Evening Gang: I do believe there is a new tractor in the near future. I don't like spending that much but it will be nice not having to feed in the rain with no cab. Of course this means that MRR funds are going to be scarce for a few years.
Colby: Looking good there young man. I did 5 1/2 yrs in Civil Air Patrol and then got smart and went with the Army. My dad was a 1st sargent in WW2 and my great uncle was Army in WW1. Army kind of runs in the family.
Rob: You had better get that looked at. I did that several years ago and ended up with a planters wort. It took a little minor surgery and a couple of weeks on very light duty to get over. Not to mention the pain.
All the hay is now cut. My neighbors field is full of grass burrs. The tires on the tractor were an inch deep in them. I'm not sure if we're going to feed out the hay or dump it someplace. The cows will eat it so? Anyway not that we are again doing our own baling we maybe able to get it cut before the burrs head out and clean them out in a few years.
Well it's time for bed.
Good Night All
in a ATSF mug, please & thank you!
I like ALL the BNSF photo that have been posted lately. That is a really sharp color scheme, I think anyway. Have been tempted numerous times to pick up a modern diesel in that scheme, even though it is not one I collect.
***Colby, good sound on those clips. Looking forward to the "daytime videos".
***Dave, as I've said to others here and can never be said too often, "Thanks For Serving". That is a great photo of you in front of the ol' fart.
Stepped on a large rusty nail that was sticking strait up out of an old board this evening, right infront of the old bird house where some still perch at night. Never saw it and stepping down hard it shot right through my shoe. The wife wants to jab me with a needle (for Tetanus). Guess I should let her do so, even though I have grown averse to needles since undergoing all those tests in recent history. Gurrrr!
Hope everyone is doing well. Rob
Nice to see another JROTC "vet" on this board. I was an Army JROTC cadet all four years of high school (Methuen Rangers lead the way!).

No heroic pictures here - life at sea was 12 hrs a day 7 days a week locked in a little room with the rest of the watch working radios. But no worries - here's my first attempt at one of inches rolling pics one handed in Topeka. Just for the newbie
Just doing a bit more on the layout backround tonight. CUL,J.R.
Hey, Colby! I hope you stick with the Air Force... it's a great life! I've been in over 11 years now. I don't have any service-dress uniform pictures on the web, but here's me in my working clothes a few years ago in Baghdad:

I got 2 videos ready for anyone who wants to see then. I know the videos are a little bit dark. Cause they were made afterdark.

Best wishes!
I'll be out of pocket for the next 3 days. Taking the family camping at Penn State and to see the Penn State/Ohio State game at good ol' Beaver Stadium.
It's like homecoming for the wife and me... We met at Penn State.
Go Nittany Lions!
My best to all, and prayers for those in need!
Afternoon all
First things first and that is for PC.
Garry Ray and I will probably go to the Gratiot Valley show unless the weather is nice and then we will most likely be on the bikes. Is your friend going to be there??
Ryan The layout is looking good and your camera didn't do too bad for the video but a little too much of the guy behind you.
Jerry You did alright with the posting and Deb and Mike had you about 95% there.
to the Diner Richard
Rob I know what you have been going through with the drought after going to Apex and seeing how bad it is there compared to years past. One lake I went over, you could see where the water had been and it was about 50yd down to where it is now, and another one I usually cross on my way in was almost dry this year and it is a good size lake.
That's about it
Best to all on sick call and those recovering
Talk to you later

Well, I thought that I would pull up a chair and have a taco salad and coffee.
I put the ground foam on the Aggro trees today. I can plant a pretty good sized hillside now.
Rob, How is your water situation doing? Has the dust settled?
Ryan, So you have our rain. We had a sprinkle yesterday, but it should be dry through the weekend. Monday and Tuesday were in the low 70's, which is not normal for the northwest.
Richard, to the forum.

Hey Richard.
Glad to see you join the forum.......
Well....that depends on who ya talk to....
Rob,
Well that did'nt take long to fill em up those two 1,500 gal tanks! Amazing how much water comes down when it rains, eh! I know what you mean though, the lakes here show no signs of rising yet, maybe in a few days when the water finally trickles down....
Glad you like the turntable!
***Jeffrey, looks like it's time for the crane again. Was this another MGR derailment? How many do they have a month and can they hire more workers to maintain the tracks?
***Ryan, glad you got that much rain. I don't know how much we actually got from that system, but it zero effect on our dry creek bed. Did water the pastures nicely and allowed us to capture over 3000gals worth (when including all the extra tubs & buckets I put under eaves). Hopefully it won't be long before another system comes along. Really like how you laid out the turntable.
Have a great day all. Rob
