Umm...I think this question is too broad for a "checkbox" style poll. Better to just ask the question and skip the checkboxes. Then you won't get tripped up by chronology and mergers.
B-Dubya -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside every GE is an Alco trying to get out...apparently, through the exhaust stack!

I'll take Wabash, Illinois Central, Chicago & Illinois Midland with a smattering of Southern and Rock Island. That pretty much covers my favorites with a few others that interest me.

Pennsylvania Rail Road. Here in Jersey we had a chance to see the port hole commuter trains, the famous GG-1 and during WW 2 the N&W Mallets. Then in the Central Division you have the 150 year old Horse Shoe Curve (4 track main), and the shops where they built their own engines. In my room I have a Pennsy Poster the caption reads "Eyes On Tomorrow" i think they may have been a little near sighted.

Some people like the big time railroading, but I myself like the old shortlines and local railroads. But don't get me wrong I do like the big railroads. One of them is the Rio Grande. Is anyone a fan of the Cotton Belt because thats my alltime favorite railroad.
