I'm one of those guys with all those letters behind their name with a few numbers thrown in. My job title is 'highway transportation engineer" or to simplify it, otr trucker. Can't remember how many years, but I was under contract with Noah to haul the lumber he built his ark with. Also about a year and half ago, took on this part time job of following this forum. Great people here. Keep the shiny side up and the greasy sid down, Ken

Alive and well in Kelowna B.C., Canada.
A young and vigorous 36 (ancient, according to my kids!).
Here's a new job for the list: cab driver, night shift, 10 years.

I'm the resident "train guy" at the cab company and I've been asked to give metered tours of the local (and not-so-local) railroad sites of interest. It's great when you can bring your hobby to work or in this case bring your work to your hobby.

It's also a great way to chase trains when you're new to the city, I've done it myself when on vacation. Just ask for a driver who loves trains, there's always one, at least, and they can show you things you might never find on your own.

Nick - Did you by chance read the article from a few years back in MRR about that line you're building?

What I do now will probably not be my career forever. Its just something close to where I live and the work isnt all that bad. I work in the Meat Department for Economizer IGA in Lake Panasoffkee. It's just a little store that is well known for its quality meat. It's just a job for the time being. I'm just 18 and I just graduated so it's just temporary.

My title depends on who the company is billing for my time. Last I saw, I was called "Aviation Specialist." I've been called "Senior Systems Engineer", "Air Traffic Control Subject Matter Expert", and several other less elaborate things with four letters that might get me banished from these boards. Even dabbled in Program Management, but couldn't stand the bureaucracy.

My niche is that I know Air Traffic Control (8 years with the FAA as a controller), know how computer systems are supposed to work, and work on projects that combine the two.

Given the current state of the FAA and the airline industry, no wonder I like trains!

I screw the caps onto the bottles at the local Budweiser plant.

Actually, unemployed after more than 20 years supporting industrial equipment. Ain't no factories left in New Jersey ( a huge port where all the containers come in from China, though).

Possible wannabe computer nerd.

My baby brother Rob was in the gifted program in high school. Dad was so proud he took him to see his buddies at work and told them all Rob was in the special classes. We finally got Dad to understand the difference in Gifted and Special.

I missed the first questions so here goes;

I live just outside Indianapolis, IN. and I'm 39 years old.

And now for the current question;

I am the head of the service dept. for Indiana Telephone Co. (Yeah, I know, it's a fun job what with all those cheery people and their telephone issues, but someone has to do it!)

I own a 4x4 fabrication shop. One man band so iIdo it all.

I get a giggle now when I am at the counter with a customer and they eye a Model Railroader sticking out of my tool box behind me. I usually get some kinda comment. Surprisngly, it usually turns into a train swapping story with the cstomer telling me about "his trains when" when he was a kid
