MisterBeasleyUlrich, I'm not sure if your media has allowed you to see this, but I've seen a report that Angela Merkel is in quarantine because a doctor of hers tested positive.
Yup, but she was tested negative - so far. The underground media has not many favourable comments.
Soon after the government announced the total ban of social contacts for more than 2 people, they had to put everything in reverse gear and issue a list of allowed contacts, which makes the ban completely useless. People are now really panicking.
Happy times!

MisterBeasleyOur state government actually got a little bit smart and realized that since all the restaurants and brewpubs were forced to close for eat-in service and many have resorted to take-out, they should allow for sealed container alcohol sales, too.
Our governor has also waived all the rules about the sale of alchohol also. You can have it delivered, and it need not be a sealed container. You can get draft beer brought to your house in a 44 ounce soda fountain cup!
My next door neighbor is out working in his back yard. This guy is so good-looking it it almost unreal. My wife is out on the back porch "enjoying the fresh air" right now. It is amazing how her need for fresh air seems synchronized with his yard work on Sundays.
At least she is "social distancing" right now.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
That´s what I call a wise government, very much unlike ours.
Extra strong coffee in a Georgia Central Railway mug, please.
Have all the wood for the train table additions curing in the train room, except for the plywood sheets. Still have to pick those up, perhaps this week.
Treatments are starting to kick my butt just a little bit. Had a couple auras (pre-seizures) the other day which are never fun. Nice to have the weekend off and the extra naps seem to help.
Hope everyone is doing well and having a fantastic day.
Cheers! Rob

We've been getting take-out and leaving large tips to support businesses and workers. Tonight is gourmet pizza and fresh draft beer. We are cooking more at home, and probably eating better and healthier food now.
Tinplate Toddlerstarting Monday, not more than two people are allowed to be in contact.
I guess that gives us a little more time to complete filming.
Afternoon all. Checking in from Washington County PA. Seems like the amount of cases is growing, but so is the negative test number. At least it is some kind of positive in regards to this darkness. My job is still open-via waiver. At least for now I have a source of income while this is going on. People are going nuts, and I am seriously hiding down in my train room when I can. At least I'm getting much modeling progress done.
So NASCAR is running an Eseries race-Virtual. I'd rather have real life NASCAR, but it is something to hold over until they can. Hope everyone is doing well

Tampa is just following Baltimore's lead. Four days ago the mayor asked people to stop shooting each other so hospitals could deal with Corona.

Because they're kinda like Twinkies. They have about a 10-year shelf life.
Bon appetite.

Ricky, that reminds me of Mardi Gras. The police used to say that Fat Tuesday was the day even criminals took the day off.
How about this Bogart line? Sam Spade: "When you're slapped, you'll take it and you'll like it."
There are so many great Bogart quotes.

As long as the power stays on, water keeps flowing, mail keeps coming, the internet keeps working, and I can access food and essentials when needed, I will be OK.
I have at least three weeks of food left. Just my wife and I do not seem to eat very much.
Good Morning All,
Ulrich, we all live in the land of unintended consequences now. Here all non essential businesses are supposed to close down for a month starting tomorrow at 8pm. By definition we are an essential business, logically we are not. We all need to do our part to slow down the infection curve so the medical facilities don't get overwhelmed. On the other hand after 25 years, if we close for a month we are done. Likewise with some of the other stuff but detailing it will just get this erased so I won't. At some point there has to be an accomodation to allow life but government by nature is much better at reaction than foresight.
Just about done with chores after the last of the laundry dries and then it is train time. Yippee! Doing a tidy up today and then starting on the next bare primer flat spot on the layout. Catch y'all later. J.R.
ROBERT PETRICKthere are four ways to do things
"Mr. Maryk, you may tell the crew for me that there are four ways of doing things aboard my ship: The right way, the wrong way, the Navy way, and my way. They do things my way, and we'll get along"
Edit: Our government has just decreed, that starting Monday, not more than two people are allowed to be in contact. This in effect means we are locked up in our homes, will not be able to go shopping for essentials. All businesses will have to close. This country will turn into a jail, with no one feeding the inmates. That´s all of us! As a consequence, more people will die from this stupid measure than the virus could possibly kill.
SeeYou190 The Caine Mutiny is my second favorite Bogart movie.

