A one "L" Lama is a priest.

A two "L" LLama is a beast.

But I don't even want to meet a three "L" Lllama.

The sisters used to raise llamas. I put a toy doll on the fence post.

We called it the llama's dolly.

'Danger Man' with McGoohan was a half hour that grew into an hour.  ITV made it, and it was repackaged for the USA with the Bondish "Secret Agent Man" theme song. Roku has it available among its base-level offerings.  The prints and the sound are excellent. Lots of "The Prisoner" foreshadowing.  Long seasons with lots of episodes and actors you'll recognise like Lois Maxwell and Honor Blackman.

Evening Railroad Fans

I finally got it organized

My brother and my best childhood friend Jeff are going to go up to Beast Lake.

When people say don't go back there it is antagonizing and much too tempting.  I finally got my two favorite people on the same page.

First I got to go back up to Wisconsin because my brother-in-law and Judy's sister miss us and she got two side by side Hilton rooms next weekend an hour and a half out.

I got to admit that sounds funner than going to look for Sasquatch.  Nobody else has ever found him and what makes me think we're gonnaLaugh

Well, I can't deny the smile on my face, It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chasePirate

Actually it sounds like a really bad idea to walk back into that nightmare but it sure is always fun to talk about thoughLaugh

My post said McGoohan was in the Avengers.  I didn't mean that.  The Avengers, with Macnee, was another of my favorites.  Attributed to happy hour before my post.

And with the (insert your applicable adjective Whistling) Diana Rigg!

Did they ever explain that rolling bubble thing?

Not that I know of.  It seemed to have a mind of its own, and was used to keep the prisoners in line.  It could chase people down no matter where they went or how fast they were going.

Number Six (McGoohan) was a former secret service agent who was imprisoned in the village.

Great (but weird) show!

McGoohan was also in Secret Agent  Man before the Prisoner.

Secret Asian Man and The Girl With Colitis Goes By.

The best-known version of the Original Secret Agent Man as the theme music for the American showings of Danger Man, a spy show starring one of my favorite performers, Patrick McGoohan.  He went on to create The Prisoner, perhaps the weirdest and most confusing TV show ever.

And the Dali Lama is he one and only Sacred Asian Man.

Gidday Chloe, just dropping in for a minute or two.

I know it’s relative David, but I hope Dawn gets better soon.

I’d suggest that if our kids are earning more than us, and if they’re happy in their work, then have we not done a good job as parents?

Well, it’s currently 30°F, 0038 hrs, Monday, the first of August, so here’s some final California related posters/ads from me.

Good morning

The say our cool streak will be ending today as its going to get back to 90° and humid again.  It was low to mid 70's for a week which was rather enjoyable weather up here.  I always did like the 70'sLaugh

Thanks for sharing Dave.  I did know that is a high paying job your son has.  I've always had the opinion any honest way to make a living is respectable.  I know I couldn't handle a job like that with my week stomach though.  I'd probably be down there adding to the messLaugh

I certainly remember this one job way back when, how could one forget that one.  My Dad and I had to dig up and re-do the overflow drain field on the septic tank at the resort.  That wasn't a very fun job.  That's when I learned my gag reflex was still working fineLaugh

We had separate drain fields off the kitchen sink lines on the cabins to keep the septic volume down.  I remember re-doing those at times and even the sink waist water wasn't too pleasentIck!

We had to have the septic truck pump us out at least once a year.  Another high paying job.  Those guys don't come cheap!

Sorry to hear you wife isn't feeling well again David, hope she is feeling better soon.

Thanks for the sunny side Lion.  That's the way I prefer them.  Something to sop up with my toastDinner

Have a great day gentlemanWink

Good morning, everyone.  It's donut day.

On the subject of kids' earning power, my wife and I always talk about this when we visit our daughters and are coming home.  They all live on such a different level than we do.  David, our situation with the kids' incomes is the same as yours.  Amazing.

