Dave, it sounds like you were trying out for cra***est dummy as a child. Just kidding.
Me, after grduating from school of Uncle Sam in 71, bummed around till 75, then used some of my "schooling" and worked in limestone quarries for 18 years. Explosives technician would be real title, but lets just say crazy powder monkey. After slough-off nearly buried me I wised up and took a job in milk protein plant. We make 75% of non-dairy dry coffee creamer used in US. Am a rotating stupidvisor. Yes I spelled that right. Been there 13 years. It's a suck job but it's two blocks from my house and it pays the bills and has killer insurance. My other fun job/hobby can be viewed at
the funniesband.com I'm the old longhair that plays bass. Willy

QUOTE: Mustangg,

I hope that after you graduate from high school that you seriously consider attending either United Technical Institute (UTI) or Nashville Auto Diesel College (NADC). Excellent schools. Both offer 1 year of top-notch, intensive training. Jaguar, Porsche, BMW, GM, Caterpillar, VW are just a few of the companies that recruit graduates from these technical colleges.

BTW: It's no longer Auto mechanic, guy...it's Automotive Technician. Computer electronics are the new game with today's cars. Knowledge is economic power!

I know for a fact that many of the graduates from these schools that applied themselves are making between $50,000 to $80,000 per year!

Don't sell yourself short and GO FOR IT!

That's what I'm shooting for, because I love cars so much ( I actually like them a little better than trains[:D])

At age 44, I'm somewhere between unemployed and retired. I suppose I could say that I'm a retired professional model railroader. That wouldn't be too far off. I don't work for others anymore.
