Good evening all, I placed an order with Wuiske on Friday for some Freight car kits, should be good fun building them... The rest of my track order will be in around late march. I guess it gives me time to work on the model kits.

In other news, Today was the last game of cricket for the season, I had 46 wickets, and needed two to break the club record, and I got one equalled it, and well it should have been two, the umpire gave a caught behind not out. (some might understand this) I was so dissapointed that a dodgy decision by an official robbed me of the club record, which has stood for almost 15 seasons.

When you have a "I hate My Job" day, try this. On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson. Be very sure you get this brand.   When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed. Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair.   Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken. Now the fun part begins. Take out the literature and read it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is a statement, "Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested".   Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times, "I am so glad I do not wo rk in the Thermometer quality control at Johnson & Johnson."   HAVE A NICE DAY AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB THAT IS MORE OF A PAIN IN THE BUTT THAN YOURS!

Hi all.

What am I doing here so early in the morning you ask...

Well I'm at the place where I have to go most days, you know the W... place.  I'm trying Texas Paul...  Anyway I'll be dropping in very sparodically in the next little while, 'puter has decided to take a vacation and will be going in to the shop in the next while for hardware fault repairs.  If you have me on your e-mail list please do not sent any as I suspended my internet account until FRED is fixed.

I'll drop in when I can

Good evening gents, it sure is nice to have hispeed internet service, I have over 200 emails since a week ago. We just got back from a trip to the White Mountains in New Hampshire, a 4 feet of snow and some snowmobiling as well as two visits to one of my favorite LHS, Hartmanns, up in Intervale on route 16&302. Yes, we dropped a few bucks, bought some cars, and some built kits that will fit very well with the NE theme of my layout for northern NE. The LHS bought some items from a widower, and the price was $30 for a box of 5 building all built, and done very nicely, too hard to pass up that deal. Bought a MEC GP7 ( P2K ) , and FP9 Conway Scenic RR #6505 ( converted FP7 ), and 7 cars (RTR) and one Branchline Blueprint Series Box car kit. With no sales tax in New Hampshire, the trip is very well worth the 175 miles and a week in the mountains.

I have a lot of catching up to do in reading, but I see that TRENT & Family and PC and his Wife need prayers, so we have added them to our nightly prayers to God.

I hope all of you guys and gals have been behaving yourselves in the Diner, I sure wish that Duke, Ed and Fergie would pop in once in awhile.

JP: No Manny yet !!!

ED: I just saw on the late news that Mexico has  a bad Locust plague near Yucatan Peninsula, that is getting pretty close to your Orange grove...better get your bug spray ready Ed!!!

See you guys in the morning..... LUC, please have some hot coffee ready, it is only 12F right now and headed for single numbers by 6am!!!  Zzz [zzz]

Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Evening Gang: Well I didn't get to the basement last night. I pooped out after leaving the diner. Maybe I'll try again tonight. I got the Bridgeport wired up tonight and surprise it worked and no flashes or fires. I will have to re do the wiring on the machine soon as the insulation is very old.

Inch: I'd love to be that ROF in the joke. That is a good one for sure.

I guess I'll get out of here and see what I can get done on the MRR.

Good evening folks:  Here’s a bit of diner related trivia from the financial sector

YUM! Brands (NYSE: YUM) - operator of three of the most popular fast food brands in the world (KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell).

YUM! decided a while back to take Americans' passion for fast food global. What they quickly discovered is the hungry citizens of the U.S. aren't the only ones that can eat 350 slices of pizza a second, or 400 acres per day.

I’ve never before this thought of pizza in terms of acreage.  Awesome, isn’t it?

Dick may be a while getting in tonight as he’s working through 219 e mails after a trip to the White mountains.  Keep an extra strong pot on the go please Chloë, in case he gets here.

PC:  Good to hear that your wife is somewhat better today. PTL.

If those speed bump pics were doctored, they were done by some one with an eye for perspective and detail!Bow [bow]

Well, time for TV, and then perhaps some mrr.

