My Grandson Carter won his High School football game.

We couldn't make it to that one.

We are ever so proud of him!

Carter's a big boy and has the Kindest Heart that's as big as himSmile

I slept in later than normal today.

Yesterday, I watched the entire Netflix series The Devil In Ohio.

I enjoyed it fine, right up until the end. They tried to "twist" the tale at the end, and it felt just tacked-on. They should have ended the final episode 10 minutes earlier.

My wife's Vet hospitals would just pass on unpaid bills to the collection agencies, they would usually get paid eventually, sometimes years later as the scumbags could not get a mortgage or car loan until all these debts were off the books. When they did get repaid it came with a whole lot of interest and other charges added on. Stupid is as stupid does. All the best to all.

Nice Pickture.  Collection agency is required by federal law via medicare.

Good Morning Diners.  Zoe, I'll have a ham and cheese omelette, apple juice, and one of those burgers from the Cozy I missed last night.

Well, I was right.  My daughter's team made the quarterfinals as the top wildcard team.  It's going to make for a long weekend in a couple weeks.  I'll be driving 5 hours round trip to pick up my oldest next Thursday, right after work, to come home for homecoming.  We'll go to the homecoming football game Friday night, get up at about 4:30 am Saturday to drive 2.5 hours one way to the other side of the state for the soccer game, hurry back afterwards so my youngest can get ready for and go to the homecoming dance.  Then, assuming they win their soccer game Saturday, get back up at 4:30 Sunday and do it again.  Then, after I get home Sunday, turn right around and take my oldest on the 5 hour round trip back to college.  Ugh!  My only hope is we are bringing my oldest's roommate back home on Thursday too.  Maybe we can get her parents to drive the girls back to university.  They seem to be generally reluctant to drive their daughter back & forth, so I'm not holding my breath.  Next semester my oldest can have her car on campus.  I can't wait.

Good morning from the sunny West Coast.

hon30critter

I have been watching Queen Elizabeth's funeral and procession. It has made me feel a bit melancholy. I have to admit that I am a monarchist despite the negatives that the British Monarchy has been responsible for in the past. I won't say any more because I don't wish to offend the moderators.

Cheers!!

Dave

I picked up the service at the "long march" our time zone was not favourable for watching the whole thing. I wasn't getting up at 0200hrs.

I must admit that as I watched there was time for a lot of reflection back on my 65+ years. Watching the long march was something. Five-plus km walking that slowly would try my patients. I do a 10km walk/run most days and it takes just a tad over an hour.Laugh

I don't think we will see another example of such pageantry again in our lifetime Nowhere else in the world do you see such grandeur. The thousands of people in uniform were quite something to be witness to.

My daughter came home from University when they announced a National holiday for today. Classes ended at 1430hrs on Friday and she hopped on the bus right at University straight to the ferry. She will go back in the morning as her first class is in the afternoon.

I just got off the bike and need to hit the shower and head out for our fourth Covid vaccine and then Costco. No one gets through Costco faster than my wife and I Laugh It doesn't matter what my wife is shopping for be it groceries or clothes she is in and out of the store in the wink of an eye. She owns one small purse for formal occasions, maybe two pairs of good shoes, and a handful of nice outfits. No wonder I love her.Laugh

Another dishonest person I stumbled upon I guess.  I hate it when that happens! ...

I always told my kids that being a little bit honest is like being a little bit pregnant. You are either an honest person or you are not.

When I was a landlord I filed a couple of times at small claims court. Even though I knew I would not get paid by one of them it ruined any credit rating they might ever get and warned others. Never had to file for my fencing company always got paid. I did put a lean on a house that was being built when they damaged a property I owned. I could tell they were going to try and dodge the situation, one call to the lawyer had them scrambling to rectify the damage or they would not be able to sell the house.

Hi Everyone,

I found the pictures of the 3rd largest (allegedly) grain elevator in the world and the pictures of the Cozy Inn.  I realize it's a bit of backtracking, but it will help clarify what I had posted about.

Good afternoon diners.  I'm a bit late for coffee, so Chloe how about a cherry coke?

Had a great weekend.  Picked my oldest up from college Thursday night, had wonderful days Friday & Saturday getting things done around the house, family time, etc.  Sunday, took my oldest back to her dorm on the way to taking my youngest to a soccer game about 3.5 hours from home.  This was one of the games that are part of this statewide playoff style tournament thing, and the girls came away with a 3-0 victory.  As they finished second in their bracket, it's a waiting game to see if they get awarded one of the wild card spots in the quarterfinals.  Looking over the results out of the other brackets, I'll be absolutely shocked if they don't get in.  They should be the first wild card team chosen based on every metric I could come up with.  Goals for, goals against, goal differential.  They rank tops in all of them out of all the non-bracket winners.  They look to be about the 4th or 5th best team out of the 20 that started the tournament.  Fingers crossed!

Looks like I've got a lot of diner news from the weekend to catch up on, so I better be going.  Later guys!

Judy keeps planning these fun 3-4 day weekend get-aways.  She is trying to get the time off for the first weekend of October to go up and visit her Mom.

Her Mom needs some help getting ready for Winter with some things that need to be done outside the house.

We go up there every Fall and get that stuff done for her.  Her Sister and my Brother-in-law already have the time off to meet us up there.

We all have fun getting busy helping her out through the day and have our bonfire and some laughs at night.

Judy's getting a little nervous as the hotel is short staffed and she hasn't been confirmed the time off yet.

