud in the basement when i'm working on the layout and if I ask her how my latest project looks she never gives me that [ its cute line]LOL.
Well good night all 3am comes fast, so its off to bed.
Okay, let's try this again from home.
What happened last week, when I got home on Friday I started the computer with no problems then did the auto update of my Norton Antivirus. After restarting as required I got nothing. It wouldn't reboot at all. I took it to the local repair shop and when I told him what happened he winced and shook his head. Seems Symantec and MS are involved in a lawsuit right now. Symantec had trouble getting Norton Antivirus to work with XP and foolishly took their source code to MS to work out the problem. Now MS is coming out with their own antivirus software that is eerily similar to Norton. Thus the lawsuit. I had to have the hard drive wiped clean and XP reinstalled. The repairman said it was either a virus that got past Norton (unlikely in his opinion) or MS is playing games with Symantec users through their Windows auto updates. So Symantec users, be alert to potential problems. The repairman suggest and antivirus software called AVG. He said it's very effective and free. Just Google "AVG", it's one of the first listings to come up. I'm trying it now.
Other than that not much going on around here lately. That's why I haven't posted in a while, nothing to say. I decide against going to Timonium last Saturday. Got to thinking about it and decided I needed to get some track operable before buying any more engines or rolling stock.
Oh, and a belated to RT.
See you later (he said with fingers crossed)
Ah, Ha, so IE6 works but Netscape doesn't, do sense a plot here?

Hey, now, Dick - you said 'companion', and to me that's a vague term... especially in today's PC world (that's politically correct, not Phillip). I feared for Paul's life if his CFO was reading over his shoulder and read 'companion'... Then I read the rest of your description about the border collie, and breathed a of relief.
Oh forgot to mention..I push a snow shovel with my Hooverround power chair...Works great till you hit a crack in the side walk...ended up with a big purple bruise on my tummy the size of a softball...I am the Plow King of the Pearl street Apartments....Jerry
