FERGIE: Where is your oceanographers report for today???
Well I had a nice late afternoon post ready to send out yesterday but as is normal "It hit the fan " and it didn't happen. We lost internet at about 13:00 when the line got cut so we had to go back and fish for it and after about three hours we finally grappled on to it and was able to put a splice in it. it wasn't until after supper we got our TV and abilities back. I think we'll have to use bigger cable next trip as this is happening to much as of late. Unfortunately with the bigger cable it means our range will be shortened as we won't be able keep as much cable on the drum. So next trip we'll only have about 330 mile range. Darn!!!
We also had to get someone home yesterday as there was a critical illness in the family. Got him transfered to one of our SAR cutters late last night so he is well on his way home. We finally got back on station this morning at 06hr.
Jeff: Please take care of yourself as we forget about the ones that can be of good during these difficult times... Ourselves. No it's not being self centred it's a simple matter if your mother needs someone there you have to be able to be there in good health and spirit. So as I said take care of yourself!
Ed: e-mail is on it's way with the answers you are looking for.
Well I must be off!
Later All

You're most welcome, and you already have.
Last call for coffee, the pot is nearly empty guys....
ED: We leave next Tuesday also, for the coast of Maine for a few days vacation. When you fly to NF on Wednesday, we will be waving up at you as you fly overhead to NF at 32K ft. Are you going to be able to visit John in Northern NS, or LUC and Fergie in the coastal south area? At least you will be cooler up there.

Mr. Parks: Yes indeed. If I did all the work, you'd learn nothing from it. This way, you'll learn something about basic carpentry.

Unfortunately, it's now 9-2. Oh well, you win some, you lose some, but you suit up for them all.
We leave here next Tuesday (most likely) driving up to Houston. Will spend a week with daughter / son-in-law / grandson, then we fly to Nfld on Wednesday the 27th. Fly back to Houston on July 23rd. Then drive back down here.
Heartland Division - Sorry, Ed, that AC's don't always work in Paradise. It's annoying to be without power.
You've got that right. More than annoying. Although we thankfully had a breeze this afternoon (hot, but moving air). The wife is very happy living here beside the in-laws. So I'm willing to put up with some stuff that's not quite the way I'd like it to keep things happy.

Howdy!
Thanks Paul for posting the website. NEAT LOCOMOTIVE you're sitting on there. Wow! Now, I'm trying to decide which is taller, the stack on the loco or your hat!
Thinking about your Mom, Jeff and hoping the recovery continues.
Dick........ Palmer sounds busy. I do do recall the auto companies (GM in particular) sent vehicle loads from Michigan there.
In the train room today, I weathered some freght cars. Always something to do.

Good afternoon evening to all, today was cloudy and drizzly at times, that doggone cut-off LOW pressure system as migrated back towards the coastline and a little more south. I see that the midwest and deep south is suffering because of this block in the atmosphere also, very hot!!!
Today, I had to go to the dentist to get the partial bridge installed.....now I have full choppers on the lower left......it really was tough trying to eat steak. Then we headed to Tucker's Hobbies in Warren, Ma for a great couple of hours with the owner, Robert Buck, and yes I walked away with a few things: Two books, New York Central Pictorial Volume 3, EMD Locomotives by Brian Solomon, 3 Branchline Blueprint series passenger cars...Boston & Albany!!!!! Yes, finally some era passenger cars for the B&A !!! And they are great lookers, these guys did a great job !! And, two smaller items for the layout, Swifts Premium trailer truck, and Sears Delivery truck, both 50's era, 1:87 scale, made by Classic Metal Works.
Then it off to the "hot spot" of New England for RR action, Palmer, Ma and the Steaming Tender restaurant which now resides in the former RR station at the Diamond crossing. As we ate at the window table, two trains came by, one west on east. The east bound train was 100 car carriers long headed for the automobile depot in Brookfield, Ma. Two trains also on the siding line on the Central NE RR. Before you ask, no, I don't have photos, it was showering today as we left so I didn't bring my D70!!!!! Mistake !!!
ED: Sox are behind 3-2...no shutout for Shill tonight. When are heading to NF?

