Henry, I asked the boss Dr. and sent a reply.

Kevin, the production value for TV/movie production has shifted greatly. You will notice way fewer people in scenes and a lot of CGI people inserted. My kid is still well connected to what is going on in the industry and we were talking about it at dinner tonight.

Speaking of dinner, with the kitchen torn to pieces we are on night three of takeout. Sushi, pizza and Tai have been the lineup but we all miss Moms incredible talent. Her Dad was an executive chef and she comes by it naturally.

The restoration crew is having a slow go because the subfloor is glued to the base. Our floors never squeaked and now we know why.

Think it will be season 4??? of the Crown tonight. Watched The Wrath Of Kahn with the kids last night. It is my all-time favourite movie and it has been a long time since I had seen it. The kids suggested it knowing it is my favourite and we all watched it together, it was a good night with my cherished offspring. The way it addresses getting old hits home for me. I can really relate to the commentary rolling off the actor's tongues.

Had a friends Daughter in Chicago ask if I knew where the show Riverdale was filmed as she is a huge fan. Its "so-called" soundstage is in the shed of an old "Windsor Plywood" store. Nothing glamourous about this place, I think she is in for a letdownLaugh Instead of piles of lumber the parking lot it is always full of movie trucks now. Most of the location filming is done within a KM of my house though, so I can take her on a location tour if she visits.

The show Supernatural has wrapped for good, it will be weird not seeing that bunch around the neighbourhood. The X-files was always in the area and I have taken a few of my wifes visiting doggy friends on location tours, it thrilled them to death. They would get out and I would have to take photo's of them in front of different things. A show called "Once Upon A Time" is another one I get roped into doing tours for. It is all in good fun and usually, I get a kick out of it. I guess that is what happened if you lived in Hollywood at one time, you would be chief tour guy for the out of town visitors.Laugh

We had a big "Stargate" just sitting in the forest a short walk from the house. They just left it there along with the control panel and would move it around the area every time they needed a new planet to be on.Laugh It was made out of plastic and two people could easily pick it up.

Time for tellie.

All the best to all.

There is no excuse for the poor quality of scripted prime time network television shows.

Second rate offerings like Riverdale can dwindle, but if the flagships aren't putting in the effort, television will soon be dead to me (again).

If The Young & The Restless managed to make it work, everybody should be able to make it work.

I'll rely on what you have to say about TV Kevin, I watch very few "shows". I have never even seen Riverdale or The Young and Restless. I tend to watch limited series or documentaries. I have not even seen everything my own kid has been in.Surprise The novelty of him showing up in things has worn off. He hasn't even seen all his appearances in shows he worked on. Covid restrictions on set have really changed the appearance of some shows there is no doubt about that. Quality is suffering across the board.

I just watched the first episode of The Crown and it has slipped down a notch or two as well.

I have always been a little bewildered by the fandom of TV shows. There is this tiny old church a short walk from our house that has been used in so many series and people that visit us from elsewhere always are thrilled when they see it and want to get a photo in front of it.

You said your daughter did some TV or movie work, did the novelty wear off after a while.  My kid has a long list of stuff on IMDB and he could care less, it is just really good money that gets him a really good standard of living as he goes through University. He would work long days and make up to $2000.00 a day sometimes. Beats working at McDonald's.

I have never even seen Riverdale or The Young and Restless.

The Young & The Restless is not a great (or even good) show, but it has returned to TV post-shut-down with the same quality of writing and story progression that it had before. They had a lot of hurdles to overcome, and they did it. The re-start of the show was impressive.

The return of my favorite prime-time shows has been lackluster.

I normally watch my TV shows by the season on DVD, but since I retired, I have been watching them in "real time".

She does a lot more modeling than acting. She has never been in a movie. It is her job and how she supports herself now, it is not really a novelty.

Since I have retired, I go to bed when I am tired, wake up when I am rested, and eat when I am hungry.

No schedule, and no time when I "should" be doing anything.

You can make a very good living in that kind of work. My kid met a lot of people that have been doing it for years both modelling and extra work. My kid would easily make a good six figures if he did it full time, it is gruelling work though, it is your life and everything you do is done when they don't need you on set. The kid got treated like a King and paid really well. But his life was only working.

...but when I see "healthy" cereal like Raisin Bran and ALL the raisins are coated with additional sugar AND the flakes are, too, and they promote this as a "healthy" choice??  It makes me cringe Ick!

Gidday All, I guess I should perhaps keep the peace, but on the topic of sugar, I have to agree with Ed. Adding sugar to something already sweet is Bang Head   BTW I do have a sweet tooth.Sad

Good morning all.

Kevin.   It appears I may have offended you.  If I have, I am sorry.   It certainly wasn't and isn't my attention to do so.

Bear.  That sure looks a nice salad.

We are having a clear out of stuff we no longer use or need and even stuff we haven't touched for ages.   The stuff that will come in handy the minute you throw away.  So that will keep me busy today.

It is 'Burger Friday'.    On the menu is Pork and Apple Burger with Rosemary Wedges and Lemon Rocket Salad

Bring the beers.  Plenty of open space for all.

The 'boys' with a three horse team.

'Fifty shades of green'.

Thoughts and Peace to All who require.

Stay Safe.

Good Morning,

Got a couple inches of the white stuff last night. It won't be melting at least not today.

