Whew.

Nice pictures.

I am in the middle of reorganization and will not be able to support any virtual operations at this moment. However final touches are being put in place and I should see some commerce on this thread before too long.

Keep in mind the earlier entries regarding the Falls Valley Railroad are now null and invalid, I am going to establish a new (Smaller) list of inbounds and outbounds to and from the Last Chance Junction which is a freelanced connection to the Old B&O Main east of Hagerstown Maryland. Falls Valley is currently a shortline providing access to a Atlantic Seaport via the Bay south of Baltimore.

Just realized the fat we're talking about model train interchanges.
In that case, The Cripple Creek central Gives out:
Gravel
Cement
Beef
General Goods
Refined oil
Furniture
We require:
Fruit Products
Cattle
Crude Oil
General goods
cut lumber
Cloth
Also, The cripple creek requires some temporary equipment.
We would like a 4-8-4, if any one has one.
We are selling a F40PH, and an F7.
Any takers?
Mark.

Hoople

I'll take that F7

We can fill your needs on the cut lumber and cloth.  Specify sizes on the lumber and type of cloth, and we'll set 'em out on the interchange track.  We don't have a 4-8-4, but we do have a 2-10-2 and a 2-8-2.  Perhaps one of those can suit your needs?

PA Belt

And, I'll take those F7's

We have available quite a selection of freight, but we don't have a steel mill online, in fact we ship out scrap ourselves.

To All:

Our current list of traffic is as follows:

Outbound:
Coal
Copper Ore
Gold (Ore and processed & refined)
Cotton
Tobacco
Expanded Foam Insulation
Asbestos
Wine
Flour & Processed grains
Fish (Fresh river Trout)
Lumber (also pulpwood and woodchips)
Microbrewed beer (several local shippers)
Textiles (many kinds)
Tractors
Scrap Metal
Antique Autos
Tourists

Inbound:
Plastic Pellets
Various grains
Wool
Glass bottles (empty)
Steel Parts (for Tractor Manufacturing Plant)
Tires (Tractors)
Wood Crates (for tractors)
Tourists

Our lumber mill is also set up for treating and shipping crossties, and our mine can supply ballast, the asbestos is useful for steam engine boiler jackets.  We have an Armored Pullman currently in leased captive service, and just completed armoring a caboose for escorting our gold shipments, complete with armed military guards.

We have and run quite a few F units, as demonstrated below:

The F's are light enough and easy on our ancient track and bridge, so we snag every one we can find.  Plus, we're kind of fond of them.  We also keep our eyes open for any RS units we can find.

PA Belt, Here's your F40PH. The cement and gravel will wait for you on the Stormont interchange. I'll take the 0-4-0.
TW, I'll take the 2-8-2.
We require lumber in various lengths and sizes due to the furniture plant we have here.
Any cloth will do, as long as there is a somewhat large amount of one kind.
We require 3 cars lumber, and 2 cars cloth.
Also, Now I need some coal for the citizens of cripple creek. I require one a day.

Hello, saw your thread and think it's a good idea. the Beardstown Terminal & Transfer Railroad needs business oppurtunities withits new expansion into Springfield, Il. Its an old abandon CNW line from Springfield into the riverfront town of Beardstown where we operate a port tranfser service for BN and NS. Our needs right now are few, as track rehab is currently ongoing, but we expect a growth in new customers soon.

right now we are eccepting loads of coal for European export and grain for southern feed mills, all transfered to barges. Also scrap aluminum for recycling plant, silica sand for glass plant, and liqiud asphalt and granules for roofing manufacturing.

were shipping out loads of glass, aluminum, roofing, and milled animal feed.

That'll be fine. I can't authorize T.R. until the Springfield branch is upgraded, until then I've got to rely on BN at Beardstown and NS at Meridosia.

I got my Swing crew drooping the boxcars off at NS now( its Sunday, they dont do anything 'cept hang around drinking Buds and watch BEARS!!! and Nascar all day anyhows).

Enough Bumping.

The participating Members of this forum interested in this thread will update the information "Eventually"

Kinda like real life cargo, you set out a car of widgets on the Interchange and it goes bye bye for 4 weeks.

Bergie and Company takes exception to bumping. Post your information and let it "Soak" for a while, dont be so impatient to get returns from others in this thread. I am going to be tendering a traffic matrix soon for the Falls Valley Railroad once I iron out what industry needs what.

A quick question before I get to deep into this. I know the carloading are "fantasy" interchange, but when you guys post cars and loco are you guys really swapping or is that fantasy, too. I do have a couple of items that I realize I'm not going to be needing after all. If its all fantasy, thats fine, too. I gotta start really planning this layout. I'm hoping to start building real soon. thats what i'm checking this out for.

OK, the Mike is on the way, along with the 3 lumber and 2 cloth.  I have also sent along 7 cars of coal for this week, with that assumed to be an ongoing contract.

Total interchanged to Hoople: 12 cars per week.

P A Belt

Engines received in good order.  I can fill your beer and antique auto contracts, how many of each per week?

Snagletooth

It's all fantasy on the board, if you want to do some trading, send off-list emails, or check out my group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/trainexchange/ and post there.  The actual swapping of cars was tried once, I don't remember if it was here or on my Yahoo group, there was a little interest.

This is all Fantasy Snaggle.

I think this thread helps some understand operations or perhaps improve thier view of industries on thier own railroads.

I think there is some actual swapping of cars going on but think that is restricted to round robin groups or perhaps visiting a friend's railroad and "Loaning" a few temporarily.

I recall some time ago interchanging with twcenterprises some really "Big" traffic and it turned me into a clerk one day a week trying to keep up with all the in's and outs of the interchanges on paper.
