Man, I beat you here by a long shot! I was already teaching class when you posted this. You're going to have to get up MUCH earlier if you're going to keep up with me man!
Oh, and der, thanks for the help!
everyone: Another bright sunny morning here. We were supposed to be the coldest place in theprovince today at -11 C, but last time I looked we were already up to – 3!
IngersolGUB TiptonBill is your host for this morning, so order what you’d like. …Later on, when it’s your turn (score Top of Page) you need to know the penalty for default on the mess bill is washing dishes. However they are pre-rinsed.
PC: Found you some help…
CapeJim:
Brrrr!! I know, that's the kind of weather where Fergie, DerJohn & Luc are still wearing short sleeve shirts...
I tend not to wear short sleeves, but I get your point. I once worked (sorry Paul) with a Ukrainian who had his shirt open in all weathers (Harriston, Ontario) We were in an ice cream plant, and often were making up loads in the freezer. This chap was amazing!
Here’s food for thought.
OZJim: Over in the CS you posted your track plan. …how does your expanded territory change this?
Hoople:
But I need to know if it can control sound in DC and DCC locomotives that have just a speaker in them, and how am I supposed to hook the speaker up? I thought maybe just solder it so it gets power from the engine or tender, but I don't think that's how it's done.
Dick:
How is the ocean water scene coming along? Are you pleased with your foam spray yet? It looked very good to me in your photo shots.
...I'm pleased enough to say it's done! Now I have tokeep it dusted and shiny. Actually the next timeI have thte gloss medium out, I'll go over the parts that are just Flex Paste, as they have dried matte, and I've yet to see matte water that wasn't ice!
More ideas for fun in the snow.
Lunch time looms, so I’ll say TTFN.

Morning y'all.
A cup of coffee would be fine; make it hot please...I need something to soothe my throat.
THE TWILIGHT ZONE was a hit; everyone (as far as I know) loved it. And I (and the other performers) had a blast doing it. I'm really disappointed that I haven't been able to audition for the school's shows before; because that was just awesome. And now that the Twilight Zone is over...It's time to begin the rehersal for the annual musical.
See y'all later.

It is a balmy 23F here at 11am, it might even hit 30F!!!! That midwest storm that I saw brewing a week ago is now "fact". The conditions were all in line, so I couldn't see how it could miss. The people who will get it worse will be those on the mid Atlantic coast states, say hang on guys !!
Progress is continuing on CADRail, this is a powerful software program for doing our train layouts. After you get familiar with the tools and the icons, I am sure that it will be well worth the effort to learn this program. I can save a lot of trees also...LOL
DER JOHN: The big storm should miss us both again this coming week, as the jet streams should carry it out to sea. Some of these storms have made to England and London is getting hit with snow. Those folks don't know how to handle 1" never mind 3 or 4, they are having some fun over there this winter. I was watching some of the action on the Weather Channel. How is the ocean water scene coming along? Are you pleased with your foam spray yet? It looked very good to me in your photo shots.
JEFF: Do you use foam for your scenery, or do you use something else like cardboards strips and plaster cloth?
Later,
Good morning. Cool and damp here today.
More layout work for me. What else is there for me to do.

Mornin,, an irish coffee Jaine,
We've got +16 outside now, it was +5 when we got home home last night. Partly cloudy today with a high bout 33. JIM CG was right on the snow, it's suppose to move in latter this evening and into Mon. night. Might even get get some mix with. Then it's back to the deep freeze for the week.
Trip to Jamie's was ok and I did get to one LHS there by her. Spent part of my birthday money, but didn't buy much. They just didn't have any thing I was looking for. I'll save the rest for next weekends swap meet
Did get a few pics yesterday, these are from the Amtrax station up there.
and this one is of a UP at the Y in Findley. Those boxes in between the rail are heat ducts for the switch points [I think].
We stopped in Findley and had supper, got to meet the guy and his wife that on the place. They're into G scale and have a track thats ran around the place. Had a great steak and the visit made it even better.
Plan on some train time today, but not much, figure we'll have grandkids here part of the day. Hope ya'll have a good day and stay warm.