I've never been there, but I know some of you diners have visited the California State Train Museum in Sacramento:

Anaheim's regional transportation station:

Most world cities have transit systems that people ride just to get somewhere.  In San Diego, you can ride the transit system for the scenery:

Good morning Diners.  A coffee on the go please, Chloe.

Just a quick call in as Dawn is unwell.  I have to collect some medicine from the local chemist, for her.

Dave.   The amount of money children can earn these days can 'blow the mind' of us older folk.  Our Daughter and S.I.L.  earn more in two months than Dawn and I did  in a year;  and that was just before we retired.

Try and call in later.

Stay Safe Everybody.

Track fiddler
we moved on to a new track we're working on called "Workin Down the Sewer Hole

Hi TF,

"Workin Down the Sewer Hole" is what my son has been doing for the past year or so. He's not underground all the time but he does spend some time there. Modern waste water management is mostly mechanized but there are a few jobs like cleaning off filter screens that can be pretty gross. They wear full face masks with oxygen for a reason, and no, condoms do not dissolve in water!Ick!Smile, Wink & GrinLaughLaugh Most of his work involves monitoring the process and making repairs.

He is working there in order to get his waste water management licences, and he will have achieved that goal within the next couple of months. After that he will be applying for team lead and/or supervisory positions where he gets to tell others to do the dirty work. He already has all of his potable water licences so he will be able to work in any aspect of the operations.

By the way, in case you might think that he is in a low paying job, he has made it onto the 'Sunshine List' for four years in a row. That's the list that the Ontario Government produces each year which shows all of the provincial and municiple employees who made $100,000+ in a year. I could hold my nose for that sort of money too!

Cheers!!

Dave

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Hello again everybody.

It has been a dry day down here. I got some lawn maintenance taken care of, put the new wheels on the dolly, and cleaned out another part of the garage.

All and all... a pretty good day so far.

Secret Asian Man was funny stuff when I was remodeling Charlie's bathroom.

Charlie had an adopted Chinese son that Judy and I loved talking to.  Chris was a very admirable and polite kid.  You can tell who the parents are when you meet someone like that.

We started remodeling the bathroom early one morning and thought nobody was home.

Ironically on the way to work that morning Secret Asian Man was playing on the radio and the last thing we heard.  Judy and I kept singing it over and over after we started working on the bathroom that morning.

Chris finally came out of his bedroom busting a gut and gave us both a high five.

He thought it was hilarious and didn't need anything explained to him.  There is no prejudice or colour in the presence of love.

Things got funner when we decided to start recording our own songs similar to Frank Zappa or Weird Al Yankovic would do.

A sign of a sick, twisted mind.  Next things you will do are versions of

Secret Asian Man and The Girl With Colitis Goes By.

It is a good thing that I wasn't paying attention... I do not need monsters like that!

Neither do I,  I hope that never happens in my lifetime because I'm a bit unsure if I'm supposed to disappear or not if It does?

Have you ever walked down the Avenue or on a trail in the woods and suddenly stopped because you saw Two Pine Trees that you knew very well were together for a very long time?

Neither have I but I knew right away which one was the male next to the girly treeIndifferent

I looked underneath right away for the siblings but I think they had been taken care of by Lawn Mower GuyHuh?

A Trail in the woods is definitely better than an AvenueWink

Lots of police activity on the street today. We hardly ever see police on the fringes of Cape Coral.

The girl next door was arrested for some reason. She is 19 and has always been a good kid. Something must have happened.

Then two police cars followed the kids home that live across the street, and arrested them in their driveway. No lights, sirens, or action. It was all very peaceful.

I would not even know if I did not have cameras outside the house.

Grandson number 3 arrived  beginning of the week and was to stop two days, then 3, then four.  Fifth day he has had to go home.  His brother and sister want to come.  Big Smile

He has such stories to tell.  Shipspotting.  The beach.  The playpark.  The Transport Museum.  Oh!  and running trains.  No timetable.  Just running trains the way  he wanted.

I need a rest!!!   Laugh
