Good evening to all, just got in from long day outside. The veggie garden is going crazy, we are having a hard time keeping up with it. The blueberries are really heavy this year, we are now up to 4 gallons a day, and red raspberries are in full stage for picking. Man, I'll have start getting outside at 6am for the next several weeks.

Do I have time for MRR'g? Well, I sit and read the mags at night while I enjoy fresh blueberry pie, or raspberry cream pie. And tomorrow we head off early to Tuckers, my LHS in Warren, Ma, he has a book I have been trying to get, and of course I am sure there will be other things there for me, and plenty of great conversation with Bob regarding train history. Then it will be near lunchtime, so we will head for the Palmer RR station, now the Steaming Tender restaurant, and hopefully some mainline action on the olde B&A line.

JEFF: Good Lord Jeff, what ELSE do you need to hear?? Please keep some com gear at hand so that you can get help fast if need be. If you pass out from Low Gl, how long could it be before someone goes looking for you? Diverticulitis is serious problem as you said, nothing to take lightly. I sure hope they can take care of easily for you.

RYAN: Your eyes must be really tired at night from all that reading.

DUKE: Got to love those Berks. You sure are lucky to be near enough to one still operating. I sure wish they would bring one East for a railfan weekend.

GARRY: So DUKE is NOT watching is not keeping his eye on FERGIE? AND, he may indeed be an accomplice? Is there no one that we can trust around food in the Diner anymore?

Later,

Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Good evening, Diners - I'm taking a break from trying to figure out a GC Laser truck stake bed kit. The pieces aren't fitting quite right. I'll get back to it later in the week and see what I'm missing at the moment. As for now, just a cup of mocha, please. Thanks, Chloe.

Somewhat busy day today at the W-place. But then again, I wasn't brush-hogging or going through the garden, or doing other more strenuous things like Paul or Dick or others.Wink [;)]

Speaking of gardening, Dick, sounds like your garden is paying for itself big-time! Bow [bow] Now, if I had a green thumb and more space on my deck... (but I don't, alas. Dead [xx(] )

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] Jeff, about taking care of yourself and having some way to signal others if your blood sugar gets way out of kilter. We don't want anything happening to you, guy!

Chloe, a refill on my mocha, please. I'll be at the corner booth watching the early evening run - it should be by here soon.

Blessings and a good evening (or morning for OzJim),

Evening Gang: Well 4 more rifles cleaned and the pump house is looking good. The boys are doing a bang up job. The real expence is feeding them.

Garry the UP really isn't a problem. I've been getting along with them for close to 38 years.

Not much going on with the MRR. I've been watching the iron mining dvds anf gathreing ideas.

For not really w--king that hard today I'm tired. I didn't sleep well last night. I got up twice and sat watching TV untill I got sleepy again. I hope tonight isn't a repeat.

Garry, Yes, I did see it, and was going to give you the Thumbs Up [tup], but I didn't get back to the page.  Thanks for reminding me.  Were  you able to get those Pig Palace's with different numbers?  Nice job on the weathering.

Dick, The book is still not in.

Duke,  Nice photos.  Thanks.

No layout time tonight.

What...I'm gone awhile and you forget about me?....lol

It's me, Lilrob, from Texas. Just been busy with other things is why I haven't been here. And, no modeling to do is also why.

So, how is all? I'm still kicking. My parents are doing ok.

Hey, LilRob - I was thinking it might be you (but have you changed your username since last time in the Diner, or did I just dream that one up?). Hope you've been at least doing some MRR'ing reading - you can find MR mags at a lot of libraries, I've found.

A few more weeks and I hope to have that package off to you that we'd discussed. That can give you a little more to keep your spare time occupied. Wink [;)]

Everybody in your family doing okay since last time you were in? Seems like some of us in here have either had some health problems or have had family members with them. So take care of yourself.

Blessings,

Good Evening All,

Just back from the museum and dropping the next load of sorting and repairs to do. Over the weekend someone figured it would be fun to alter the settings on the Npossible gauge display and ended up recreating the wreck of the Federal at Jenkins Curve. So we start all over again tidying up and fixing. Oh well.

Der -  have enough wrecked stuff that for the time being metal wheels are not a problem. I'm just finding out about the different flange heights and haven't bothered with different axel lengths yet. Maybe next weekSmile [:)].

Jerry - I'm still digging through the debris looking for IC power. No luck yet but there's still hope. Brought another box of stuff to sort out plus enough stuff to make a small test loop in case I actually think I've repaired something.

Sue - I'll probably leave a couple of the Atlas turnouts in the back corners where they are both working ok and not very visible, but all the mainline will get Peco's especially one really troublesome turn and the home made double crossover. I especially like the hidden switch machines after i put a piece of black paper between the track and machine to hide it.

