P.S. Seriously though, I have two questions. #1) What kind of beautiful cat is that? #2) Does one have to take out special financing to obtain one? Purrr-haps a wild one. Him looks like nice little house kitty though.

Him is an oscelot. To be legal, you need a zoo keeppers license.

Judy used to get a bit frustrated with me because I'd get bored with one project before I'd finish and move on to the next one.

Right now the master bedroom is the only project that matters.

I need to have it done by Christmas.

But I thought all the rooms looked cool after the great job you did remodeling them.

The portable A/C unit is doing a good job of cooling down the bedroom.

At least I will sleep well tonight.

Good evening

Love to cook as well.  Honestly I only have about 10 dishes I've been perfecting over the years but they're always really good if I do say so myself.

Judy and I met in an Irish Pub.  We adjourned from sipping beer together, to a table for dinner.  She's the recipe maker.  My favorites of hers are Scuba Steve's Seaweed Surprise and Mogolian Beef Bowl.  Besides Taco Tuesday as a joint effort, we work pretty well together in the food department.

Soups are always a joint effort cooking day.  Just finished up Saturday's homemade chicken noodle with all the veggies tonight.  We had half a brick of gouda cheese left over from Wisconsin we needed to use up.  Those were the cheesiest, best grilled cheeses for dipping, I do believe we've had in years.

Hope Dawn is doing better soon David.  She's in our thoughts and best wishes.

I love to cook, too, and I'm glad Dawn has someone like you to do it for her.

One of my good bits of freshman knowledge I learned at school was not to take a first date to a movie, but rather take her to dinner, where you can converse one-on-one for a while and enjoy a nice meal together.

Not quite the whole story, but  45 years ago the first thing Dawn said to me was,

"Can I help you?"
She made my dinner.

The second time I met here  I said  "Will you marry me?"

She is a very good cook.   I'm better. Whistling (It's alright.  She agrees. Yeah)  LaughLaugh

Dinner  Todays request by Dawn.    Salmon on a bed of Roasted Mediterranean Vegetables.

That is easy to do.  I'll open a bottle of white wine to go with it.

Are you sure she's sick, and not just fooling you into making her such a fine dinner?

I love to cook.   Self taught from a young age and still learning.

Towards the end of November and into December  I shall be baking Sausage Rolls  and Sweet Mince Pies.     If my younger granddaughter joins in  then a few jam tarts are made as well.  The family are putting their orders in now.  Yeah

As for Dawn not been well.   Yes some days are good, others not so.

(The Salmon and Roasted Vegetables went down well.  Laugh )

Took all four dogs this morning and headed into the 1000acre wood. It was cold and wet and we loved it.

Owl was having Winnie, Rabbit, Kanga, and Piglet in for tea, and as we approached I heard Rabbit exclaim, JIGGERS!!!!! Here comes that guy again with his four mangy mutts!

I broke down and bought a portable A/C unit.

The outside air temperature indicator on the dashboard said 92 degrees on the trip.

It is miserable out there, and in here.

Officially we are 86 right now, but my thermometer on the back porch says 90.

It sure feels like 90.

Good morning from the West coast. It is a very still grey day.

Environment Canada has issued a heavy rain/wind warning for tonight so I want to get out a bring down two deceased black cottonwoods. If I leave it to the wind to bring them down they will get hung up on other trees and be hazardous, I prefer to be proactive and make sure they make it to the ground. I can just leave them where they fall to rot which they do quite quickly as they tend to explode when they hit the ground. These ones are a good 100' so should be fun.Laugh

But first I'll go for a skoot with my buddy before the weather hits.

Got another high-burn day today, so I can eat like a pig tonight. The Canucks are on the tube so the traditional pre-game meal is this.Dinner Sitting on the couch with a glass of scotch requires energy.Laugh

Best get to it, but first another gallon of coffee. I love moving to my own schedule, retirement is great.

All the best to all.

I haven't changed my own oil since I retired.

I have not changed my own oil in close to 20 years. For how little the dealerships charge, it just does not make sense to do it myself.

Good afternoon Diners.

It has been a bad 24 hours for Dawn.   She is really strugging with walking. Even been at the hospital today.  But hey!  We have been there before.  Just got to battle to the other side.

I always refer to Switzerland as the World's Largest Train Set.  It reminds me if a pristine layout, no litter, no graffiti, everything clean and all the trains are on time.

My first trip to Italy, we had Eurailpasses, so we rode a lot of trains.  The differences between the national railways in the early 70s was striking.  Italian service was marginal at best, but I'd have to say the train we took from Florence to Venice put most current US trains to shame.

But, to be honest, those old trains were an experience not to be missed.  Unreliable schedules, to be sure.  But, station stops were liesurely and you could get off for a few minutes, or even reach through the windows for a quick snack from the local vendors.  Ever get on a train where a guy brought a goat on a rope on board?  I have, and that's a memory that's lasted 50 years.  Our modern railroads are cleaner, safer and more reliable, but face it, back then train travel could be an adventure.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Good morning. Just a quick note because I'm typing on my phone. Our internet has been out for two days. Fiber cut somewhere.  I'm in the waiting room at the car repair waiting on an oil change. I haven't changed my own oil since I retired. Back trouble climbing under car. Have a good day everyone.
