Thanks to Kevin for the graphics.
This month we are in search of the splendor of the fall colors as the northern hemisphere transitions into fall (sorry Bear )
Please post any colorful, fall photos you come across. Someone already predicted a prevalence of Mike Daneman photos. They may be correct.

Let's have a fun FALL —
Cheers, Ed
Thanks for getting us going, Ed.
This photo was posted by Matthew Hicks on this forum years ago and has been the background on my computer ever since. It is the siding at Massive just West of Banff.
The CPR company paper tells of a grizzly bear that lived at Massive siding well into old age helping itself to the grain that fell from the trains. The rail crews were quite at ease with the bears' presence as the bear was with theirs.
My son and I hiked into this spot a couple of years after Matthew posted the pic and sat in this very spot for a couple of hours. Good times. Had the bear spray just in case.

Thanks for starting us out in the Fall Colours Ed.
I ran out of work early for the Fall season ahead of me and happy about it. I'm going to drive around and take some personal shots of Trains in the Minneapolis area and distant suburbs for Fall.

Hi TF,
That's a pretty incredible photograph!!
Watching the sun set is so relaxing! If Dianne and I win the lottery one of our first priorities will be to buy or build a four season cottage on a waterfront property that faces west.
Thank you for the great picture!
Cheers!!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Thanks for moving the Diner Ed!

Good morning, diners. Sausage and hashbrowns this morning, Chloe. We're headed out of town and I can't wait for the bacon to fry this morning.
Ed, thanks for moving the diner! I slept through the move, so it must have gone smoothly.
Kevin, I would bet that the 5:00 p.m. time is to get people home and off the streets before dark. I'm sure the police are on alert for neer-do-wells out looking for things they're not supposed to.
This photo is from about 20 years ago of the two maple trees. They are about twice this size now. Of all the trees on our property, these two put on the best autumn show:
Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning from the sunny West Coast where the Sun just popped up and is shining through our giant Sequoias and maples.
Thanks for all the kind words, folks!

How is it OCT already,
Greerings from my Southern Command post, we came down for a quick get away and to celebrate one of our musician firends birthdays.
Good to hear an update on Kevin.
I had to patch a hole in my siding down here that a limb had knocked into during one of the many tornados of this past spring.
Also having to fill in a hole, where squirrels are getting and chewing on things in attic, I shooed one out yesterday and found they were coming in around AC hose hole.
not much else going on,
Up in the north woods of WI for a couple of weeks, it's just starting around here, I'll make sure I get some pics as it develops.
Just wondering, anybody heard or seen anything from Henry?
Nice sunset TF !

Henry and Charlie have both been missing from the diner for a while (unless I missed something).
Hope they are OK.

Speaking of someone missing. I found Cuda Ken's real name and address the other day when I was cleaning up my filing cabinet. Is it kosher to drop him a note to see how he is doing? An internet search revealed no obituary; although I am pretty sure his father recently passed.

[Not Good] news from Kevin —
He went to the storage unit where all his model RR equipment is stored and the place is in shambles. No security, the gate and fence is destroyed and his storage locker looks like it has been inundated with water. He couldn't get the door open due to boxes piled against it. He is concerned about looting, now.
What a shame that he has waited so long to get his model RR going and having to deal with contractors and all — and now this.
His neighbor is being very helpful and still sharing the generator power (and some home-cooked meals . Kevin is going to try to find some gasoline to help them out.
I wish I had some words of encouragement for him but I'm at a loss. These people are dealing with such devastation.
Regards, Ed
gmpullman[Not Good] news from Kevin
Hi Ed, and Kevin if you are listening,
I'm really sorry to hear about Kevin's losses. Thank goodness that he has a kind neighbour! Hopefully his model railroad equipment can be dried out, but if it was salt water that inundated his storage locker, he may not be so lucky.
I would normally end my post with a 'Cheers!!' salutation, but that might not be appropriate given the circumstances.
Best wishes Kevin!! Hang in there!
Good Morning,
Words are inadequate to express my sadness and sympathy for Kevin and his community's situation. I've seen the effects of water here way too many times, and it is incredible the damage it can do.
When Harvey hit 5 years ago, it took a good 3 years for any semblence of normalcy to come back to the affected neighborhoods. It was a mess - and that was from water, and not so much wind. Looks like Kevin's area got beat up by both.
Even with insurance (home AND flood), recovery is a long and drawn out ordeal. But worse than that is the mental / emotional effect that may never go away.
To whoever has contact with Kevin, please let him know that the folks on the Forum feel for him and wish him the best!
ENJOY !

Good morning, diners. Donut day today.
After dealing with Hurricane Katrina's aftermath, I also know that Kevin's area is in for a long recovery. However, it will get done.
Hopefully, some of Kevin's railroad stuff with be able to be recovered. I know it's a trite saying, but it is true: things can be replaced, lives can't. We are thankful that Kevin and his family are safe.
I don't have any photos of trains and autumn leaves. I will have to start looking online to see what I can find. None of the leaves in our area are changing yet except for the ash trees, which just turn brown.
Prayers on this Sunday morning for Kevin and his neighbors.
Have a good relaxing Sunday.
Sorry to here about Kevin's situation, they will be in my prayers. We recently had to move my mother back up here to Maryland from Okeechobee FL, no word on her property yet.
Good morning to all, have a nice day.
Been raining here in the Mid Atlantic since Friday, not expected to stop until early Tuesday.
But no dangerous weather here, not even enough rain to worry about flooding.
Take care,
Sheldon
Good morning
I just found out I have no Fall colours in my train picture collection. Huh, hopefully I'll find some time to go rail fanning and take a few shots.
I was sorry to hear about your model railroad stuff in storage Kevin. What a shame, I know what a long time it takes to acquire all that and it certainly isn't easily replaced. I'm very Thankful you and your wife were safe through that wicked storm is the most important thing though.
The news has been saying how all the crime has been going up and Judy has certainly seen that its true. Last week for a second time a car was left sitting in the parking lot on its rotter's with the nice wheels stolen. A few days later 5 cars had their side windows broken to steal whatever was in the cars.
The Hotel is in a decent neighborhood but their coming in from somewhere else for better pickings I guess. I had lightened up my keys so I don't wear out another ignition. She told me to bring in my keys in from the center console for the tool topper and trailer just in case and I agreed with her.
Yesterday was beautiful weather so we went over to Bush Lake to have another picnic and play some Yahtzee. It wasn't until we were ready to cook our half pound cheeseburgers that we realized the keys were not in the truck anymore to open up the back to get out the charcoal and lighter fluid. At that point all we could do was eat our potato salad and snacks. We felt like the Crooks stole our cheeseburgers as well
Have a great Sunday gentleman
Sure wish I had a breakfast club to go to this morning. The Vikings are playing the Saints in London across the pond over at David's neck of the woods.
It looks like Saints Fan John and me have a little rivalry going on today...