Yesterday I decided I would get out my PK2 SW8 for a run. It was always a smooth runner with decent sound. Well it stalled constantly so I thought perhaps a wheel cleaning would fix that. It helped  a little but still stalling and the prime mover sounds had quit so I removed the shell and gave it a light lube. Helped a little but still stalling and no prime mover sound. I wonder if a reset would help. It has a QSI factory decoder. It had just been sitting on a siding for about a year.

Time for more coffee.

I am sorry I gave you that impression. I have enjoyed all of your posts.

TF, look into getting a pair of blue light blocking glasses.  They should help

Good morning

Thanks Mike.  Judy had a pair of Blueblocker sun glasses I'm using that seem to help.  I will find a better pair of clearer ones on the net that hopefully fit over my reading glasses.  I didnt know blue rays from the sun were the same as screen light.

As soon as it gets a little safer out there I will go in and have a prescription pair made.

Hello everyone.  We're having a couple of nice days here before rain sets in.  We will welcome the rain.

When living in New Orleans, we often had movies or TV shows being filmed.  One evening watching TV, we heard a helicopter circling the neighborhood.  That wasn't unusual since the police and the oil companies used helicopters quite a bit.  But this kept up, and finally my wife and I walked down the block to the cemetery.  The helicopter spotlight was trailing slowly through the cemetery, and there was Clint Eastwood running through the tombs.  The New Orleans' cemeteries were favorite movie filming locations.

The contractor is bringing the kitchen island tomorrow.  The top of the island won't be here for another week.  It will be good to get this finished.  My wife was beginning to worry that it wouldn't be done for Christmas when the whole family moves in for several days.

Evening

Just got back from my buddy Erv's.  He called late this morning as he was down at the 101 junk yard.  He noticed they brought in a Dodge Durango that was totaled but no wheel damage the same year as my Dodge Ram

He's in good with them down there as he does a lot of business.  The rims and tires on this thing we're almost brand spanking new.  The tires still have the Nubbies on them.  Nothing that fancy but who cares, neither am I.

My rims are old and don't hold air too well anymore and my tires were starting to look like frogskins.  I was buying one more year out of them since we don't go anywhere to much any more in light of the pandemic.

My buddy Erv is always looking out for me and to make a long story short I got these nice new rims and tires for 450 bucks today talked down from 500.  Cash is king!

All I've got to say is I really have a good friend.  Now I'm ready for the snow to fly hereYes

Good Evening, folks

Good to see you here again, Jimmy!

Well you just never know what surprises await you!

Mrs. Pullman got a call from her sister in Kent, Ohio (On the B&O and Erie near Akron) and one of her neighbors had kicked all the kid's cats out into the cold. Seven cats in all. Could we adopt one of them?

She went to pick the cat up this afternoon and now we have Phoebe Snow:

Phoebe Two by Edmund, on Flickr

She's about a year old and cute as a snowball! Very friendly and she has settled in here like she owns the place.

Phoebes First by Edmund, on Flickr

Mrs. P made a bed for her on her sewing table and she's sleeping safe and sound. Our other cats are — Oh, Ho-hum. Here we go again~~

Says Phoebe Snow

about to go

Have a great evening, everyone!

Good Evening,

TF, nice score on those rims and tires!

Ed, cute cat. When I was growing up we had a cat. My sister brought home a kitten, a white Persian or at least mostly so. Snowy lived for 21 years.

All of Robbie's blood work came back ok so we are set for his liver surgery on the 30th. I was surprised at the cost of the surgery,  as in lower than expected.

I haven't reset the SW8 decoder yet. I got out the instructions and found the magnet for the reed switch. Maybe tomorrow.

We are on major restrictions here. Only stores open are food and drug outlets. All other retail is closed as are all restaurants. No gatherings at all. Hope it works.

Keep safe,

CN Charlie

I've got a Durango with the 5.7L Hemi.  I love it (except for when I changed the spark plugs -- 16 spark plugs and wires set me back a bit).

TF, you got a great deal on those rims and tires.  Funny you mention that.  The other day I had a low tire.  I took it in figuring I picked up a nail.  The tire guy said the rim had deteriorated a little and air was leaking under the bead.  He cleaned the rim and put on some bead sealer.  He said 15-year-old rims are going to keep doing that.

I love driving the Durango, while my wife won't get in it.  It's a little dirty and beat up for her to be seen in it.

The driver's side rear view mirror is duct taped on, the windshield is cracked all the way across, there are major rust areas, and the driver's side door sounds like a jet engine when your get over 40 mph.  I love it.

Yeah, the good Tire guys that like and care about their job will take a wire wheel and go round and round and then put extra black goop on.  The older tire guys don't like to breath that crap and I don't blame them.  So a lot of them skip that extra step.

Yeah, when rims get old and the corrosion pits get deeper, tires don't hold air well even with the wire wheel and goop on.

The last thing I want to do at the gas station when the air doesn't work very well is freezing my fingers 3-4 times a week JohnTongue TiedSad

P.S.  I like the new kitty Ed.  I certainly know she has a very good homeSmile

Thanks, Ed, for adopting little Phoebe Snow!  We had a little Phoebe cat here last year.  We never knew if she was a stray or a loose house cat, but after last year she disappeared.  She was seen at the end of Phoebe Court, hence our name for her.  Our cats, Emily and Snowflake, say hi to yours.