Nobody wants to work anymore.  I don't get it.  How are all these people that don't want to work anymore making ends meet.

She told me five girls called in today and I have a feeling with that, I'm going to be picking her up late tonight.

Hope things straighten out down there so we can go up there next month.

But that was an honest mistake and I can see how that happened.

I guess it's just wishful thinking that everyone in the world would be honest and decent to one another.  Shouldn't have to be that hard as it's easier to do.

Good morning.  Bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and coffee, please.

I have a busy day ahead, so after my morning walk, I immediately mowed the lawn and got that out of the way.Smile

The out-of-town company has left, so today is cleaning the guest bedrooms.  Then a doctor's appt., a trip to the store and pharmacy, and other chores.  I should be able to relax tonight about 9:00 p.m.

I don't like days like this.

My wife is watching all the royal funeral stuff.  She loves all this, and I'm really not that interested.  She loves English royal history.

I hope everyone has a great day.

I did much of nothing, read, read and read.  sat on the back porch and listened to the birds, watched the squirrels and such. Acorns hit the tin roof, the light breeze blew.

Good morning everyone.

I have had a great few days. Not sure why, but I have felt great for an entire week I think.

Having my wife back at home has been great as well, even though it has not even been two days yet. I really missed her this time.

My lawn service just got done mowing my yard. It looks great. Those guys do the part of home-ownership that I hate.

We only have a few weeks left of the rainy season, so I really need to get my irrigation system for the lawn in place.

I bought some toner from a company we seldom use, they put the invoice in the package. We do pay on invoice, but when this package arrived I just tossed it up on the shelf with other boxes of toner and did not look at it. Eventually we would need this toner for the one machine that used it.

They called us, but the business manager had no clue, even though I did submit the purchase order.

Once we figured out what the invoice was for, I pulled down the box, and there was the invoice attached to the box.

Bottom lion is, if you want to be paid on time, put the invoice where I can find it.

Good morning

I've had a rather large sum of money billed out on an invoice since July 25th and sent another one since.  I still haven't been paid.

I don't think I'm gonna!  It's been roughly 25 years since the last time this has happened.

Good evening

It's good to hear from you Brent.  Ever since I've heard from you the first time over 5 years ago, Judy and I have been making preliminary plans to visit Vancouver.  We will vacation on the west coast of Canada amongst the palm trees on the beach.

We have our new passport driver's licenses now.  Besides that, we have family all along the way before we cross over.

BATMAN

The next day he calls me up at the crack of dawn

It took me a little bit but that sounds normal Brent.  In my family, my daughter's call me up at the crack of noonLaugh

Neither one of them have a lazy bone in their body but they prefer to work night jobs for some reason.  Last time I checked, I'm not a vampire but I'm starting to wonder if my ex-wife wasLaugh

One makes the donuts and the wedding cakes as the other one makes cabinets as she wants to be like her dad and I have no idea why?

You've always came across as a great Dad who has a wonderful family as I can tell by reading your words all these years.

I didn't go on my yearly Canadian fishing trip since the covid crap.  Judy says I've been behaving differently since I haven't done any serious fishing.

She could be right.  I've noticed I need to shave in the evening as the five-o-clock shadow is getting way out of control at about 3:30 nowPirate...Laugh...Wink

Good afternoon from the stunning West Coast. I spent all afternoon lying in the Sun drinking beer as I am just out of gas.

I have not been around much but have been keeping up with the diner's goings on a couple of times a day. An old guy has to sit down for a break too often these days.

It has been an interesting summer. If you remember the kids GF totaled the car we gave him for graduation way back when.

He had been without a car for over three months as he has been too busy to go buy another and did not really need one. He finally decided he better get one as he was going to need it. He called me up to go with him to buy his special order BMW right from the factory in Germany. Let's just say the sales guy was less than honest with him on the phone and the delivery time went from six months to three years once he had us in the dealership. We left and won't be going back to that dealership.

The kid decided he better get something for the short term and were walking around the auto mall and we spotted this. Took it for a test drive and he bought it.Laugh It was a work day for him and he was glad to get the car thing behind him.

The next day he calls me up at the crack of dawn and says, I need a Dad day. I drive into Vancouver and away we go, I drive the entire day. I still have connections at the high-performance driving centre where the Feds sent me numerous times to learn a thing or two. We spent an hour or so on the track and then headed for Whistler for a late lunch. We were gone 14 hours and burned through two tanks of gas.Laugh

It goes pretty good, 0-100kmh in 5.5seconds. It is sluggish in the handling department compared to some of the cars I have driven over the years, but not too bad. We had a great day. Here is me on the way to Whistler.

I enjoy hearing about Mike's kid's soccer, the kid and I spent weekends and a couple of weeknights at hockey together, I really miss those times. I am glad I am still the guy he calls to spend time with.

My best friend has about half a dozen V-8 Vegas he drag races. Always under the hood trying to peel off another fraction of a second.Laugh Me, I try to tune up me. I have a bet going on as to whether I can reach a certain level of fitness and I am almost there. It cost me nothing if I don't achieve my goal, but get rewarded big time if I do. I had a full workup and test done by the pros this week. They took a ton of blood and put me through the wringer. My Garmin shows a fitness age of 43, however, their calculations show me at a fitness age of 38.7. I am a happy camper. Not bad for a guy closing in on 66.

TF, love the donkeys. I immediately thought of you when the kid bought the Mustang. Not a classic but fun non the less.

Early grain loading.

All the best to all.
