Hey guys.
Just finished up a TRS2006 Ops session... As usual I managed to not throw a switch causing a glitch that derails trains... Well I wound up with both of my Mikes off the tracks...
Good thing that doesn't happen on my model railroad!

Afternoon Gang; Mary Ann and I just finished mowing the front yard and the upper half of the back. We're taking a break like proper ORFs. Next is a trip to the concrete plant for a load of the stuff they wash out of the trucks. It's good road base and very cheap.

PC are you sure that the TV, VCR, and stuff will not slow down construction of the MRR? Actually I'm going to do the same thng.

Well time to lay back and watch Magnum. I'll see you all later.

Good morning.

I had a busy weekend working 12 hrs shifts. A funny thing happened on Sunday. The Speaker

WE INTERRUPT THIS POST FOR AN IMPORTANT NEWS FLASH.... Over to you George in the field...

I'm here at Gloetown's new location for the Station/depot where ground is about to be broken. The whole seems to be here for this special occasion. We are waiting for the G&LRR CED to join the mayor.

The band has been playing for past 45 minutes The town's people are dancing

I think I see him now Yes, yes indeed it is the CEO himself approaching the grand stand . The ceremony is about to begin.

Wait a minute, something is gone wrong. Oh! No! One of the workers has already begin to dig

The mayor has decreed that this was good enough.

WE NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED POST.

And He replied " thanks Dad". Hehehe.

Well that's it for now. Hope you all have a great day

Hey!

Thats my buddy!

Mornin' everyone!

And a fine morning it is!

Sun is out, at least for now.  Might rain later, who knows.  Weather guesser is saying "scattered thunderstorms".  Thats what he says when he doesn't have a clue I think.

Well, I spent an hour or so cleaning the train room last night.  I also added some bookshelves and a TV/DVD setup.  I was just too pooped to vacuum it though, so I'll do that tonight I suppose.  Then I can move around a bit better in there.  Gots ta have some elbow room fur layin' that track, ya know?

So what's up with you all?

Rob,

I must have been called away while making my post, because I made the post from your previous one.  Weird things happen when you aren't in several times a day.

I had quarter horses until about 6 years ago.  When my last horse died, I tried herefords.  Horses are definately more affectionate.

Better get ready for work,

Sue

Hey guys.
Thanks for the encouragement on saving. It's hard to look around and see micromark still selling consolidations for $142.50...
I can't wait for BLI to post sound samples. I really want to see if they can pull off actual accurate sounds.

***Paul, hope the results on Daisy's tumors are good ones. I'm sure the Vet Bill was not pleasant either.

Although I am a dog lover (down to 7 of them), there is no excuse for anyone to allow their dogs to harass someone elses animals. Your horse sure isn't the first to meet an untimely death for entirely avoidable reasons. Sounded like a real neat horse to go riding with.

Sorry about your back and can relate to some of that trouble myself, among other health issues. Growing older isn't a pleasant experience, IMHO, and I'm not that old yet. Then again, compared to what poor Zeke is dealing with, I have no problems. Sure do feel for that guy.

Evening Gang: Nothing new since this morning. I tried to work on the filled area for Mary Ann's storage container. It's still way too soft. The tractor sank to the front hubs. I'm going to let it dry out some more and then try some congrete plant leavings. That's the stuff that they rinse out of the mixer trucks. It's got sand portland and gravel in it and makes good road base. Maybe it will help dry out the mess and stabilize it.

Nice going hoople on the saving for the Big Boy. That's the way to do it.

Well it was real humid to day. When I stepped outside this morning my shirt was instantly damp. That makes it very hard to work.

I am going to head for bed.

Good Night All

Chloe, some nice juicy steak and potatoes sounds good, and a milk.

Nothin much new over here...
Well, look. Steak is done. Time to hide in the corner booth.

Good Evening Coffee Clubbers

Still out here in eastern Newfoundland.  It's been great weather the past couple of days.  Down around 10ºC (50ºF) for highs, spitting rain and windy.  Typical Nfld summer weather.  No a/c required.  In fact, my sister had to turn on her furnace for a while this morning as it was about 5º when we got up.

Tomorrow Fran, Junior, my brother and I head out to Gros Morne National Park, over on the west side of the island, for a few days.  None of us has ever been there, and it's one of the more well known spots in the province.  See:

http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/nl/grosmorne/index_E.asp

Not much railfanning going on, although I have been able to find out some info about the local branch of the Newfoundland Railway that ran through town here.  The rails were lifted back in the 30's, so info is scarce.  I did score a copy of an old town plat that shows the track arrangement almost up to the junction.  You can still see traces of the old right of way if you know where to look.  Fortunately my brother, who really has no interest in trains, does know where the line ran, and can point it out.

Hold the fort.  I should be back on line by the weekend.

Regards, eh.

Ed

It went rather well. I was able to get the yard mowed, got in some work on a couple of locos and had some watermelon with the family and some friends. I also got a new structure. The lumber yard and mill from Model Power.

, you going to be able to find space on your layout for that  cool lumber yard?

Afternoon all! I can't stay long, I've got a few yards to mow today...

Garry: Man, I can't stop laughing about the C&C guard snakes! Rminds me of the one I had roaming around my back yard a while ago. (This in in the city, by the way!) We kept him until he got big enough to eat one of the frogs in my mom's fish pond. Needless to say, we got rid of it. However, we now have a mysterious box turtle that somehow wandered into the neighborhood and took up permanent residence. We see him every once in a while.

James: Nice car! I've always liked the Falcons, but I (as well as the rest of the family) have a Chevy. We don't take kindly to no Ford! (Just kidding, don't worry!)

That's my 2002 Camaro Z28. You wanna race sometime? Wink [;)]

Jeff: Happy (late) birthday, man! Have somebody take you out and buy you something nice before I have to!

Jerry: Congrats on your 1,000th post achievement! I'm a little bit behind you as you can tell from my post count...

To everyone else, have a great day!
