California is simply incredible.
We need RR Mel, HO-Velo, and other non-diner-regulars to help us out.

Living the dream.
SeeYou190I did not take many train pictures when I was in California.
I was there in 2003 and shot a little video:
Enjoy, Ed
hon30critterWould anyone care to start with some California railroading?

I did not take many train pictures when I was in California. I was too busy seeing everything else that was so amazingly beautiful.

Regarding the July Diner location, there doesn't seem to be a strong concensus regarding any of the locations, so I'm going to suggest that we do the locations in the order in which they were suggested. That would put California first, short lines second and Kansas third.
Unless someone strongly objects, I think we should start in California. We can do short lines in August and Kansas in September.
Would anyone care to start with some California railroading?
Cheers!!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Who says there arent any great deals anymore?

Happy Canada Day to those in parts up north!

It's like Arkansas, but without the "AAHHHRRRRR", so pirates can't find it.
Hi Everyone,
Thanks Dave for starting the diner. I think iPads are limited in what we can do on here.
Well, let me see if I can prod this along a bit.

Anyway, wheat harvest in Kansas is wrapping up now. I'll have more to say later.

Happy Canada Day!
This won't be on Youtube for long.

Well, If we can't decide between Short Lines and California, why not just do Kansas Grain as UP suggested... then we have two more months of diner locations already in the queue.
Happy Birthday, Mike!! Tip back a Faygo.

Good morning, everyone.
I have a busy day, so I'll check into the diner later.
Dave, thanks for your work moving us. I had thought we were doing short line RRs, but California is neat, too.
Maybe a coin flip will do it!
Happy birthday, Mike!
Talk to everyone later.
York1 John
Happy Birthday Mike!!
I hope you absolutely spoil yourself, or better yet, get someone to do it for you!
Good Morning Diners! I'm off to the chiropractor in a moment, then to the meat market, and then.....only what I want to do. It's my birthday, so no work as far as I'm concerned. No opinion on where the diner goes either. You guys decide. It can be your present to me.

Thank you for setting up the new diner location Dave.
California sounds good to me.

Hello everyone!!
Welcome to Jefferys Diner for July, 2022!
Last month we became virtual honourary Newfoundlanders. I hope you have been able to get the taste off of your lips after kissing the cod. I'm sure thr Newfie Screech helped with that.
We have had several suggestions regarding where to take the Diner for July. California was suggested first by John (York1), and Paul (Lazers) suggested visiting short lines regardless of the location. There were a couple of votes for those. Recently Jim (up831) suggested the grain operations around Kansas City. Let's hear some votes for which location or theme you like the best.