Goodnight all, and God Bless.  Prayers for all in need of healing, comfort and peace.Angel [angel]

well at least with HO scale you dont have to worry about little kids choking on your new engine...  and besides HO is probably the most popluar for new model railroaders. (Alex that include you) well I am thinking of changing my layout again so I can get more mail line than yard track out, right now I have a small mainline and a big yard with a turn table. I'll have dounuts, and a Root Beer float.

The snow is starting to melt but not by a lot.

anyone know what season it is? it's wrabbit (wa-bit) season. (Elmer Fund from loony tunes)

happy lunch every one

Good day all -

Hope everyone is doing well today. Prayers out to both Trent and family as well as PC and Mrs. PC. Hope all will be fine for both familes.

JimCG - How's things with the apartment going?

Not much else to report here at my end other than I did my taxes today. One bonus of being in the military and a NYS resident is I get free e-filing for both state and federal taxes from several sources that the military has teamed up with for this year. I did my state and e-filed it this afternoon... I owe, I owe, I can't go to work though! lol j/k I'll take care of e-filing the federal ones by the end of March when I have enough $$$ saved to pay it off completely. Thank god I have till the 17th of April to file and pay them.

Well, time for me to get going and get some Dinner [dinner] ... Chloe, how about a nice juicy 1/2# Cheeseburger w/ bacon and BBQ Sauce, a side of loaded seasoned curly fries and a Sprite? Thanks a bunch!

Take care all!

And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

Afternoon, I'll have a barley pop Cleo,

Nothing going on round here, just doing some odds n ends, waiting on the rain to move in tonight or tomorrow morning- afternoon- evening.  The weather quessers can't agree on when.

TRENT, sorry to hear bout KELLY's aunt, know that was rough news. Ya'll in our thoughts here.

PC,, Ya'll in our thoughts roo. Whouping cough be nothin to mess round with. We've had a few bouts with it in the family the last couple years. Herman still has problems if he run or plays to hard.

Best get back to it. Here be a joke for the day

Subject: The Joy of Being Retired

The Joy of Being Retired   Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day I went downtown and went into a shop. I was only in there for about 5 minutes and when I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.   I went up to him and said, "Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break"? He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a "Nazi." He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a "Doughnut Eating Gestapo." He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote.   Personally, I didn't care. I came downtown on the bus and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said "Hillary in '08." I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. It's important to my health

Phillip, sorry to hear about the whooping cough, our thoughts and prayers are with her and hope that she has a speedy recovery.

Chole, I'll have a toaster struddle, tall coffee and some of Ed's fresh squeezed. Thanks!

I am off work today and just had a tree service crew leave, had the back yard oak tree pruned away from the roof of the house. Now we might just get some grass to grow in the back yard again.

Off to running errands now that all the chores are done around the house....

Catch you all later...

Photoshop, most likely. Kind of like when you search "Big Boy UP" and the first pic that comes up is a 4-8-8-8-4.
Nothing much new otherwise. playing with my Zephyr, saving up money for that beautiful bachmann 2-8-0 with Tsunami....

Thanks for all the prayer guys.....I'm sure it makes a difference.

Think she may have cracked a rib coughing, but she feels better this morning.  The few meds they could give her seem to be helping.  Hopefully they'll get the rest worked out today so she can start down the road to recovery.

Well, it's not too bad out there right now weatherwise.  A bit nippy, but other then that................

Gotta get busy on this paper today for tomorrows class.  Good thing it's only 10 pages!

A quick Good Morning to all - Zoe, just a cup to go, please!

Trent, sorry to hear about Kelly's aunt. As with others in here, I'll be praying for her and family (hers and the truck driver's as well), for comfort and peace.

PC, also sorry to learn of your wife's health problems. Yes, will be praying for wisdom and additional options to occur to her doctors (or for God to heal her, which is well within His capability).

Little bit of good news for me - last night I won a Spectrum 44 ton switcher ($36 with shipping) on eBay. It's a PRR one, but will repaint over it with the CAW yellow-orange stripes and color scheme (for those newer to the forum, that's my fictional freelanced Colorado-Arizona-and-Western RR).

