I'm switching to Harpoon IPA, like right now.

I'll have to admit that I am, too. But that's only because the Harpoon hasn't cooled down yet.

A friend of mine forwarded this to me in email last October but I couldn't figure out how to post it. He sent me the actual mp3 file. The fidelity isn't as good, though.

Hey, there's no such thing as bad PR, right? Besides, it was very well done.

I laughed, too, because I really did have an ice cream parlor, complete with soda jerk, in a town I built for a McDonald's restaurant layout. Sorry, but the town was "McDonaldsville" not "Nutsville."

I don't drink Budweiser but I still think we should give August A. Busch, III and Patrick Stokes, A-B's chairman and CEO, respectively, memberships in the NMRA.

Just get it a download it before Bud makes the web site take it down. I guess other sites have been posting the radio spots and Bud has sent letters from their lawyers requiring the spots to be taken off. Unfortunately, Budlight.com doesn't have "Mr Miniature Train Modeler" posted on their site.

That was really, really funny - my wife got a good laugh out of it, too. "An empire between the furnace and hot water heater" - brilliant.

My wife thought that part was the best too as my eventual model railroad will literally cut through the utility room between the water heater and furnace (to prevent the need for multiple duck-unders).[:D]

Ernie,

I think everyone here realizes that AB is poking fun at MRRers and that the operator of that "perfect magical world" IS the "2nd jerk". If you've heard any of the other ABs Real Men of Genius series on the radio, they has been making swipes at a lot of folks. It doesn't bother me a bit.

My take is: If you can't laugh at yourself and your own peculiarities, idiosyncrasies and traits; then you've got problems. And - we all have to admit guys, we MRRers do have our own peculiarities. It's a prerequisite for anyone going into a hobby - particularly MRRing.

With that said, please excuse me, fellas. I'm headed down to the basement. I have to helix that I trying to build around my hot water heater...

About the second "jerk" reference...perhaps someone can explain if this is a real nickname or what....but after listening to this Bud spot last night, went home and noticed a CD my sister gave me...I believe the name of the band is Railroad Jerk and the title of the album is "One Track Mind." Is railroad jerk a common term referring to some part of railroading that some of us are not familiar? Perhaps they actually used some sort of slang term of affection or something in an accurate manner...rather than sounding offensive.
