Good day all.  Day 1 of Total Lockdown 2.  Not much going on as people have to stay indoors most of the day.  People celebrated Bonfire Night  a day early yesterday, so it should be a quiet night.

Waiting for some items to be delivered so I can my entry to the competition.

Pan fried Halloumi cheese with lentils etc. tonite.

Stay safe everyone.

In 1996, from November 9 through November 13, a storm dropped over 70 inches (178 cm) of lake-effect snow in the city of Chardon over a period of six days.

It is funny to hear you guys talking about snow when we are expecting a Tropical Storm (Eta) on Monday!

Good morning, everyone.  Bacon, eggs, and coffee, please.

Not much going on other than packing to head out of town.  Perfect weather today in the 70s.

Kevin, it's too early for you to be up and in the diner.  Are you OK?

I am fine, thank you for your concern.

I have dentist and doctor appointments coming up at 8:00 in the morning, so I am adjusting my sleep until these pass.

Also, the workers are supposed to be here Monday (yeah, right) to install my rear door. I need to up bright and early for them.

If any of you love James Bond movies (like me), the BBCAmerica channel on Friday is showing the first three with Sean Connery:

Dr. No

From Russia With Love

Goldfinger

Lots of fun watching those.

I have all the 007 movies on DVD or Blue Ray. If my model building workbench was still fully functional, I would be watching them right now.

Good morning

Another beautiful one.  Another outside day planned.  Just don't know what those plans are quite yet.  We'll have to ponder some more over another cup of Joe

I don't believe l have ever seen Dr. No.  I'll have to keep that one in mind

Wilson strikes me as a "Kool Kat"

It looks like summer is finally coming to an end in the Valley of the Sun. (That's right, summer.) It is 97 out right now and tonight's low is forecast to be 75. Saturday's high is forecast at 75 and by Monday we are projected to top out at 61. Brrr! Where is that parka? Big Smile

 Eveinf Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer please and Dirk and Robbie a dog treat.

Weather here was all so great. Took Dirk to the park, too the bank and through a drive thru BBQ joint called Red Top BBQ. At the bank Dirk was my wingman! Started barking when I hot chick drove up next to us. ( I may be old, but not dead ) After he knew I saw her, he stopped barking and had a grin? Whistling

Drive thru he was awful, well in till the girl handed us the BBQ? Then for some reason he stopped barking? Confused Funny thing I have been wanting to try this places for the last few years and wife kept saying "what it is to hot or taste bad?". Did not ask her if it was Ok this time and just went there! She loves there pull pork and side's! Smething happen when I wanted to try her now favirot Mexican resturant!

Credit Score. Fico went up 10 points this month. EQ and Trans Union went down 3 points. Lowerd debit ratio from 19% to 17% so I am getting there. 27 years ago when I bought this house I was at 808 and want to get to the 800 again.

Later, Ken and Dirk says Woof, Woof

On a serious note, keep doing what you're doing.  You quit smoking Ken so you can do anything.  You Will raise your credit scoreYes

Good Evening,

Nice day here but cloudy. We grilled burgers tonight. They were from a spcialty grocery store and were really good, in fact to me the best burgers I've ever eaten.

Not good news on the Robbie front. We took himto the vet today as his back leg isn't any better. He needs surgery to repair his cruciate ligament. We are getting an ultra sound done Monday  to see if his liver is stable enough for surgery. It will likely cost a bundle. We have insurance but it covers only 45% now because of his age.

Well time for tea and tellie,

CN Charlie

Not good news to hear about Robbie Charlie

As I have said so many times out of experience, I understand how pets are a member of the family because they are

It's a good thing they know what's wrong with his ligament.  I know you will have to swallow hard with whatever you have to pay for the bill.

I spent $1,700 trying to save Magnum after he was poisoned.  It didn't work but if I had to do it all over again I would

I feel for you Charlie and your dog Robbie

Almost hard to talk about the good hamburgers you had tonight.  There's something about those rare times in your life you get a really good hamburger

I know in my heart your friend Robbie is going to be better in no timeYes

I'll take the Packers.

I hate the 49ers.

It goes back to the 1980s & 90s when the Saints and the 49ers were in the NFC West division.  The 49ers never seemed to get penalized for breaking the cap rules, and they killed the Saints year after year.

I got to see some of those 49ers teams when they played in the Superdome.    I still don't like them.