Glad it's Friday - weekend's coming, and small group from church is meeting for dinner tonight, and probably going to see "Amazing Grace" movie that opens tonight. The trailers look good, and our pastor filled us in on some of the story and how Newton influenced other ministers and the member of Parliament who is a central figure in the movie. Looking forward to seeing that.

Blessings and prayers for healing,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Evening Gang:

PC: Prayers are with you and yours. Take care.

Trent: my prayers are with you and your wife.

Nothing much going on here. We lost another cow today. She was old and went down and couldn't get up. There wasn't anything to do but put her down. Not fun, but had to be done. We got here buried after we got back from the Drs.

I'm trying to stay up late tonight. I've been waking up at about 1:30am and can't get back to sleep. I usually go down and watch a video. After about a 1.5 hrs I can usually get back to sleep. Tonight I think I'll head to the basement for a bit and work on the layout.

I'm still having problems with Peoplepc. I haven't figured out how to call there service people and stay online. I'll be darned if I'm going to use my cell and be kept on hold for an hour or so.

HOkey Smoke Bulwinkle it's 11:15 already. I'd better get going to the basement.

Good evening folks: Made a quick trip into the Harbour for gas after dinner.  The News had indicated the price of gas will go up here at midnight, and as Kris was to New Glasgow today, we were running on just 1/8th of a tank.

Colby:

HO IS NOT Horibly Oversized!  it's House Oriented!!
…but old son, that’s the same thing!  Being House Oriented means you need a house to put it in, while Normal Scale people can just use an ordinary ROOM! I’ve just clicked your dial up link and….wait for it….no, still not there yet….still transferring data from …ah! Here we are…just about as slow as my photobucket account.  Does Fossil like trains?

Trent:  Sorry to hear about Kelly’s Aunt.  It’s doubly difficult when it’s sudden news like that. Please let her know we are thinking of her, and the family. Praying for them, and the driver of the truck as well.Angel [angel]  Just read about your Taurus troubles as well.that’s rotten, but if I listed all the things wrong with our Windstar…Banged Head [banghead]  that’s Ford!

Ryan: Yes, that’s probably the one.  I’d forgotten he bit about the baby.  I didn’t break a tooth, so I guess I didn’t get that bit!

Jerry:

Der...Sounds like you hit the Jack pot on that grab bag
…I thought so, but now I’ve got them out of the bag, I’m in two minds.  To get the variety represented in separate lots from Grant Line would cost much more than I paid for the bag.  However, counting up how many of each variety….there’s more of each in the separate lots…so it’s six and two threes, as they say in the UK.

Here’s what I got.

I get hungry reading some of the posts. .......

Can’t think why…

Trent............thanks ever so much for the offer, "one free of charge"...        are you talking about my wonderful coffee maker?  This thing is still new enough to take back.  About once every 20 times it stops up.  We just have to clean it every time and it's okay.  Thanks again.

Everybody............  thanks another time for the warm welcome.  Means a lot.  BTW, my wife, Shelley and I are in Kentucky. Grand kids are arriving for the weekend, and the wood train set is about to be moved to the carpet again.  I can hardly wait.

I'm a bit concerned.

My wife went to the doctors today.  She doesn't like doctors so she usually puts it off, ya know.  Anyways, when she was in FL. a couple weeks ago she had a real bad cold.  She was quite ill.  Well, she's been back a couple weeks now and the cough hasn't gone away.  The fever comes and goes, but it's lower.  Other then that, she feels fine.  I finally convinced her to see the doc about the cough.  She came back and told me they said she has Whooping cough, and that it's potentially fatal!  They said it's the worst for the first two weeks, and we're past that, but still!  Then they perscribed a bunch of medicine for her, quarentined her, ordered her to bedrest, and sent me to the pharmacy.  I get there and found out that she can't take the antibiotics for this thing because of an interaction with one of her muscular dystrophy meds, it causes this nasty side effect of stopping peoples hearts.  So now she can't take the medicine that makes her better!

I'd like to ask that any of you who know the Great Healer to please pray for wisdom and guidence for her doctors so that they can find the right meds for her.  You could even go big and ask that He'd just heal her.....wouldn't hurt my feelings any!  This is truely in His hands!

Thanks!

And Trent, I haven't forgotten you and yours.