Well, tomorrow comes early so I'll wander off for now. CUL,Big Smile [:D] J.R.

Hey ya'll, I'll have some coffee Zoe.

JERRY, I've been around, just sneaking in the back door some and keeping up with all the goings on. Been some good photos posted along with all the layout progress coming along with ya'll.

I have started posts a few times, but realized, I didn't really have much say. Weather been all right, garden coming on heavy now, been freezing stuff, and now the caning is bout ready to start.  Yard work, honey-do's, and other projects are moving along slow, in between all  the grandkids most everyday.

Mother been busy most weekends, selling jewelry, if she's not doing that, then there's AL, or some thing else going on with family. The Clark county fair starts this weekend, so she'll be gone for 7 days, other than coming home to sleep n shower n change clothes.

Did get some trains pics in the lastcouple weeks or so, of Amtrak at the Effingham's station, a UP coal train coming through with a pusher engine, and some pics from Little John grain loading cars. More than i can post on here with dail-up, you can check then out on my link below.

Planning a trip to Terre Haute for some pics at Graham grain [now Con-Agra]. They have an Alco switcher, I've been wanting to get pics of and found out my FIL can help me get them and he has the manuals plus the bill of sale [he thinks], that I can photo copy [hopefully].

Also found out bout a short line, the Effingham RR over in on Effingham's west side. Which connects to the IC/CN and CSX. So, a trip over there is in the plans, just don't know when.

So, now ya'lls  caught with every thing with us here, still it seems nothing much to talk about, to me anyway. Hope you'ens has a good n safe day

inch

Also, if'en ya call here during the day, you'll most likely get the answer machine, leave a message. I'm outside most the time, changing diapers or something else is going on, and the [deleted] phone is the least of my worries

Early Afternoon All:

There was a big explosion in Dallas this morning. A fire at a welding supply firm near downtown has I-30 and a nother hi-way shut down. There was a pieces of gas cylinders flyint through the air. It's pretty well burned itself out now. Only 3 persons hurt so far. They are serious but in stable condition.

Ryan: I'm just getting the collection cleaned up. I don't think there is a revolution.

I just took a break to get dry and cool so I thought I'd stop in. It's not that warm but very humid. I'm working on the PTO shafts for the brush hogs. The gear box for the older one is locked up. It probably has some water in it that has rusted the bearings. I don't know if it's worth repairing as the deck is pretty beat up.

Welcome Sign - Welcome [#welcome] back Li'll Rob. I've been wondering how you were doing.

Krump it's good to see you back in the diner. You got to be carefull. Don't show up for awhile and they move.

I'll stop back in tonight.

(in a cushioned booth) Please & Thank you!

Took nearly 10 minutes just to figure out how to get out of bed and stand up today. Didn't mention it yesterday, but an old disc problem resurfaced. Feels like large sharp rocks stuck between several lower vertebrae, pressing on nerve endings. No pills have helped, not even ice. Does improve slightly as the day progresses. Still, I walk like a 100 year old and can only carry small flakes of hay at one time over and over to feed the horses (rather than the usual bale in each hand). Paying dearly for those serious triathlete days, and Degenerative discs that run in my family. OK, enough whining. Need to get out of this hard chair and move. I HATE this when it happens, but it usually returnes to normal given enought time. Oh well, whining doesn't get anything accomplished and I keep reminding myself it could always be much worse. Grumpy [|(] -Rob

J.R.- Muggle Fest was the first and last of it's kind. It was put on the celebrate the final Harry Potter book. I've volinteered there for big event's but this in my first time moving some many people in a short amount of time.

Dick- Muggle Fest was an experience for everyone. The MNGRR did the best it could, but in the end an extra car would have helped.

Everyone- you should check out the MNGRR web site. http://www.mngrr.org/ and http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/news/slideshows/narrow_gauge/

Afternoon all

Ryan

Oh, even better! I bet you can follow dem trains easier too from the bikes!
Yup,it did help but had to watch where and how we parked them so they would stay upright and you don't have to keep the thought in the back pocket. The room will be there if you ever decide to come up this way.

Dick Yes,we are very lucky to have a Berk that runs let alone just to have a steam locomotive that they will let on the tracks.

Rob I was too interested in the loco but I believe it was 5 or 6 coaches and the route was only about 39mi and a straight shot.

Sue

Nice photos. Thanks.
Thank you but I wish they didn't come out as dark as they did but I am still learning this digital camera. Confused [%-)]

Lilrob and Krump Sign - Welcome [#welcome] back.

Garry I haven't checked my Email yet but from Ryan's last post I think you have found them.
