Just a go cup of hot cocoa for me, Chloe. Almost time for me to head out for bed, anyway.
Jim: Lets hope it does otherwise a UPS man will find a grenade in his truck... Just joking.
Careful, Mark, nowadays you could end up with Homeland Security on your doorstep there. Remember how railfanning is watched more carefully now. That said, hopefully the Connie will show up as promised.
Ed, good to see you in the Diner, even if briefly. Hope nobody in the family got sunburned at the beach besides you. Have a good trip NOTB.
DerJohn, guess I overspoke about having your outdoors work done. At least you got your dock back.
I see what you mean about the road, JR. Maybe some of us here can come up with an idea or two you can use on the switch problem.
- Guess who's covering desserts tonight and breakfast in the morning? Okay, Chloe, let me know the damages in the morning.
Blessings and prayers,
Jim in Cape Girardeau

JR: How about leaving the switch in the road. I can remember there being switches in the road back in Milwaukee in the industrial areas and I've seen places in Ft.Worth where switches were in the roads. Just remind you crews about the 5 min rules. You know don't block the road for more then 5 min. The factory building looks good.
The pin looks like it maybe from the brake gear of a car.
Ed: I was just hoping. If you can give me a call if a phone is handy.
Mary Ann and I mowed the yard today. She got the front half done except where it takes the push mower to get into the tight places. I had the push mower in the back. I was doing the tight places and the railroad. Yes I had to mow the grass on the railroad. At least I don't have to do that on the HO layout. Next I'll have to put out the Roundup. I'd do that tomorrow except it's supposed to rain for a couple of days. We still have to finish the back and that could take the best of tomorrow.
Hoople: You'll like the consolidation. It ran real well on my layout. I think I sent it on to Jim.
I guess I'll head for the showers. You all take care and I'll see you tomorrow.
Good Night All
Larry is cooking steak tonight.
Even with nice weather, we found time for the layout this weekend.

Hi, friends.
I seldom stop here, but I have to ask.........I Big_Boy_4005 (Elliot) still around? I certainly have missed his posts on the General Discussion forum. David Telesha as well.
BTW: I'll take a good, long swig of some refreshing, ice cold orange juice.
"I like my Pullman Standards & Budds in Stainless Steel flavors, thank you!"
Good Morning All,
I'll have a regular and one of Bills' donuts please Zoe. 42F already and the high today to be in the 80's. Was it really last Saturday we were struggling to start race cars in 26 degree weather? The truck left for Road Atlanta this morning the crew will follow Weds. but I'll stay here and keep up with the job load.
Antonio - Elliot has been having health issues, fairly serious, and word on him is more easily obtained on the Classic site. David seems to have gone quiet here as well as on the NHRHTA site.
All for now - got to get back to it and crank out some billed hours. CUL,J.R.
Good morning to all. Great to see all the old faces in here and a few new ones too. Hope this finds every one well.
Been away for a while so I have a lot to catch up on. Unfortuntally I don't have a lot of time.
First let me say that we will not be moving to Mississippi. Infact we will be putting the house there up for sale as soon as I can get every thing moved back to Lafayette.
Spent a couple days in the hospital last week only to find out I have "Malignant Pleural". This is a terminal cancer that is caused by exposier to asbestos. I guess this goes back to my old navy days. The first Destroyer I was on was commissioned in 1943. They used a lot of asbestos in those days. I guess by 1958 the asbestos was starting to break down and bingo!
When we got moved to Mississippi I was going to be modeling the Illinois Central. Well I bought up about erery thing I could find in the IC livery. I guiss none of it will ever see track on my layout.
People, let me say I have no regrets. I feel I have lived a full and wonderful life on this earth. I have done about everything a person could want to do and probibly some things I wasn't suppose to do LOL!
I have an appointment with an Oncoligest tomorrow. I guess I will find out the details then.
I'll keep you informed.
Hope everyone has a fantistic day.
Neal
Morning All!
Kinda tierd this morning. Kept waking up all night, ya know?
I'f I didn't have to be at work, I think I'd just stay in bed.
Oh well, time to get my day on.......later!
P.S. - Neal, I'm sorry to hear of this news. I pray that things go better for you and yours then it looks right now. I also pray that you have settled yourself with your Creator.
Good morning, I will have my coffee black.
Our weather should be 65-70 today. We are going bowling with Larry's folks this morning, and then back to work tomorrow.
Yesterday, we did some major track cleaning, and exercised the Mike. The yard was empty for the first time in ages because we put the facia up on the window side so I could put skirt/curtain up. That sure improves the appearance of the layout from the outside.
Neal, sorry to hear about your health. Yes, I am a newby.
Later, Sue

Actually,it's one of several favorite photos that I like from http://www.miniatur-wunderland.de/
I do have a few more:

And here are some Train pics:

Bon Jour mais amis......( translation...Good day my friends for those who flunked French in HS ). It is 81.1F here in Central Ma highlands at 12:30pm...the record for this date is 84F set back in 1902...I don't think we are going to break the record because the SW winds are at 15 mph and stirs up the air too much even though it "is" the warm weather direction.
NEAL: I am so sorry to hear of your illness, I will pray for a good outcome......God may have other plans for you.
JEFF: Thank you Jeff for the info on Steward F7's.....It sounds like the buy might have been a good one for the Phase I that was $65 AB unit. Jeff, your native son from Louisianna is a folk hero up north in RED SOX land. You should see how this kid can throw a baseball. Last night in the 9th inning, he was throwing 98 mph fastballs to the Yankee hitters...what do feed your lads down there??? Whatever it is, it sure works...he is such a nice kids too, the whole New England area loves him they are wearing his shirt and numbers from age 6 months to 101!!
HOOPLE: Paul really liked the Consolidation I see.....and Jim should have it by now, it's only a hop, skip and jump from Louisianna to Missouri at Cape G. Lets see, DUKE has not run it yet, and neither has MIKE , NOAH or BILL NORTH. Cheer up Hoople, you might receive it by the 4th, but it will be all broken in for you, think on the positive side.
ED: WHAT A GAME!!!! You should have seen the crowd at Fenway!!! I thought they would go crazy after the 4th consecutive HR was hit. They were jumping up in down in their seats, and on their seats, guys and gals were hugging and kissing people they didn't even know...you gotta love the Yankee/Red Sox games, what a rivalry. They showed a cartoon on the 11pm news of the Yankee manager head going boing, boing looking from home plate to the green monster as each HR went flying out of sight!! Rumor has it in Boston that someone "spiked" the GatorAide in the Red Sox dugout with a special blend of OJ from Mexico....you don't know anything about this do you? No? I didn't think so !!! LOL

Hmmmm.
I guess Elliot and David are no longer members. I was hoping someone here knew.
Since Antonio's buying, I'm eating. I'll have the steak and lobster.
Dick: ED: WHAT A GAME!!!! You should have seen the crowd at Fenway!!! I thought they would go crazy after the 4th consecutive HR was hit.
I did see it on tv. By some miracle, ESPN2 down here had coverage. Got Friday's game too. I'm waiting to see if I get any of next wekend's matchup at Yankee Stadium. Oh, wait, I'll be in the States by then. Hopefully a better chance of catching the game.
Regards
Ed

Ed,
Yes, 1 2 3, must have been the intimidation of those god awful "green" home jerseys that did it.
Living here, just south of Boston, it's hard not to ever miss a home game, televised, radio etc. And if your real brave and want to drop the equivalent of 2 fine locomotives for the day, you can even go to Fenway and see the game in person.
Neal, I wish you good news after the onocologist runs his MRI and PET scans. The onocologist is going to be your new "best friend", they are a different breed of doctor for sure. Hope it is in one of the earlier stages and chemo and radiation can keep you here for a while. I just spent the last 13 months watching my wife go though hell w/ advanced stage 4 colon cancer. I got a crash course in cancer and it's treatment. Thought she would have lasted a few more years, but sadly no. We lost her on Mar 29th. I hope that your treatments won't be so bad. My wife was given a Build-a Bear that was dressed in a karate outfit. The headband was embroidered "CHEMO", we called it Kick A** Bear. It helped to keep up her spirits and fight right up to the last days.
Derrick, Well at least the first 2 pics look great
Well it's such a great day, was 85 degrees in Cambridge just after noon.
Think I'll have to fire up the grill for tonight and reach for some cold ones.

hey guys.
Well. I'm saving for this weekend. Train Show in Topsham, Maine. Going with Alex (RRdude).
*sigh* I'm kinda bored, up here not much I can really do with my layout now got my biggest senery pice out and is a pain to put in my closet. TV not much on. If only I had a good sized room for my trains then I could do wounders with it. Just that I'm limited by the amount of straight track I have now most is used for my main line and sidings.
Colby
To all you guys in the middle part of the country, be watchful, you have some real bad weather headed your way.
Neal: What bad news. Please keep us posted. I know that we're all pulling for you.
To everyone Bo Jure Nege. That's fractured French and Algonquin for Good Day Friend. I'll have to check the spelling.
We got the back mowed. Now I have to rake up the cuttings. It was like cutting hay. Since the locomotive isn't running I'll have to use the wheel barrow instead of the railroad to haul off the cuttings. Of course raking the stuff up showed up all the crass that was mised or just didn't get cut right so after cleaning up I'll have to cut again. I'll have to sharpen the blades on the tractor mower. That is a bummer of a job.
No MRRing except to expose more of the mainline. I've got alot of ties to replace. The two tracks up by the shop are going to be taken up and relaid a sometime later. I'm going to change the layout.
We've got some heavy weather out west that is supposed to get here sometime tomorrow afternoon. That will set back my mowing the pasture over at my neighbors again. Everytime I get ready to do it it rains again.
Well I guess I'll head out.

It was a sunny day, 70 degrees and we spent the day inside bowling. Sorry about the bad weather that most of you are enduring.
I hope that most everyone got alot done on their layouts this weekend.
Mark, Did the loco come today? They sure have been stringing us all along.