Ah Luc. Would you mind not using the four letter "w" word? Please.
Not much here. I got some more done on cleaning up 30yrs of neglect around the place. Not a great amount, but every little bit helps.
I think that I'll head over to the rest of the forms and check them out before heading for bed.
Good Night All

The only thing i don't like is the dummy coupler on the front. A mike was the gp9's of the steam age, most railroads used them for road switchers therefore they need to have aworking front coupler. I well be looking to fix this right away.
hey guys
Just thought I would drop in and say hi, cold here so not much fun outside these days. Anybody going to be watching the Budweiser shootout tonight? im glad racing is back on TV I will be even more happier when F1 is back
talk to you guys later

BRING IT ON!!!!!! I've seen worse! Bring it on!!!!!
Afternoon, Diners! It's all the way up to 34 (F) here, and if you get into your car (where the sun's been shining, it feels almost toasty! Not much wind (5 mph), so the wind chill's only got it down to 30 degrees.
Scored some figures, details and a car at Hobby Lobby today. I just went in to see what they had new, and they were running model railroad accessories at 30 percent off - I guess that would include everything but the train sets, locos and cars(!). So I picked up a Karmann Ghia car, and four or five Woodland Scenics figure sets and details. Saved about $12 on $52 worth of stuff (before taxes), so I was happy.
Fargo, I'm not familiar with the Trix locos, but have thought they look pretty well-detailed in the catalog pics, so I'll be reading along to see what others can tell you(/us) about them. Sounds like a puller, from what you wrote, though.
'Bout time for me to head back home and nail down the rest of the track I have push-pinned down currently (and to take my loot home that I've bought)Aargh, matey!
Blessings (and a warm place to thaw out in),
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Good afternoon one and all: It’s clouded over from a sunny start. It’s a little “warmer”,-5C (24 or 25F).
Luc:
Der John - I'm off the weekend of the show and Saturday the 31th is very good for me. Hopefully Fergie will be able to join us. All we need to do is set a time.
Trent: Glad the fever broke. Sounds like the flu. Did you get the flu shot this Fall?
Paul: Heard tell that your dogs found Mary Ann’s kittens.
Back to work on the window mullions for the office / lab. JR, I think I’ll put a government of Canada Fisheries and Oceans sticker on the front door to designate that your sister has an office there! (In N that will be “nearly invisible” for sure) Good thing I wrote that, because I’ve just realized that I didn’t glaze the doorway! (All glass doors with side lights and transom) Hey ho, the fun just doesn’t stop does it!
TTFN.
Howdy all,
Been sick since Thur. nite and finally feeling better.
Thur. morn I replaced my front break pads, only took an hour. Then I stripped part of my layout down to the pink foam. HEY whats wrong with pink? Fergie likes it and he's a sailor.
After that I got to feeling bad, laid down and slept from 12 to 3pm when the wife came home. Yesterday slept all day and didn't wake up til 3:30pm. Then was in and out, hot and cold. Fever broke middle of night and I feel much better.
We Have Elliot and his family in our prayers as well.
Hopple- you might want toget another gray plug piece for your zephyr that way you can just plug in track or program instead of swapping wires.
MY prayers for all!
later.
Trent
Good morning everyone, cloudy today here, and temp is 22.4F, the warmest it has been in many a day. I see they are forecasting a big snowstorm along the barrier between the Northern jet stream and moisture laden Southern jet stream, so you guys in the upper Ohio Valley all the way through Kentucky to Virginia and the coast be aware, it will be a big one. BUT, not like Parish , NY which just broke the 100" mark, and this is ONE continuous Lake Effect storm!!!! Another FOOT is due today!! I saw a picture of a guy on his roof clearing what looked like 4' of snow, the entire house was nearly buried in snow on all sides!!! WOW !!
LUC: GREAT Grandaughter!!!!! You best me!!! I think I am still about 3-5 years away from that honor. She is a little doll Luc !!!! You will have great joy with her great grand dad.
Well, back to learning CAD,