Unfortunately right now all we are picking are bananas, mangos and papayas. The orange harvest season won't start until mid-late October.
But if he's willing to settle for "virtually" fresh oranges, maybe we can work something out. In fact, there´s a car of fruit that went missing a few months back. If your railroad's tracking system can locate it you'd have your car of oranges, but maybe they'd be not so fresh by now.......
Hey all hows it going
Cox sent you an email last night.
not to much going on here room is done as far as walls . and floor . Even out in a new carpet last sunday and have 2 shelves up with my O gauge B&O on it with the 6 passenger cars about 14' long lol.

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
Good Afternoon Coffee Clubbers,
It was a real scorcher here today. So what else is new? We picked the wrong day to spend virtually all day working out at the orange grove. The things we do to keep The Coffee Shop supplied. Trying to get some stuff straightened out before we take off on our trip starting next week.

Paul W. Beverung wrote: Ed: Another trip? Boy you and Fran are really globe trotters. I can't get Mary Ann to take a trip. She always worries about the cattle. Our problem is finding someone to look after things.
Yeah, I am lucky, Fran is always up for a road trip. We're also lucky in that we have a full time employee to watch and work on the orange grove. No way could we do it all ourselves.
We're so busy we haven't even been able to take siestas.
Seems like you're a typical retarded person. Have you figured out how you got things done when you still had a daytime job?
No time for siestas!!! That's almost heresy. Keep that under your hat, if that gets out it could get you expelled from the AARP.
I'll be back later. Power was off all day (fortunately we were gone) and the a-c is struggling to get things cooled down. I'm off to take a cold shower.
Hasta luego,
Afternoon Gang: I'm in early. I was over at the track painting on one of the gondolas and it just got too hot. The shade had shifted so the car was in the sun and it was cooking me. I'll go back and finish later when it cools off a bit.
Garry: I forgot to add our groups web site yesterday. If you will go to www.avwrr.org you can see my locomotive as well as many more.
Well I'm going to lay down for a bit. See you all later.
Hello.........
DavidP thanks for the update on Jeff & his "Mom". We're worried. Jeff....... still praying for you and "Mom".
Paul... thanks for the interesting overview of your railroad doings. I'm interested in that stuff because my dad was very active in live steam and built some live steam locos. I stuck with the small stuff due partly to my moving so many time. (moved 18 times and resided in 8 states). Also, I recall the amount of time spent building and mantaining was much, much more than operating time. Must have been a ratio of 500 to 1 if it were ever calculated. However, I do admire the large scale very much for sure. I know there are many groups of live steamers in different parts of the world.
Bye for now.

HI!
Morning all -
Well all, I'm back to doing work on the WS Modular Learning Kit. I'll try and get some photos posted shortly of the progress.

Edit: TOTP honors - Eat Drink and Be Merry!
If you've been following our weather around here, you know the forecast for today!
TODAY: Not much to say here...dry, warm weather continues highs today will hit the mid to upper 80's.
THURSDAY: Hey! Maybe a spotty thunderstorm??? An upper-level low-pressure system that is stuck in the mid-Atlantic states will nudge back to the west. There may be enough instability to trigger a spotty thunderstorm. Not everybody will get rain, and it will by no means signal an end to the our dry pattern.
EXTENDED OUTLOOK: Since the pattern is stagnant, let's skip right to the extended outlook. Not good news for farmers or for the water companies here. Here is the upper level map by Friday morning.A ridge of high pressure will surround the state, and help keep the dry weather locked in. We should officially get below normal in the rainfall for the year by Thursday or Friday. If you have been following this chart this week, you may notice that the ridge may show some signs of weakening in the northern fringe in Canada, but a re-enforcing ridge may develop in the southern Plains.
DROUGHT WATCH, ANY RELIEF IN SIGHT???: Rain has been an endangered species since the month of May. Usually drought refers to a period longer than a month, but May was so much below normal, that it does classify as a short-term drought on the Palmer Index. Here is the latest Drought Assessment. Look at the progression of the drought from the southeast U.S. to here in Indiana!
When could we see relief??? Well, the latest projections point to the early or middle of next week. Here is the GFS Model map by Tuesday night. (It's large, so here's a link)http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/00/images/gfs_slp_174m.gif
Hi Chloe! Yeah, I'll have the country breckfast this morning, with lots of coffee. Thanks!
Good morning, Zoe, think I'll just have a go cup and one of Bill T.'s donuts, please. Thanks!
Quick run-through today. Need to see about contacting the lawyer today and see what options I have/can afford. Also seeing outpatient clients at work today, so will need to clear my mind before that.
See you all later, probably this evening.
Blessings and prayers,