Very understandable John

Shortly back from halftime and it looks like your team is doing rather well

Congratulations but I'm still pulling for my team like a slim chance in the dark

P.S.  If the Pack was playing like they are tonight the last time they played the VikingsWhistlingWhistlingWhistling

Don't feel bad

My smartphone is failing.  People's posts here are only showing up half of the text they're typing sometimes.

My PayPal is offline and can't be accessed.  I was on hold for 2 hours and talk to them for 1 hour and never got anything resolved

It's almost like I have a virus in my phone.  Viruses in phones are very rare but I think I will have to put on my mask and stop in at my servers store

I hate to go in stores and try to avoid it as much as possible

But my phone is jacked

Congratulations on your pick of Thursday Night Football John

At least San Fran went out with a bit of dignity

I ain't the coach but I have no idea why they waited until the last 15 minutes of the game to try to start passing instead of trying to run it up the center that wasn't working the whole game

But then again I don't understand a lot of things

It was nice of San Fran to show up for the last 10 minutes of the game

Good evening all.

Kitchen renos are a pain, too many details to take care of.Sigh

The Quartz arrived for the trainroom bathroom today, I helped the guy put it in place, man that sucker was heavy,

I am glad I am getting an electrician to do the kitchen as I have really lost interest in the whole project and would be dragging my butt to get it done.

Charlie, sorry to hear Robbie needs surgery. The wife has done many cruciate surgeries over the years. Good thing insurance will cover some of it.

I have been misbehavin and eating too much and have missed the bike for a couple of days because of house renos. I need to drop a couple of pounds, usually I need to eat more so that was a bit of a surprise for me. No biggie for me to do.

Dave, the pups eat pureed puppy food as they have no teeth yet.

I can't believe we ate the whole thing.

Image may contain: dog

TF, your barbecues in the park look so relaxing, I could use that right now. The guy that put in the bathroom quartz measure up the kitchen before he left.Tongue TiedLaugh Can't take it with me is all I will say.

I need to get my flu shot and I keep forgetting when I go out. I just need to pop into any pharmacy, it is free and you are in and out in five minutes and I still forget.Dunce

Garry, hope you are on the mend.

Albert Canyon gets/got over fifty feet of snow a year.

All the best to all.

"They seemed to be constantly belching heavy black smoke. Were they always under load because of the grades, or is that a result of the grade of coal being used, or is that just how they worked? The trains didn't seem to be long enough to justify the apparent load they locomotives were under."

Gidday Dave, my thinking is that by the time that video was taken those Garretts were over 50 years old, and though they had had a major rebuild in the early 80s, they were , by 2011 getting rather “long in the tooth”, and given the severe decline in Zimbabwe’s fortunes, would have been receiving minimal maintenance, not to say that the “Railwaymen” wouldn’t have done their best in keeping them running. Hard to do when there’s a lack of funds, though!

"I'm assuming that would have made for some interesting variations in tractive ability as the water level decreased."

Yes, as the water level dropped so would the adhesive weight and accordingly the tractive effort. This was a problem with all tank engines, though a retired driver told me that the secret was to top up the tanks at every available chance.

Here’s a video showing the NZRs biggest tank engine, a Wab class, 4-6-4T.

The other day, Ed posted a photo of Glenbrook Vintage Railways No 4, formerly the Taupo Totara Timber Co No 7, 2-4-4-2, the only compound Mallett in NZ. She is currently in storage, but here’s a video of her when she was in action.

Good morning

We are getting spoiled up here with the unseasonably warm-weather continuing.  A predicted high of 77 today.  I know it isn't going to last much longer but I'll take it while I can

Thanks for the treats Bear and the Steamer videos, ...Enjoyed

Liked the stage coach pic David, here's the one I have

The new quartz vanity top looks nice Brent.  I bet you'll be happy when the adhesive on the undermount sinks dry so you can get the faucets installed and break it in.  The puppies at nap time put a smile on my face especially the one sleeping on his back with his feet in the airSmile

Hope you're feeling better Garry,  get well and hope to see ya soon

Taking Judy to work soon.  Going to be outside enjoying the weather, doing a few things to the truck getting it ready for winter today

Have a great day gentlemenWink

We will be in the mid 80s today, but the tropical humidity is back again. We were dry for the last few days and it felt great.