Scott, gads on your play sounds like fun, i also agree with what some of the others told you. with your car keep hounding the ins. people its the only way to get anywhere with them. Go with the angle thats its a classic and you are restoring it.
You know i never minded winter to much but this deep freeze you're in, in Wisconsin is getting old, its down right painful to go outside with these temps. I tried to go to grand crossing this morning i got up just like every day 3:00 am it was -8 you can't shut the engine down for more then ten mins. at a time and with gas backup up to2.33 a gal railfanning is starting to cut into layout money.
Man i have gotten alot of work done on the layout, this week i installed my new Walthers turntable, it works great the gearing is really quiet. Also this week I picked up a Trix Mike off eBay for $181.00 all i can say is WOW I though the P2Ks sounded great this is even better. It runs like a watch and weights a ton took off up my 2% grade with 20 cars and a cab like the grade wasn't even there. The detail is as the same level as a brass engine but at a third the cost. The only thing that i don't like is it has a dummy coupler on the front. Does anyone have one of these and if so did you find a way to replace the front coupler?
Well till later I have to get all the bus and feeders put into the engine termial area today and tomorrow, and the swicth stands.
Hey Jeff you where up at my time the other day how did you like it? I have come to love it its peaceful, I drive down to work and maybe pass 2 or 3 cars all the way.
Good Morning All,
good news about Elliot - thanks for pasing it on RT.
Back at work finishing up rewiring a trailer and waiting for a customer to show up. It's up to 16f already with the high today predicted at 31f and partly sunny or partly cloudy depending on your perception of life.
No work on the layout last night - took the CFO out to dinner and vegged out after that turning in early. Maybe later today after work. Sure would like to get the new bridge done enough to fit into place and connect. CUL, J.R.
Good Morning, Janie - I see you have the duty this a.m. Since I appear to be first one in after Bill T., I get to have first pick on those tasty donuts, so Looks like Inch snuck in ahead of me while I was writing! Well, I'll pick that cinnamon roll that's under the chocolate one, and a cup of hot cocoa. Thanks, Bill!
Great to hear about Elliott's improvement, and thank you, RT for updating us. We will continue to pray for Elliott's recovery (as others have already said), and for Tammie as well.
We're just in the cooler as Paul and others have been, this morning. It's 27F (-3 C.!), with a wind chill of 19 F (-7 C). Brrrr!! I know, that's the kind of weather where Fergie, DerJohn & Luc are still wearing short sleeve shirts... But as Dick said, at least we haven't been hit with the kind of snow that upstate NY got. I think we're even supposed to warm up past freezing today (34 F) (before dropping back to 20 F/-6 C tonight...) Ah, winter!... Janie, another cup of hot cocoa too, please. Want to warm up my insides some before I go back out there.
Luc, thanks for (re-?)posting the pic of Haley - cute GGD.
Hoping to get the rest of my track nailed down to the roadbed today. I want to have the track all nailed down before I get to moving. Have some of it just held down by pushpins temporarily. I also ordered a couple of Accurail cars (off their website - my LHS has had trouble getting one particular boxcar through Walthers or Horizon). Getting a Santa Fe 40' plug door (1952) and a Western Pacific (50' DD, 1954) boxcar. Not lots else going on on my MRR'ing.
Scott, good to hear you got the insurance company to see the light on your car. Hope you'll be able to get things all fixed and have it looking (and running) fine again soon.
That's about it for me right now. Laundry day, so need to get ready to go do that. [oh, joy!...]
Blessings and prayers,
Mornin, coffee and a couple of Bill's doughnuts please Janie
Another cold day here, have +5 now suppose to be up round 25 and some sun this afternoon,
Heading up to Springfield today visit with Jamie and the kids. A stop at the LHS, [maybe both] is planned to, along with some rail fanning along the way.
RT, thanks for the news on Elliot, sure hoping things continue ok. We'll be thinking of him.
JERRY, we're going up to Mattoon Sunday. Mother has a jewlery doings on Sat.
DER, I don't mind going to meets on Sun. I can find some better buys then sometimes.
Best get on ta have to chores an finish them. Hope ya'll has a gooden