Not exactly Casablanca, but memorable nonetheless.
BigDaddyBig Sleep was confusing.
THANK YOU!
I did not enjoy that movie at all.
I agree on Casablanca followed by the Maltese Falcon. The statue sold at auction for $4.6 mil in 2013. Big Sleep was confusing. Bogie did a good job acting in the African Queen.
York1My favorite is still Casablanca, followed closely by Key Largo
Casblanca is 100% my favorite. I think it is the most quotable movie ever made.
I love Bogart movies. My favorite is still Casablanca, followed closely by Key Largo and The Maltese Falcon. This might be a good day to watch one of those.
Track fiddlerHave you watched Humpty Bogart's African Queen yet
I have seen African Queen about a dozen times. I even have that one on DVD in my personal collection.
Excellent.
York1In the middle of a worldwide crisis, what about me? I have a wife who tolerates me, a refrigerator full of food, money in the bank, a comfortable house, a TV with 300 channels, toilet paper that will last five weeks, a dog who worships me, a computer to keep in touch with family, and a hobby I enjoy. I'd better be thankful!
I have all of that also, except for the dog. I am very thankful.
Earlier I posted how people (idiots) down here are comparing this "suffering" to the ordeal of living through a hurricane.
We are still hearing this comparisson all the time, and it is 100% false. I don't know why so many want to make this out to be so difficult, when it is really very easy.
The government said we are at war, this comparrison really offended me.
A war we can win by staying at home and eating popcorn while we watch Netflix? I guess "wars" have become kindler and gentler.
My grandfather arrived in France 10/JUN/1944 and came back home to the USA 16/JUN/1944 never to walk again. He was struck in the pelvis by a round from an MG42. I think he would have a few words to say to people who think you can consider yourself a combat veteran exposed to enemy fire after you sit in an air conditioned house while binge watching The Office for a few days.
Good Sunday morning.
Unusual for me -- I always have donuts on Sunday morning after church. I watched church on livestream, but I didn't get any donuts.
I may go for a drive today. It's cold, cloudy, and quietly depressing outside. Maybe a drive will pick things up. With the price of gas right now, a drive may be the cheapest diversion we have.
Preaching alert! Quit reading here if you don't want to hear a sermon.

Howdy .
This will be our 11th day of being hermits. I am pleased to say not one minute was wasted watching any movies. .... I don't do Twitter. ..... Facebook actaully is okay if you join groups. I'm in a couple of them which has photos and videos of the CB&Q. Another group is CB&Q modelers. I received over 100 "likes" for my Burlington FT ABBA. I'm in another group about D&RGW and a another one about GTW ..... There might be a group for each railroad that ever existed in the USA and Canada.
Meanwhile, I'm working on the model railroad.
Have a nice Sunday.

BigDaddy Breaking news: Trending on Twitter. #PoorJennifer Yes Twitter is a cesspoll Spoiler alert. If you are not opposed to looking at Twitter for #PoorJennifer or can search Youtube for "When things go wrong working from home" do so now and don't read anymore of this post. You have been warned. 12 people are having a video conference, where you can see all 12 and their names. Three rows, of four each. Jennifer is center extreme left. The woman just to Jennifer's right is droning on about something and is oblivious during the whole episode. Everyone else is paying attention to the speaker, except Jennifer, who is carrying her bouncing laptop around her home. Eventually she stops, sets the laptop down on the floor where she can see it and it can see her. She sits down to do her business, in the bathroom. Everyone else is either shocked or amused and break out laughing, when Jennifer realizes what she is steaming to the internet and knocks the laptop over.

I did not check out the twit. I'll accept your description. But I suspect Jennifer had issues long before the coronavirus showed up. Stupidity like that does not go unnoticed.
Facebook and Twitter - I don´t have the faintest desire to participate in that kind of utter madness! If you start telling people (don´t show a twitch in your face when you do), that the virus spreads through Facebook and Twitter, the idiot generation following us will believe it!
Good morning.
I just read through this page of posts from last night Hard to understand a lot of it. I hope you all feel better today
The calendar says it's Mothering Sunday. I had to look that up.
Have a great day!

Good Morning!
It´s Sunday, so it should be the time for a big breakfast, just the way I like it and the doctor has blacklisted it for me. But with all the shutdowns and lock-outs going on I´d better stay at home and have my usual, daily fare.
The day starts bright and sunny, but it is bitter cold. The world must have gone mad, not only due to the virus. Last night, just two days after "Spring has sprung", the coldest temperature in decades was recorded in my neck of the woods, much colder than during the entire winter.
Do you know how to operate a steam engine?
Here is how to:
Stay safe!
Edit: for over 10 years now, we live in this apartment. While it has sufficient room for the two of us, I always have had an uneasy feeling about it. This may be due to the lack of a balcony and the rather antisocial neighborhood, but I now know what I have been missing all those years! Flowers! Although we live on the outskirts of our town and there is lots of green around, there are no flowers to be seen anywhere near. The only flowers we sometimes see, is the bouquet of flowers I occasionally buy for Petra. It took me more than 10 years to find that out - shame on me!
That's funny Kevin
I've had those nights too
Actually I've been having one right now I can imagine it happening more in this day of uncertainty
I wouldn't feel alone Other brothers are with you
You have experience now Jennifer Lopez's is the first hint
Try to do your homework to pre read hints to stay away from chick flicks
Have you watched Humpty Bogart's African Queen yet
I would highly recommend it since we still have so much time on our hands now
